Agree, although not as physical a player as Kozzie I actually think Watson will be a better player, if not certainly more consistent.

Yes Mick often moves players into the middle eg Tayla and Zanker to get them into the game but also I guess to provide some physicality in there because we were getting smashed. The problem there though is that Campbell and Pearce are not forwards so we are robbing Peter to pay Paul. Hopefully this week we see some changes around that with West back in to provide some contest / clearance work and also start Purcell on the ground. Second week in a row now she has started on the bench. We need to make a statement and get off to a good start.

Don’t entirely disagree with what you have said. But with all due respect we have chosen to play a home final at a ground that is not our home ground. We also have a pretty good winning record out at Casey and if I am the away team I wouldn’t be too disappointed playing at a neutral venue.

The way we played today we could have played anywhere and would have got beaten. Having said that if I am the City of Casey I would be disappointed that after all the investment they have made in a facility for the Melbourne FC especially the AFLW program and they have elected to host a final elsewhere and turn their back on their own home ground.

Not that I particularly give a [censored] but Richmond v St. Kilda at Norwood. Would have had that game at Adelaide Oval and moved the Geelong Doggies game to Norwood. Or for [censored] and giggles have the Doggies play at Mt Barker………wherever that is

On the face of it no. But she had 77% time on ground, 5 changers and went at 48% disposal efficiency in that game against Freo who we beat up on. She had 287 metres gained for that game so let’s call it 11 metres per possession.She has good speed and élite endurance but at the moment there is no hurt factor with her. Paxy, Bannon,Heath, Mackin sisters Goldie the all have hurt factor. While Westy is not a great kick, she will win a contest and is good with creative handball , that’s her role. I just think that at that height and frame you need to have some tricks or offer something other than being a good runner. Right now with McNamara I am not sure what that is. I genuinely do hope she can recover her from Pre injury which was sensational. Right now I think she is fortunate to be in the team and Westy is a bit stiff to miss out, but each to their own.

Tend to agree here. Westy wasn’t great last game but she wasn’t alone there. She is great at winning contest and clearances which will be vital against North. The player that I think is lucky is Eliza McNamara. I don’t think she has been great for a while now and needs to get involved and provide more run and carry. Understandably hasn’t been the same since her serious injury but on merit I think she is lucky. Great to see Georgia Campbell back in the team.

Not while our Premiership window is still slightly open. We need to get in players that will be difference maker now, not waste another year of Gawn, May, Viney etc. This years pick 6 will get us a very good player.

Total lack of run last night. Not having Paxy in hurt, I think we went in a bit tall. But the lack of run wasn’t all due to personal lot was also attitude based which was disappointing. Bannon offered nothing there or was set up to provide run in an open forwardline with a kick to her advantage side. Our forwards pushed too high up the ground last night.What stood out was a lack of chase. Shelly Heath who is usually a determined player and has wheels stopped chasing a Brisbane player who ran from half bank flank to half forward flank with some handball receives who set up a Brisbane goal from that chain. Our handball receives were way down with little overlap run. Really disappointing result now as we rely on Adelaide to slip up to host a potential Grand Final. It actually was like watching our men’s team last night. Win the inside but getting smashed outside the contest, forwards too high up the ground. Slow ball movement and a lack of run dare. And a few eyebrows raised with team selection. Too many passengers last night but I am sure that the girls will bounce back.

Awesome can we please spend the whole 20% increase on a “specialist forward line coach” preferably someone who spent a large portion of their career playing as a forward, not a part timer who rested there.

Marvel and MCG would be unavailable due to big bash. In a perfect world I think Marvel would be the best option. A bit of a shame that it’s Ikon. I just see that giant Carlton logo and it doesn’t sit well with me.

I believe he lives down Apollo Bay way so if he was to get into a men’s coaching role on a full time basis as much as I would love it to be with us, that tax payer funded club in Cotton On FC would be attractive from a location point of view. You can wear the travel for a shorter AFLW season but with a young family the travel and time commitment with our men’s program may be too much. Daisy to come home and take over the AFLW program and Mick promoted to the men’s program would be a dream scenario.

Couldn’t agree more. They could also learn from the AFLW teams ball movement and game plan a bit as well.

Just to let our football do the talking. No talk about players being at clubs that value them, no slogans like Demon Spirit or Possessed. Just simply play football and play it well.

At a minimum win one final in Melbourne

Not quite, Trav is from my club of Chelsea although these days he coaches Bonbeach Under 12 boys but do see him at a few Chelsea games. Local rivalry aside it’s more the culture of Edi-Asp. They are not a particularly well liked club down this way and with good reason. He is deservedly nicknamed Travis Bongstone, everything you have heard about him is probably true.

Tayla is a real impact player and also a selfless role player. A beautiful kick and can take a grab. If she is not tacking marks she is splitting the pack and getting the ball to ground where our smalls are ready more often than not. She doesn’t need to dominate the stats sheet every week to contribute Good luck defending a forward line of Harris, Zanker, Hore and Bannon. We are lucky that we have the depth to cover her but we are no doubt a better team when she is playing.

Interesting, wouldn’t have thought we were way off $$$$. Sale of Bentleigh Club and years of generous donations from Foundation Heroes would have raised a healthy deposit. No doubt we would rely on some level of government funding. Sincerely hope we get it as Caulfield for me ticks so many boxes.
