My miserable “un-decorating” was on GF night 2000. At the time I was living on a main road, very conspicuous house with so much exposure and flanked on either side by Essendon supporters. In fact, I lived in a neighbouring suburb of Essendon, so they were everywhere. When the traffic slowed to a crawl outside mine, some would yell abuse from their cars. Someone even egged my house! Yep, just another entry on my very, very long list of reasons for hating Essendon.

Wouldn’t this mean “undersold” if anything to do with odds of winning?

Dontchya know Daise… the weather excuse magically disappears come finals time. As does the time-slot excuse, the Covid excuse, the public transport excuse, the cost of food and drink excuse and every other H&A excuse.

Defs NOT before a prelim win. There’s only one thing sadder than waiting ‘til dark to take down your many, many decorations, all the while crying, after a losing GF. And that’s doing the same after losing a semi or prelim.

Heard an interesting story about him just the other night. Apparently he used to like to be first to run through the banner, that is, until he ‘cut his forehead on a piece of tape’ and let the banner crew know all about it. From then on he’d hang back lest he sustain another such ‘injury.’ Diddums 😭

Crazier than when Kozzy kicked THAT goal vs. Carlton two weeks ago??? I don’t know if that’s even possible!
