  1. Cunnington played after Clarry so would be fresher in his memory affected mind.
  2. I could not think of his name but he seems the best fit if an internal appointment is going to happen. Would certainly have good relationships with the major and other sponsors and be well connected at AFL House.
  3. Pretty much single-handedly saved the club, with help from Roosy. Should end up in the club's Hall of Fame.
  4. NFL

Happy enough. Picking at 29 each round without trading too often (hi Belichick) means BPA pretty much. Was nice to see the club drafting BPA and not need. Jags UDFAs are quite impressive too - especially Tony Adams and Allen Lazard.
  5. Only if it is the whole thing.
  6. It would like it was 15 to 20 years ago where all the rotations would be midfielders and key position players would play close to 100 percent of game time unless injured. Skills are bad enough without fatigue. Hardwick was On The Couch a few weeks back and said they drafted/traded for players who could tackle and backed themselves in to teach them the rest. I reckon a team playing like Hawthorn 2015 with precise kicking and uncontested marking would slice them up.
  7. Caty is mint. Knows her footy too without being a muckraker. Would wife.
  8. It's no surprise the high fend-offs by Dusty aren't called. It is a celebrity based league these days and Dusty, Danger, Joel Selwood etc rarely have frees against awarded. Yet the biggest celebrity in the league would be close to the most penalised player - Buddy. He does play for a non-Victorian club which probably explains it.

If I was one of our players I would have chinned either Dusty or the umpires before half time.

Umpires are a joke. [censored] cheats.

Playing man on man might be a good idea?

Edwards should get a week for that.

[censored] these umpires. That goal was a fluke.

    Doesn't apply to Richmond.

Holding the ball doesn't apply to Richmond?

More importantly, I hope everyone is watching 'Draft Day' before Friday. I have it sitting on the TV unit so I give it a view on Wednesday or Thursday night.
  20. NFL

Taking Josh Allen at #1 would be a sure fire stuff up. I reckon Barkley at #1 and Chubb at #4 is their way forward. Tyrod Taylor is good in the mean time and they can take a QB like Luke Falk at 33 or 35 to learn in the next season or two.
  21. When are the teams announced?
  22. Same thing happened in the Carlton/West Coast game. Guess Gil didn't want us beating Hawthorn - also North get the run of the umps every week. Hopefully he is OK with us winning tomorrow night.
  23. Like Belichick. Doesn't start with any particular plans but adapts to the opposition.
  24. Exactly. I reckon Essendon would have similar or worse stats, but they are media darlings, plus the media have to all pile in on a different team each week. Carlton seem to be escaping such scrutiny. Guess a few 'journos' might have parted with a few $$$ backing us on the weekend.
  25. Absolutely, and at least 4 or 5 of us in this thread have said the same thing. I really didn't like it at the JLT game in Hobart when the last defender was attacking side of the centre line when the ball was just inside forward 50. Even that day North got a few easy ones out the back. Shortening the field does not work in AFL. In soccer it does but that is on a narrow field and there is an offside rule.
