  1. Really like your design Gunna’s. In regards to our forwards I just want them to get it between the two big sticks.
  2. Drove past Trevor Barker Oval 10 Minutes ago in medium level traffic and saw Angus, Spargo, Salem, Disco and possibly Howes doing a skills session. Salem shirtless obviously happy with the rig. It was only a brief glimpse but excited people they were training the house down.
  3. A home game against Geelong Whale Oil Beef Hooked Said with an Irish accent.
  4. Bit of a “C” tax going on there Carlton Collingwood You could also throw Richmond in there, I’ve been known to also call them something that starts with the letter “c”
  5. I’d have no problem with Kozzy and Watson in the ones and Chandler and Spargo pushing for spots at Casey. For the sake of 10-15 centimetres we are talking about a player that with that skill set and game sense would arguably be the number 1 pick in this draft.
  6. Ha ha,I hear you. Believe me my youngest would love to have 2 days out of school. Makes it tough for me when you run your own business that means one and a half days off. Was hoping for a Friday night or Saturday/ Sunday game. I’ve seen enough already Dillon Out!!!!!!!
  7. Agree, although not as physical a player as Kozzie I actually think Watson will be a better player, if not certainly more consistent.
  8. Would go along way to solving our forward half issues.
  9. Another [censored] Thursday night match. I was hoping to go away for this one and take my girls to their first interstate trip.
  10. Now folks, that is a highlights package. If someone drafts him before us they will become my second most hated team after Collingwood.
  11. Yes Mick often moves players into the middle eg Tayla and Zanker to get them into the game but also I guess to provide some physicality in there because we were getting smashed. The problem there though is that Campbell and Pearce are not forwards so we are robbing Peter to pay Paul. Hopefully this week we see some changes around that with West back in to provide some contest / clearance work and also start Purcell on the ground. Second week in a row now she has started on the bench. We need to make a statement and get off to a good start.
  12. Don’t entirely disagree with what you have said. But with all due respect we have chosen to play a home final at a ground that is not our home ground. We also have a pretty good winning record out at Casey and if I am the away team I wouldn’t be too disappointed playing at a neutral venue.
  13. 6/ Hanks 5/ Hore 4/ Goldy 3/ Purcell 2/ Fitzsimmons 1/ The final siren
  14. The way we played today we could have played anywhere and would have got beaten. Having said that if I am the City of Casey I would be disappointed that after all the investment they have made in a facility for the Melbourne FC especially the AFLW program and they have elected to host a final elsewhere and turn their back on their own home ground.
  15. Any danger we can make the Nth spare behind the ball accountable.
  16. Not that I particularly give a [censored] but Richmond v St. Kilda at Norwood. Would have had that game at Adelaide Oval and moved the Geelong Doggies game to Norwood. Or for [censored] and giggles have the Doggies play at Mt Barker………wherever that is
  17. On the face of it no. But she had 77% time on ground, 5 changers and went at 48% disposal efficiency in that game against Freo who we beat up on. She had 287 metres gained for that game so let’s call it 11 metres per possession. She has good speed and élite endurance but at the moment there is no hurt factor with her. Paxy, Bannon,Heath, Mackin sisters Goldie the all have hurt factor. While Westy is not a great kick, she will win a contest and is good with creative handball , that’s her role. I just think that at that height and frame you need to have some tricks or offer something other than being a good runner. Right now with McNamara I am not sure what that is. I genuinely do hope she can recover her from Pre injury which was sensational. Right now I think she is fortunate to be in the team and Westy is a bit stiff to miss out, but each to their own.
  18. Tend to agree here. Westy wasn’t great last game but she wasn’t alone there. She is great at winning contest and clearances which will be vital against North. The player that I think is lucky is Eliza McNamara. I don’t think she has been great for a while now and needs to get involved and provide more run and carry. Understandably hasn’t been the same since her serious injury but on merit I think she is lucky. Great to see Georgia Campbell back in the team.
