There is not a chance in hell Gawn or Brad Green let that happen
  2. There is one thing that stops the pile on towards Melbourne and earns our media department much undeserved money. Front page pic in the Herald picture book of Oliver and Petracca running around shirts off together before they are due back at training
  3. You left out the bit where he won us the game in the 2 minutes he was on

If Goody has to go because our list has under achieved he needs to be judged on the available list not a hypothetical one. I don't think he is the coach for a rebuild but i also think we have another roll at the dice
  5. Can't wait for JT to take someone not even in the conversation like Oliver and Windsor. A decade ago Demonland would go into meltdown but now everyone will just pitty the other clubs that had picks before us and missed

Given our track record of draft picks at the time, i don't imagine anyone could have predicted the fat red head kid that nobody else rated would become a legend of the mfc and have the members screaming to burn the house down if he was let go

Given none of our supporter base can get JVR'S pronunciation correct and yell Roo when he get's it, i'm nor sure why the same people are upset when our president calls trac pertracka.

Should have stay tuned. Looks like we're keeping our best two midfielders of the last 50 years and still have plenty of room in our salary cap to make a play for somebody else. Could be the biggest [censored] you to the media of all time if we snag someone unexpected.

I'm more interested in what he does in the preseason

Dunno i thought the same think about Petracca

I don't care if we get 5 first round draft picks for him, which we wont, there will never be another Clayton Oliver. We've won one premiership in 60 years and he wins the b&f and coaches award, dominates the premiership quater by taking out Bont, kicks the goal that seals the grandfinal and has been the best player of a generation. I'd prefer us to stick fat with a club legend, who loves the club, family love the club and risk he doesn't get back to his best than let him go and see him get back to his best at another club which will destroy our culture more than it's already been

Norm Smith curse all over again. The greatest player of the modern era pushed out by an out of touch board.
  13. Wrecker46 replied to Oxdee's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope he was talking about Pert
  14. Wrecker46 replied to Oxdee's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I praying Oliver is there next year and Pert isn't
  15. Question still remains is he a tactical nous or brilliant player manager? I'd say neither.
  16. Which was Malthouse? Tactical nous or player manager? Underacheived at the 2 most powerful clubs in the land. Won two premiership at West Coast when they were double the size of everyone else and fluked one at Collinwood because the ball didn't sit for Milne in the drawn GF and Collingwood were better resourced to deal with the draw than St Kilda. Give me Goodwin anyday.
  17. Oliver would have stopped Bont dead in his tracks in the premiership quater anywhere.

Kennedy would be a steal for a set of steak knives. His best is far better than alot on our list. Would have been great to have him this year to be honest with Oliver's hand and Petraccas internal injuries crippling us. I would take him in a heartbeat.
  19. Just wait and see how this shafts us

Hopefully we get another pandemic next year and all our players are locked in a hub again

They are polar opposites but i am not going to call Fritta selfish. I just don't think he is selfless and puts everything on the line for the team first.
  22. Wrecker46 replied to Wrecker46's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I said he is not selfless. Chasing, tackling, corelling or putting defensive pressure on would help his team mates more.

Does anyone remember our mantra in 2021? Oliver was awarded the most selfless player in our drought breaking premiership year. We talk about culture and i think the core to that is, as a collective being selfless. People who don't aspire to that within the club whether the CEO or a Norm Smith medalist aren't part of the future. ANB made a career playing a selfless role and I hope he does well elsewhere. Max spends his weekends visiting young ruckman on our list demoted to the amatuers to go and show support. He had a baby with his lovely wife and takes Oliver in to live with them because he is going through a rough patch. We have others like Fritsch who is a brilliant footballer but doesn't have a selfless bone in his body. We need to get back to what made us great and that was being selfless. How to we become more selfless again?
  24. I mean a wide variety of people who had dealings with him from the markering team, to the coterie, to the sponsors. People don't like somebody who is charming to them when it suits and ignores them completely when it doesn't. I haven't heard he has done this at Melbourne, infact, i've heard employees speak highly of him but make no mistake he left a sour taste at Collingwood across a range of people and bodies he should have engaged better with
  25. I say it and i said it before he came to Melbourne based on what i had heard from multiple sources within Collingwood factions
