  1. No one said it about the past 2 drafts. Riley Beverage, who follows the up and coming kids says its almost a super draft but he isn't willing to call it. This year he recons the top 3 are stand outs but then after that it's much of a muchness
  2. Yeh I was just thinking this
  3. FF: Fritsch Brown Picket HF: Chandler T-Mac Harmes C: Langdon Viney Jordon HB: Salem Petty Lever FB: Bowie May Rivers Foll: Gawn Oliver Petracca Int: Brayshaw JVR Sparrow Spargo Emg: Bedford Dunstan Tomlinson Turner Out: Melksham(retire?), Hibberd(retire?), Baker(Delisted), Jackson(Freo), M. Brown(retire?) Allow them to look for a trade: Weidemen, Hunt, ANB, Bedford,
  4. Apparently 2023 Draft is going to be a ripper, and the draft watchers are saying alot of clubs will try a trade out of this year and into next year, so maybe not. But if we get a first rounder this year for Jackson then maybe we trade that.
  5. Positives are: Clarry, Trac, Brayshaw, Fritsch, May, Langdon Jj, Viney, Cossie, Gawn and Petty had a very good year. Bowie, JVR, Rivers, Laurie, Turner and Chandler are developing nicely. Membership The fact we finished second even with a poor back second half to the year. Club administration looks to be strong and uniform.
  6. Agree, buy thats also the difference after you make the GF. Everyone else gets a better rest and an earlier start
  7. In 2018 and 21 year old Sam Weideman came into the Melb side to replace Hogan and kicked 3 v hawks and 2 v Geel. If JVR comes in this week maybe it could be a repeat? pure optimism, i can't see him coming in but who knows.
  8. i think everyone has given up on McStay, i like the thinking though. Coll have already said they will pay #300k of Grundy's salary, which is great and i don't think it will get much better than that.
  9. Yeh it does sound strange, has been no chat about Grundy being done injury wise. and you would think we would do a very vigorous medical like we did with Bennell. I'm very interested to see how it works. I think Collingwood have been sucked in by the form of Cameron and obviously salary cap issues
  10. I agree, but he is the only Key fwd on the market so gotta beat everyone to get him. very well timed by McStay, even if it is just luck
  11. Treloar trade was: Coll trade: Treloar, 26, 33 and 42 and received: 14 and a future 2nd so maybe 35(2nd rd) and a future first pick for Grundy 42, 47,48( all second rounders) This is just based of current picks, Melb have always been proactive in moving around future picks so they might try something there to move up the draft. Coll are reportedly bringing in McStay (reported 650k a year) and Bobby Hill. as well as interest in Mitchell and now want to keep De Goey and reports say they are offering him the contract they withdrew after his Bali incident. This is good for us as it means they need Grundy's salary gone (whilst still paying 300k a year) I'm still not sold on the Grundy/Gawn combo, but goody and the coaching staff obviously see a strategy there for us to be this interested so i'll back them in.
  12. Reports saying T-Mac isn't ready which is a bummer. with that my changes are: IN: Smith (i can't believe i am saying that), Brown or JVR (sub) Out: ANB with clouds over Melk, Trac and Fritta i think we need to have a fwd as sub, with smith being able to go back if we need cover down there.
  13. In: T-Mac, Bowie Out: ANB, Hunt Bringing in T-Mac allows Jackson just to play ruck and concentrate on what he is best at, unfortunately he has no forward nous and doesn't offer a lot up forward. but as a pure ruck of the bench i think this will help us much more. Hunt just can't handle high pressure games, and this has happened over and over for him. i also don't mind him staying in, but if we were to play Sydney again he can't play in that game. Melsham could also be the out for T-Mac, but i think he played his role well and could have also been on the end of 2 goals. Salem didn't have a good night no but was tagged by a guy that has taken down the AA and many other quality HBF in the comp, he is AA quality himself, stays in. Only other change might be Harmes if he is suspended, which he should be ok. but not sure who comes in for him with JJ injured, maybe Chandler or Bedford
  14. Very disappointing, our midfield weren't smart enough today. tried to get too much clean exits and turned it over with poor handballs. Syd on the other hand moved the ball forward quick and long by foot from stoppages. May had an outstanding game as did petty, be we really struggle with Sydney's smaller fwd line players. we really needed T-Mac today, and i dunno if it Melksham that goes out. I usually a hater but he played an important role and should have kicked 2 goals. not handballing back to spargo really hurt us though. ANB is really out of form and does some real head scratching things, maybe he makes way. we didn't handle the pressure and need to get batter, but we have a 2nd chance
  15. He was injured alot of this year. but played good footy in the VFL and made his way back onto the Emergencies for the AFL side. obviously didn't play the way Mitchell wanted. was bloody good at the Pies, and our wing depth is our weakest area, considering we can pay him peanuts and waste nothing in terms of picks could be a handy depth player. also just as happy to get a kid and develop him
  16. Good Luck everyone, barrack hard wherever you are! Carn Dees
  17. 12 disp, 7 marks, 4 tackles and 1 goal 1. If Melksham does that this week we will be praising him. He is 20 and in his first actual year of playing AFL, all those other things can be tidied up. be hard to get into a side that's won 12 of 13 or whatever it is. i don't think he should be our target to answer our prayers, just the fact he is un-contracted and unhappy with collingwood's offer means he is gettable and on the cheap
  18. I think he can be, has the leap to do it. once he builds a bigger body Yeh not alot of clubs have a gun second fwd, besides Gell, Bris and to a lesser extent Rich. which is why McStay can ask as much as he is
  19. he is already bigger than Fritsch and is only 20. He will fill out and become a powerful fwd. agree he is shorter. but by the time he stops growing he will be around 190cm. which isn't much different to most 2nd talls. I've watched a bit of him at VFL level, he play key fwd well. we are pretty lucky in the fact that JVR looks good too and obviously is currently 193cm so should grow another couple before he stops growing.
  20. he is, and plays there in the VFL for Coll.
  21. ruck dominance makes a bigger impact when you have a good midfield, which rich don't.
  22. He is and has been for his NAB footy and when he has played for Coll. which i pointed out in the other part of my post.
  23. Oliver can Play as a second Tall. Played FF in the games he has played for Coll and showed he can do it. And only at 20. 190cm is a good height and as he gets bigger he can become a beast. He is built very different to Fritsch and will be alot bigger. Can see him becoming a Mihocek type.
  24. Yeh thats fine. But they aren't available. Henry is. And at half the price. I'd Love King a FF or a McKay, but it's not gonna happen.
  25. Na, watching Henry this year he hits packs. And only his first year in the AFL. He would play T-Mac's role. Might not be as tall but can jump higher. A future fwd line of JVR, Henry and Fritta it a good one.
