Trade and Free Agency rumours
I keep reading about our need for a key fwd, the truth is theres no A grade ones that are available unless you attempt to entice the likes of a McKay way over market value to leave. Do we really want that? We would have to pay McKay over 1 mill per year to force him out of Carlton. So we go to the draft and grab Cadman, he won't be ready straight away. The only solution I can think of that makes sense is including a promising ruck/fwd in the Jackson deal such as Oscar Allen or Lobb. Other than that our salary cap won't allow us to make a 6 figure play at a superstar key fwd.

Training Ground?
Can Kate Roffey and the club please get this sorted out? We will continue getting bent over on the MCG until we have a training ground that allows us to simulate game day on our home deck. Enough talk, more action

POSTGAME: SF vs Brisbane
Gutted. Was like watching a slow motion car crash last night, lost all composure and method with ball in hand as soon as Brisbane increased their intensity. The positional needs were laid bare for everyone to see, a centre half forward and outside mids should be top of the wish list for Jason Taylor. Gameplan needs a real tweak. Let's continue to ply our trade in improving this team defence which is for the most part our biggest asset, but put a ton and I mean a TON of time into connection and forward craft. Look at a new forward coach, offensive co-ordinator... Freshen the ideas up. We have the talent to go again, burn up the track in the off season, make smart recruiting decisions and reconstruct ourselves for another assault at 14.

In Season - Loading/Periodisation: Put your conjecture here.
Coming off a shorter pre season, as well as injuries has taken it's toll. Still can't understate what a profound loss Darren Burgess is. I'm sure Griffith learnt a lot as his understudy but Burgess was a genius.

In Season - Loading/Periodisation: Put your conjecture here.
Wasn't sure where to post this but listening to the pure footy show with David King and Daniel Hoyne from champion data - they were talking about how since round 11 we have a points differential of -97 points in 4th quarters... Only West coast and north are worse. Says plenty about our ability to run out games

CHANGES: SF vs Brisbane
Our team defence slaughters them. We should and will go into this red hot favorites, petracca or not.
-
Our biggest issue is...
Our inability to run out games against good opposition is alarming. Last season we were floating on air in last quarters, this season we look shot. I reiterate against GOOD opposition - we look 2020 like, as soon as pressure is heaped on us our lack of skill to execute is exposed. We get luxuries against average teams which make us look a million bucks but last night was the blue print for how to rattle us. Pressure, harass, and watch us turn it over - don't give us time to set up going back there other way and punish our turnovers. Game over

CHANGES: SF vs Brisbane
Won't happen but Neal Bullen and Salem are in a rich vein of shocking form. Unrecognisable from last season. Goody will run out the same old crew

FINALS 2022: Week 01
Are you allowed to play on the final day of the 12 days?

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
I believe in this team. We have lifted for high stakes interstate matches without fail for the best part of the past 2 years and I don't expect tonight to be any different 👿

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Kozzie racially abused on social media. Called out by Petracca and Clayton. Pathetic and saddening after such a special performance.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Don't think we have as much leverage as you think, if Jackson leaves that leaves us with one ruckman on be list. We're as desperate for Grundy as they are to shed some $

Farewell Brodie Grundy
If this Grundy trade were to happen we would most likely be asked to flip one of the Jackson 1st rounders to the pies.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
I'm not sold on the Gawn forward move. Been torched by his accuracy on goal more than once. Sure he can clunk them but it will only exacerbate our inability to convert if we lean on that move even more heavily than we are now. Would much rather chase a KPF who can put them through the big sticks with high regularity.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Slept on it now to give a proper analysis of what I witnessed at the G last night. We should have put the game to bed by half way through the 3rd, however I will say apart from Max in the first quarter, Koz on the run dead in front from 40 and possibly Salem's 50 metre penalty miss, all of our shots were quite low percentage shots. Why? Because we don't have the forward line mix that lead to dangerous spots, nor a midfield that have the foot skills to pick out such leads. Not using the corridor to any effect is not helping. Composure. It was an insane asylum at times with the crowd noise and we either ran out of legs or panicked, the transferral of pressure by hand to someone in a worse position really needs to be looked at - its 2020 -type play that I thought we had moved past. Hibberd, Langdon, Jordon and Oliver were the biggest culprits of this. Credit to Collingwood their frontal pressure was immense and we really crumbled. Ground ball crumbs in the D50. Shame on our mids last night, to allow the likes of Mihocek and Johnson to waltz through and crumb their own marking contests was embarrassing. Our back 6 was all at sea in D50 for most of the night too and they looked vulnerable for the first time in a long time. They looked like a high chance of scoring every time they went in.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Tell me something worse than losing to that mob in that manner. Absolutely gutted. So many missed opportunities...

CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Is Harmes walk up best 22 anymore? I actually rated the balance of the team more with Hunt breaking some lines off HBF and Gus in the middle. Looked quite potent.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Relevant to Jackson as if he leaves Andrew would have become our second ruck with a similar athletic profile to Luke - and now the ruck stocks might be extremely thin unless we get a B grade backup this trade period.
-
Farewell Luke Jackson
Saw Mac Andrew is debuting for GC this week. It still pisses me off that we got robbed of our academy player cause the AFL decided to change the rules the one year we finally had a decent prospect... after years of other clubs reaping the rewards.

Melbourne & Mark Neeld: It Wasn’t All Bad
Now that's a positive spin if I ever saw one

TEAMS: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
I daresay Melksham will sit on Bailey Dale who has been pivotal to the dogs ball movement this year. I also rated his unselfish attitude inside and around the arcs, he's always been a decent field kick. Willing to give him another chance after a solid outing last week

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Clayton looked really bothered by his hand injury. Hope it's nothing significant
-
CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
I have a left field idea. What about throwing Petty forward? He started there in his career and looked decent. We know he can take a mark, we know he's competitive when the ball hits the deck. Leave Tommo in, drop Ben Brown, swing Harry forward
