Farewell Jesse Hogan
Iām not too sure about TMac down back. But Hogan is versatile enough to play in a number of positions including CHB (where heās played in his junior days). Keeping Hogan gives us more flexibility than letting him go. At his best the kidās a beast - a beast with real talent. And they donāt grow on trees. And he could bite us in the bum playing for another team.

Thanks Cameron Pedersen
Last 2 minutes of game against bummers 2014, Pedo slippers tackle on half back boundary, fires off handball to Jordie McKenzie and ball eventually lands in Salemās hands, Deeās win by a couple of points. MAGIC! Thanks Cam, good to have had you on board.

Martin Flanagan's Ode to the MFC
Just wonderful! Flanagan has been my favourite sports journalist since many years ago he wrote a superb piece in The Age about Robert Flower. There is no one else in sports journalism who uses language as beautifully as he does. And his brother Richardās rather good as well?.

MFC - the original owner of the MCG
The ground is crown land and the MCC are responsible for its maintenance with the state government looking over the MCCās shoulder.

1964 memories- calling our older supporters
I attended a school in Brighton in the 50ās early 60ās, our football team wore a jumper exactly the same as Melbourneās (same colours but different design these days). I can remember a few Melbourne players coming down to our ground to train on a couple of occasions, Mithen, Case not sure who else. Of course Melbourne was the absolute power house of the VFL in those days and the really really daggy team was Hawthorn. And just as an aside, one name that doesnāt crop up too often in discussions about the good old days is Brian āDocā Roet, great sold half back who I believe went and practiced medicine in the UK. Otherwise if youāre looking for John Lord or Bryan Kenneally youāll find them both working as volunteer tour guides for the MCC.

My Melbourne highlights from Semi Final
A couple of minutes into the first quarter. They kicked a point and Frost kicked the ball almost to the centre circle and after a couple of handballs the ball landed in Hannanās hands who kicked it to Tom Mc D. Goal! End to end in 20 seconds - Magic!

My Melbourne highlights from Semi Final
That Frost torp set the tone for the night. And the crowd WOW. Donāt tell me we are a small club, there are too many supporters tucked away in greater metropolitan Melbourne just waiting for the revival to start - and it has, in the jargon of the marketing suits āthe Melbourne Football Club has become very sexyā, Max, Viney, Brayshaw, Tom McD are among the most sellable players in the AFL, and games like last Friday nights did us no harm at all.

MCC Membership
If you go into the MCC membership office on the ground floor MCC entrance on a non match day they may well be able to help you find a couple of full members to sign your form. Then you just wait.......and wait...and wait, but itās worth it!

Channel 7__ please replay Demons V Cats
For anyone with a Telstra account, get the AFL live app and watch full replays the next day. Not the best resolution but better than nothing. However the best option is to purchase a personal video recorder (PVR) and record from free to air when ever Melbourne is on ch7 ( quite often this year and probably more next)! PVRās can be had for less than $300 and are a good investment for footy fans. Many also have archive capability so games can be transferred to USB stick or DVD.

Gawny on Game Day (2/9)
Point 1) on topic: Max could do stand up, no worries. Point 2) off topic: try making your own pizza, easy, cheap and twice as good as thin crust commercial crap.

Sunday's crowd vs GWS
Apparently the GWS supporter caught the bus down from Sydney last Friday and was seen outside Myer Melbourne on Saturday calling for charitable supporters to accompany him to the match the next day. A few pitied him and turned up?.
-
Sunday's crowd vs GWS
The official estimate by the MCC was 37,000, with around19 to 20,000 estimated in the MCC reserve.

Slamming Sam Frost
As exciting as Hunt but a damned sight more powerful. A great game yesterday, thrilling to watch.

Which Dee has X-Factor?
Agree, Harmes has something about him that makes him very dangerous. The surprise packet of 2018. Heās an opportunist who is just beginning to realise how dangerous he could be.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 22
And all the better to do it against them in the West. Great job boys yippee, yippee etc etc (Iām off to have a large beet)!

Six Demons in 22Under22 squad
While I donāt think James Harmes will make the final 22 (but you never know), this nomination certainly recognises the sheer dedication this kid has put into his game since being elevated off the rookie list. Maybe not A grade but certainly a very solid B to B+.

Melbourne and Matthews
And I Believe that prior to itās erection Don Cordner -(who I think was MCC President at the time) opposed it, apparently saying something along the lines of not wanting a criminals statue outside the ground. Steve Smithās mum chased Matthews around a supermarket soon after that incident with her son, giving him a bit of what for.

Congratulations Bernie Vince on 100 MFC Games
The Crows sure could have used Bernie over the last few seasons but... their loss..Our gain! Thanks Adelaide. Thanks Bernie.

Branding Max
In this world we are all just commodities in a faceless market place. And Max is useful to the market for the moment.

Nic Nat and Max Gawn
No. I spoke to Jim Stynes at a function just before the ā08 draft, he was worried about the go home factor as well. It was a big factor in picking Watts, even though I had the feeling NicNat was rated higher.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Agree, just watched the replay of the match, Charlie doesnāt take a backward step! And to all those who said he was too small - phooey! The kidās fitted in really well, he and Fitsch were really great pickups.