  19. Most likely on Oval 4 or 5 which is home to Casey- South Melbourne Cricket Club. Although in the master plan there is a plan to expand the grand stand and also introduce drop in pitches with a view to host big bash and AFL matches on the main oval which is ours. City of Casey Casey Fields Casey Fields is South East Melbourne’s premier sports and recreation precinct. It is home to two professional sporting clubs, Melbourne Demons (AFL/AFLW) and Melbourne City Football Club (A-League), and regularly hosts state level and nationally televised events in sports such as cricket, rugby league, athletics and BMX. In less than two decades, Casey Fields has grown from 87-hectares of farmland to a complex boasting more than 30 fields, tracks and courts for professional and community sport. With an increasing array of clubs and associations partnering with Council, and with a dedicated train station proposed as part of the future Clyde Rail extension, the future promises to be exciting. Partnerships, clubs and events Casey Fields is the City of Casey’s premier sporting precinct and the epicentre of South East Melbourne’s sporting landscape, with professional clubs, athletes and events finding a home at the complex. Throughout 2021, Casey Fields’ two professional tenant clubs, the Melbourne Demons and Melbourne City FC, won silverware in the AFL and A-League Men’s respectively. Casey Fields regularly hosts nationally televised events such as AFL pre-season, AFLW, VFL, Women’s Big Bash League, NRL pre-season and A-League Women's games. With facilities open to the public, residents can come to Casey Fields and see some of Australia’s best male and female athletes plying their trade, and with professional pathways on-site in sports such as Australian Rules, cricket and football, the platform is set for Casey's young people to chase their sporting dreams. Elite clubs and associations State and regional events Community sport Grassroots clubs based at Casey Fields As well as servicing professional sport, Casey Fields is also a proud supporter of community sporting clubs, housing a total of 16 organisations across the precinct. From footy and cricket, to darts, blokarting and cycling, these organisations stretch across nine different sporting disciplines, which showcases the diversity of the Casey Fields offering. The Cranbourne Tennis Club is the precinct’s longest serving tenant, having commenced on site in 2005, while the Casey BMX Club is our most recent grassroots sporting addition, competing out of Casey Fields since 2018. If you’re interested in learning more about, or even joining, one of these clubs then head to their websites listed below. Cranbourne Tennis Cranbourne Cricket Devon Meadows Junior Football Cranbourne Little Athletics Casey Cardinia Athletics Casey Warriors Rugby League Casey Wolves BMX Base Cycling Casey Cardinia Human Powered Vehicles Cycling Green Valley Darts and Social Club Victorian Blokart Club Victorian Masters Athletics Facilities Casey Fields has more than 30 courts, fields and tracks for professional clubs, grassroots clubs and the community to all enjoy – with more planned for the future. Sporting Main Oval The precinct’s premier facility, the Main Oval, has fronted Casey Fields since April 2006, regularly hosting AFL pre-season, AFLW and VFL / VFLW matches. Adjoining the playing field is the Casey Demons / Melbourne Demons administration pavilion, complete with change rooms, a function room and office space both for the club and for state sporting associations. To facilitate the growth of the AFLW program, the facility received an $8 million upgrade in 2018-19 that saw the development of an indoor high-performance centre. The project, which also included a refurbishment of the existing pavilion, was made possible by $5m in funding from the Victorian Government and $500,000 from the AFL. Long-term plans for the Main Oval include an upgrade of lighting and the addition of grandstands which would lift the venue to a standard capable of hosting AFL Premiership matches. Provision for the addition of a drop-in cricket wicket also form part of future plans, which will open up the possibility of Big Bash League cricket matches being played at Casey Fields.
  20. Not while our Premiership window is still slightly open. We need to get in players that will be difference maker now, not waste another year of Gawn, May, Viney etc. This years pick 6 will get us a very good player.
  21. Total lack of run last night. Not having Paxy in hurt, I think we went in a bit tall. But the lack of run wasn’t all due to personal lot was also attitude based which was disappointing. Bannon offered nothing there or was set up to provide run in an open forwardline with a kick to her advantage side. Our forwards pushed too high up the ground last night. What stood out was a lack of chase. Shelly Heath who is usually a determined player and has wheels stopped chasing a Brisbane player who ran from half bank flank to half forward flank with some handball receives who set up a Brisbane goal from that chain. Our handball receives were way down with little overlap run. Really disappointing result now as we rely on Adelaide to slip up to host a potential Grand Final. It actually was like watching our men’s team last night. Win the inside but getting smashed outside the contest, forwards too high up the ground. Slow ball movement and a lack of run dare. And a few eyebrows raised with team selection. Too many passengers last night but I am sure that the girls will bounce back.
  22. Awesome can we please spend the whole 20% increase on a “specialist forward line coach” preferably someone who spent a large portion of their career playing as a forward, not a part timer who rested there.
  23. Marvel and MCG would be unavailable due to big bash. In a perfect world I think Marvel would be the best option. A bit of a shame that it’s Ikon. I just see that giant Carlton logo and it doesn’t sit well with me.
  24. I believe he lives down Apollo Bay way so if he was to get into a men’s coaching role on a full time basis as much as I would love it to be with us, that tax payer funded club in Cotton On FC would be attractive from a location point of view. You can wear the travel for a shorter AFLW season but with a young family the travel and time commitment with our men’s program may be too much. Daisy to come home and take over the AFLW program and Mick promoted to the men’s program would be a dream scenario.
  25. Couldn’t agree more. They could also learn from the AFLW teams ball movement and game plan a bit as well.
