  1. Haven’t hugged random strangers like that since Jack Watts’ goal on QB in 2017.
  2. We need another tall forward. I don’t care about Weids ongoing form, I think we need him.
  3. You’re assuming we have the ability to land one of the three ruckmen you mentioned, or someone of that ilk. What if we’ve made enquiries and none are willing to come? We can’t just sit on our hands and hope for the best while Jackson makes his mind up. Of course I agree longevity is paramount for the clubs sustained success but the smart thing for the club to do while the window is open, is make the moves they need to, to ensure we bank flags while we can. Early start tomorrow, off to bed. Appreciate the conversation dazzle.
  4. You get what you pay for. But yes I “realise that”…thanks for checking. The club recognise we are in a 2-3 premiership window. IMHO why take the risk on blokes who have had limited exposure and may simply hold down the main rucking role, for the sake of draft position? I acknowledge there is also an associated risk with Grundy given his injury history however.
  5. So if/when we lose Jackson we are left with a single ruckman who’s 30 years old. While I agree there needs to be a balance…..Let’s say Gawn goes down for a period of time…where is this breed of new talent to step in and replace him in the Ruck? Good teams have made a habit of bringing in experienced, older Ruckmen.
  6. Best possibly result. Want him back for the Pies game.
  7. Finish top 4 and I am confident we will win the flag.
  8. It was legitimately outrageous and no doubt intimidating for a lot of people. I don’t like being put in those situations, but (without trying to sound like a [censored]) can handle myself. It was remarkable how quickly they backed down and wanted to make friends when confronted. One second quacking like a duck to antagonise to “oh I hope you guys beat Carlton” like little [censored] within a split second. Absolute heroes.
  9. Aaaah classy bunch of supporters are the pies. Officially overtaken Essendon as my number one. I’ve never been more on edge at a game with constant baiting and antagonism right through to the train ride home. Called a few out and they immediately went to water. A real bunch of pack mentality heroes. I’m completely livid at this point in time. We SHOULD have won that game, but didn’t. I come away from the game however confident that we will win the flag PROVIDED we continue to fix the forward line. I pray Tom Mac comes back in at some point in time he is crucial. The Pies won this game on slingshot football and you don’t win finals playing that style plain and simple. Their ability to drop back and run forward got us in the end, but Im going to put my balls in the line and say I cannot foresee anyone going with us at the G come finals time. Maybe I’m delusional…
  10. This is impressive with 3 minutes to go.
  11. Nothing horrific about it if we win tomorrow. The AFL have absolutely gifted them a fixture that’s been kissed on the [censored] by angels.
  12. I’m anticipating Gawn will play half the game forward.
  13. I’ve just emailed the club about the auto renewal on these. I’ll let you know when I hear back.
  14. Announcing it late afternoon given it was a 13 hour offer was pretty strange. They would have been better starting it at 9am and running it until 10pm.
  15. Surprised this isn’t on here yet. In the wake of Clarry’s signing the club are offering $13 memberships for 13 hours in the quest to reach 65,000. I just bought two for friends because at that price why wouldn’t you. Get amongst it. https://membership.melbournefc.com.au/membership/13-for-13-hours?fbclid=IwAR0A3-n4IWux_IxWP_-RZMXhmQERs3PsAZ5VK7QdCFIMVXqd7O3SNbfPWGo
  16. 6 Viney The remaining 15 votes scattered like rose petals over the rest of the team.
  17. On the train now next to Titus O’Reilly who seems rather chuffed. Had real concerns in the first quarter but it finally clicked. The zone reformed, the tackling pressure returned, our clean up at ground level began to take shape and the link up handballs that have been missing for the past three weeks happened. Jack Viney, take a bow…you willed us back into that game yourself and the team followed. I had major concerns about the lack of contested marks we’d be able to take but it didn’t matter, it took care of itself. The flow returned. My favourite part of the night was not having to even notice May or Petty after quarter time because they just did their job, allowing the true Jake Lever to take flight. The feeling is good. Let’s hope this is the return of what we want and expect from this team. Go Dees and back in your box Brisbane.
  18. Viney most influential player in the ground by far.
  19. We will not lose Angus Brayshaw.
  20. 5 years on good money. But likely not what WC and Freo are offering.
  21. Despite the knocks on Weid, if it’s to make a difference from what Mitch Brown offers which is absolutely zero, then I’d say he has a pretty good chance.
  22. Literally just said to a mate while we have lots of problems, most of them (imho) are easily fixed.
  23. I feel like I usually have coming home from a game for the past 15 years or so prior to last year. Drank too much and defeated after witnessing that, knowing I have to work tomorrow. Things are bad…but not dire. Despite form we are 10-3 and second on the ladder by percentage. May is so important to our structure it’s unbelievable. He completely [censored] up off field and it has cost us dearly today. I’m sure he knows it too. Lever is nothing without him and once the ball his the ground he’s like a baby giraffe trying to walk. I never thought id say it but I’ve underestimated Tom Macs importance to our side. I was calling for him earlier in the year to make way for Weid…how wrong I was. He leads up, something none of our other forwards currently do and doesn’t just point aimlessly in any direction hoping to get one out the back. He also breaks packs and clunks marks. Our contested mark stats currently must be a shadow of what they have formally been this year. Mitch Brown should not get another game. He serves no purpose and has no impact. Bring in Weid…it’s the only option we have right now. Also, the amount of players willing to dance around the contest instead of cracking in is unacceptable. ANB, Langdon, Spargo, Kozzie, Fritsch to name a few is unacceptable. Absolutely pedestrian today. If this is how it’s going to be going forward then I’d rather lose games like this with blokes who put their head over the ball and put their bodies on the line. There a blokes in an undefeated twos side who would die for a crack. Its no too late, but the club as a whole needs to have a real hard look at themselves. I’m still backing us in….for now.
