Tonight we made the banner for our round 2 AFLW match. (The banner for round one tomorrow night is en route to Adelaide now.) This is the round 2 banner… It says, “ON THE BIG STAGE AND ON THE RAMPAGE” which is a reference to the ‘G, now that the match has been moved to be curtain raiser for our QF. 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼 Incidentally, we’re the only AFLW team that makes a banner for the girls to run through. Pretty sad for the other teams. Also, I’ve been tasked with the refurbishment of the giant Maxy head, the one with holes where his eyes should be (the creepy one). A couple of nightlights from IKEA and a couple of power banks and Maxy’s eyes will shine! 😃 It’s gonna look cool. Or at least less creepy.

… or anywhere for that matter!!! Remember: they play for us, not the opposition.

I’ll pop over to say hello! I’d invite you to come say hello in my bay but I can’t guarantee your safety: there’s a lot going on in the first few rows of the cheer squad… A LOT! It’s bedlam. Flagpoles being waved around indiscriminately, giant heads aplenty and don’t even get me started on the floggers!

I will definitely look out for a ‘tallish old bugger that is bald and has a grey (white) longish beard’ but it might be difficult to find you since that doesn’t really narrow the field down much. Every second bloke at the footy fits that description! 😆

I was doing so well refraining from responding to that particular post despite being offended by it. But now that you’ve posted this Kev, I just need to add something … Not everyone has the wherewithal to afford the MacDaddy membership. But they may volunteer for the MFC in some capacity. Or they turn up each and every week. Or they buy merch from the Demon Shop. Or some/all of these things. I understand the poster’s frustration. But it’s the use of the word ‘plebs’ that I found offensive and hurtful. Also, it’s not ok to offend someone then add the codicil (or preface) ‘No offence intended…’ as though that negates the offensive comment. Coz it doesn’t.

The longer (usually midweek) sessions are usually at Casey, right? And the Captain’s Run at Gosch’s on the eve of GameDay. Being that it’s finals, things may be changed up a little?

Idk about this week but next Thursday morning at 9:30 there’s an open training session at Gosch’s. That’s not yet fully confirmed, but highly probable. Zero contact with players and coaches, of course.

I asked if that would be included on the banner as well as Tracc’s and Sparrow’s milestones but unfortunately it’s only ever total number of games that gets a mention. All good though, WE know he’s marking his 100th as a Demon and we love him for it.

Aaah Essendon… the gift that keeps on giving. They put the FUN in DYSFUNCTIONAL.

The QF next week is definitely his 100th game as a Demon. He’s played 183 games thus far. 84 with the unhinged hot mess that is Essendon and 99 with the greatest football club in the world that is Melbourne.

TRACC’s 150th game next week!!! Let’s all hope he gets to celebrate TWO awesome things that night! On the same night it’s Tommy Sparrow’s 50th (already!)
