  1. Or he could teach our players how to stick a tackle
  2. Was he coming out of BWS at 9am in the morning???
  3. Bowey has been poor all year. I don’t entirely blame him as I think he was rushed back into the side after his collar bone injury and should have come back via Casey. On current output alone I would have AMW in the side ahead of him as he has elite speed which is something that we lack, even more so with Windsor out of the side. Bowey getting beaten far too often in the one on ones for mine and has been poor in his decision making and disposal which is why we recruited him. Bowey is no longer the lucky charm and needs a game or two at Casey to get back into some form.
  4. We allow way too much uncontested ball and have done so all year. That first quarter was outstanding, we won clearance but around the ground we hunted the ball. If they were in possession there was manic pressure at the source forcing the turnover. Then from second quarter we start to sag off and play the zone. The zone absolutely has a place and I understand that 4 quarters of manic pressure at the source is hard to sustain but when a team gets a bit of a run on is it that hard to switch modes and lock on and go a hard one on one all over the game to slow that momentum down. We want to be a contest and defence team so make it ugly for a period, lock on all over the ground and have repeat stoppage to deny the opposition the momentum. You cannot allow a team chock full of elite kicks the ability to chip the ball around and constantly pierce your zone. Highlighted by the fact that when chasing a game of football and the Giants go into save game mode we still guard grass. I don’t know if it’s coaching or leadership of a combination of both but there to be better awareness of the situation.
  5. Looks Like the Kolt from Old Regret has not got away
  6. I agree with this. Add to that the mid season draft pick that we used to sadly effectively replace a midfielder we again used a let’s call him a forward that can ruck. Absolutely nothing against Kentfield but seemed bizarre to me at the time when I would have thought bigger priorities were a genuine ruck or pure midfielders as the cupboard is bare at Casey. In my opinion our overall list is extremely unbalanced.
  7. More Seppo [censored]. Agreed only a matter of when not if. Would rather a round of state of origin played mid year than a wildcard round if the AFL wants more football and dollars. But I also know this also won’t happen. Never been more disillusioned with the state of and direction of AFL. It is at the stage that I care more about Junior and local senior football. Wake up Dillon you’re asleep at the wheel.
  8. Far too many in the media deal in opinions and not facts. As for Tom Morris he is a giant skid mark on the y fronts of society.
  9. Quite possibly my favourite player of all time.
  10. Thanks for posting. Entertaining read. If we recruit Stringer that would just about be it for me. Wade Derkson. Never heard of him, sounds more like a porn star than a footballer.
  11. I would like to add “the Russian” Mark Jamar to that list.
  12. Well done to all involved, a great result all round.Beating Essendon and no new injuries. The kids are going to be alright.
  13. I don’t care who plays ruck as long as it is not JVR. Starting to hit his straps as that big bodied forward that we have been crying out for. Too important to risk him playing there. Happy for him to contest a few in the forward 50 as that is more a wrestle, further that the only time I want him to leave the forward 50 is at 1/4 time, 1/2 time, 3/4 time and at the end of the game.
  14. Simpson Hey. Can he play Ruck?????
  15. Thanks for Posting. From a Caulfield point of view surprised that Retschko wasn’t mentioned as a classy wingman. Absolutely gobsmacked that Marlon Neocleous wasn’t listed. A very bottom age exciting small forward one to watch for the future.
  16. Gee you’ve gone all Hawk Tuah (google or YouTube it) there. We’re not Richmond supporters we’re a classy bunch.
  17. Agree Dazzle, immensely talented and could have been anything. Unfortunately not professional off field. However that final against the crows where he absolutely left nothing out there and came off to an ovation absolutely exhausted I respect him for that. I was on the end of one of his 40 metre bullets. He laced me out in the Ponsford Stand end in that Troy Broadbridge tribute game against Essendon when he kicked that goal and kissed the armband. Clean hands too which was a great achievement as I was several cans deep by that stage.
  18. Trapper only played 49 games for Brisbane. Bonbeach is a hell of a lot closer to Melbourne than Brisbane.
  19. Last round of APS football was 15th of June so he has been available for Oakleigh Chargers selection since then. APS season resumes on 20th July.
  20. Tigga Johnstone is playing Under 14 football and has been selected for inter league team. Haven’t seen him play myself but apparently goes OK.
  21. Yes he plays football for Caulfield Grammar where to be perfectly honest he is an average player.
  22. Would hurt the suns more than us. Would be nervous if I was a Norf supporter, don’t the NT want their own AFL team. This could be the first step In a relocation. If that means we don’t have to play a home game at Alice Springs instead of the MCG I won’t shed a tear.
  23. Thanks for posting. Possibly a case of working harder rather than smarter. Ie our forwards constantly pushing so high up the ground to defend instead of being held back and do their primary role which is present and kick goals. Happy for them to defend our forward 50 arc but not the oppositions. Must be hard to kick gettable goals with all that lactic acid build up in the legs……..but,but,but that’s the modern game. Doesn’t have to be. It just takes a coach to be brave enough to hold forwards back in your forward 50 so win you do win a ball you can go quick in transition to multiple targets forward of the ball. And by Crivens don’t we look good when we do it and it’s great to see the scoreboard reward.
  24. Geelong very heavily into Cooper Hynes.
