Taking out the fend-off
It's no surprise the high fend-offs by Dusty aren't called. It is a celebrity based league these days and Dusty, Danger, Joel Selwood etc rarely have frees against awarded. Yet the biggest celebrity in the league would be close to the most penalised player - Buddy. He does play for a non-Victorian club which probably explains it.

GAME DAY
If I was one of our players I would have chinned either Dusty or the umpires before half time.

Umpires are a joke. [censored] cheats.

Playing man on man might be a good idea?

Edwards should get a week for that.

Can't beat 25.

[censored] these umpires. That goal was a fluke.

More importantly, I hope everyone is watching 'Draft Day' before Friday. I have it sitting on the TV unit so I give it a view on Wednesday or Thursday night.

Taking Josh Allen at #1 would be a sure fire stuff up. I reckon Barkley at #1 and Chubb at #4 is their way forward. Tyrod Taylor is good in the mean time and they can take a QB like Luke Falk at 33 or 35 to learn in the next season or two.

Shepherding the man on the mark
Same thing happened in the Carlton/West Coast game. Guess Gil didn't want us beating Hawthorn - also North get the run of the umps every week. Hopefully he is OK with us winning tomorrow night.

Breaking down the 15 goals to 1
Like Belichick. Doesn't start with any particular plans but adapts to the opposition.

Backline Setup and Structure
Absolutely, and at least 4 or 5 of us in this thread have said the same thing. I really didn't like it at the JLT game in Hobart when the last defender was attacking side of the centre line when the ball was just inside forward 50. Even that day North got a few easy ones out the back. Shortening the field does not work in AFL. In soccer it does but that is on a narrow field and there is an offside rule.

Shepherding the man on the mark
There was a bit of #freekickhawthorn going on yesterday.

I'd take Dez at the Jags. I reckon he would be an unbelievable slot receiver, like Anquan Boldin or Larry Fitz.

Shepherding the man on the mark
It drove me mental all game. As said above, it was holding not shepherding and should have been a free kick every time. That wouldn't fit in with #freekickhawthorn though. Free kick count was 27-24 their way but it felt more like 30-15. Razor and co certainly gave them a ride back into the game and it gave them all the momentum they needed to do what happened.

Post Match Discussion - Round 4
There's no team absolutely flying at the moment. In the first 6-8 rounds it's all about getting wins to setup the rest of the season and top 4 or 8 finishes. The worst thing to me is we should be 4-0 or at the worst 3-1. We have already [censored] away one win and really need to in 4 or the next 5 to set things up post-bye. The main issues I see are the defensive press is way too high - if we are going to press that high there has to be an anchor 20 metres goal side of the last opposition player; not having a second tall in the forward line - either Pedo or Weid will do the job; and we are too slow leg speed wise. Hunt must come back in next week. We were 2-3 last year and recovered well enough. Beat the Tigers and 3-2 could easily be 7-2 or 6-3.
