We could be Geoffrey Edelsten’s plaything or maybe Clive Palmer’s! No Thanks I like the idea of being a member of a publically owned footy club!

I took out a$15 per month 12 month sub a few weeks ago, can cancel anytime! So no sport, no continue!

Just checked back on the replay: according to McDonald it was Petracca. Makes sense really as Salem is a wee bit more reserved while Petracca has a reputation for being a bit of a card!

I’ve just watched the 4th quarter again especially for Tom McDonalds excellent comments. Quite insightful they were. He’s a pretty smart bloke! Nice to hear his thoughts on Max as captain and the whole leadership affair.

I’ve heard it said that being a member of an elite football club is like being in the army: a 24 hour a day job where you are told what to do and when to do it to such an extent that on leaving one feels lost! A big reason the club encourages players to study for a life after football. And having just watched the video, I’m going to have a cup of tea a bex and a lie down!

I found it an interesting insight into the club, and it’s also playing at a cinema near you I.e. the AFL web site. Just think of all the nice comments it’ll receive from all those wonderful opposition supporters!

How about Allan La Fontaine or Jack Mueller from the glorious 1939,1940, 1941 premiership side.

Having played together at Gold Coast, May put in a good word to Bennell about the Dee’s and convinced him to come on board. So I believe.

I’m not sure there would be a stadium in LA with a playing surface large enough to accommodate a game of Australian Football! The MCG playing surface Is about 4.8 acres in size. In comparison, an American Football pitch covers an area of about 1.3 acres. There may be parks of suitable size around LA but many years ago when I lived there the only large parks were public ones. I suppose they could rope off a bit of public park land, play an exhibition match while holding a sausage sizzle and selling fosters or XXXX while extolling the virtues of Australia (Australia? where’s that, I was often asked)

Big Carl was captain/coach of the Dee’s in ‘79. I particularly remember his last game against Collingwood where he went about clobbering every opposition player in sight, very entertaining and something one doesn’t see these days.

Geeeee, Bruce’s probably found another love child to replace Cyril. Oh Kossy, Kossy, Kossy (I feel nauseous already)!

To all you track watchers, Not many reports on Ed Langdon, how’s he progressing? Fitting in OK?

Through the fog of memory, I seem to recall Jimmy Stynes very early in his career being shuffled of to Prahran to learn how to play the game. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s what I recall. And (again through the fog of time) I seem to recall Jimmy in later years attending a Prahran end of season celebration.

What about the ones who got away/didn’t make it for one reason or another. Lousy coaching, lousy culture, whatever. Watts, Scully, Trengove, Grimes, Toumpas, Stef Martin, Liam Jurrah, Colin Sylvia etc. etc. Lost players, lost opportunities abound!

Who’s better off’? Probably a question best answered by a Jesuit or philosopher. However I’m sure Pendlebury has few regrets about his career (other than not playing for his beloved Demons)!

Just 3? I bet he’s good at tennis and golf as well: lucky b******! And I bet he could even be good at bocce!!

The decade does not finish until the end of next year, so we still have time to improve our ranking! Go Dee’s
