Hi Old Dee, I can't work out how Carlton winning is favourable to Goodwin/MFC... elaborate?

Preuss and Gawn in those conditions? Baker? Smith? Man. We carry way too many NQR players for a team that thinks they're in finals contention. How is it that Rivers in his first handful of games has more poise than our leaders? I'll tell you why it is because he hasn't been at this club long enough for it to zap any natural talent out of him. We look so directionless with the ball in our possession. Still filthy about this game. Everything to play for and the club as a collective unit pizt it down the drain. It's already been touched on but: Selection: Wagner, Smith, OMac, Jones, Melksham So many bizarre selection choices, Jones was so obviously hampered by that quad... even in the second quarter he didn't want to kick on his right leg. He cost us two goals trying to kick on his left. Forget the 300, he's costing us 4 points at he moment. Melksham has been gifted games all year and I'm sick to death of it. Get him out of the team. The first three are not AFL standard. We are just front running losers who cannot scrap wins against teams we have more talent then. Sydney's kids wanted it more. Simple as that. Get stuffed MFC.

Geelong wouldn't do that for one of pick 15 or 17 let alone both. Preuss is worth a 3rd rounder at best. He's a big frame but a pretty poor ruckman in all honesty

Seriously good player this kid. Plays with the poise of a 100 game player in his first season. Last night's game should completely shut the gate on the Harmes at half back experiment

Not sure about the merit of that team rule comment. Have seen multiple players having pings from pretty far out, namely Trac, Hannan, Melksham to name a few. Agree regarding the opening up of the forward line comment - our forward structure is a mess. One obvious point I would make is that our lack of forward pressure is really killing us. Our mids are consistently put on the back foot when the opposition walk it out of the D50 like they've been allowed at stages this year (especially last night). When we were at our best in patches over the past 4 years, we've been able to lock the ball in our half of the ground with tackle pressure on the ball carrier exiting our 50. This gives the mids the best shot at scoring from inside 50 stoppages. I'm sure there are a multitude of factors, however it's kind of an E=MC x forward pressure situation. Without defensive pressure in our zone we are toast.

With respect, we were moving the ball as quickly if not quicker in 2018 and our midfielders were kicking goals every week. 2018: ANB - 27 goals Jones, Harmes - 15 goals Brayshaw - 14 goals Gawn - 13 goals Oliver - 12 goals *EDIT* not including Trac as he was a forward. ANB could be lumped in with the forwards too but he was also a link player through the middle. Makes zero sense why this contribution from our most important players has regressed as significantly as it has.

It is unrecognizable from 2018. Goodwin playing favourites has to stop. Brayshaw needs to be dropped indefinitely. Rivers and Salem at the very least MUST be part of the midfield rotation, they can use the footy and would offer a point of difference to the inside mids. Harmes has to tag and nothing else, the experiment off half back is over. Ben Mathews please stand up? What have you done to this group? Heads must roll.

Footy is won and lost in the midfield - and ours is currently all at sea. To emphasize how enormous of an issue this has become, here is a summation of our midfield's contribution to the scoreboard so far this season. Trac - 7 goals Viney - 3 goals Brayshaw - 2 goals Harmes - 1 goal Oliver, Langdon, Gawn, Tomlinson, Vandenberg - 0 goals From 8 games, this is a diabolical return. Least damaging midfield in the comp. How do we fix this? Who do we move on?

First time long time. Going to start by saying been a supporter for 30 years and have stuck fat through some of the most insipid performances year in year out. I'm as loyal as they come. But like many on here, something has simply got to give. It is obvious to everybody that 2018 was the residual value of Paul Roos' tenure, and Goodwin took all the credit. Even in 2018, we got smashed up by good teams. The vast majority of the list has gone backwards individually. We honestly must be one of the easiest teams to plan against - it's chaos ball or nothing. As soon as we drop off in defensive pressure like last night, we lost 100 times out of 100. This is as stark of a coaching issue as I can remember, the best teams have multiple different ways in which they can win. We have one. I'll continue supporting this mob as I know no other way, but the footy department needs an overhaul. I would be saying this even if we won last night. Build a footy department that will get the best out of this current crop before it's too late, please MFC. For the sake of all of the supporters who are increasingly becoming disinterested in the fortunes of this club.

That's a stupid comment. We don't miss hogan, just everything that he offered, which we haven't looked close to replacing.
