I would like to think that's correct - that he met with them in order to tell them to eff off.

I don't know but I think it is feasible. What is less feasible is any suggestion that you are not a front for Lawrence, and you should disclose that, with details.
-
If you mean that they implemented a recommendation of the independent review by obtaining the retirement of and then replacing a board member who perhaps wasn't performing then that Is the point of a review. If by doing it this way they kept troublemaker Lawrence off the board, that is a great great side-effect. Now when are you going to come clean about your involvement which seems to include access to transcript?

Yes, we are appalling in all facets of the game compared to them, as was demonstrated when they absolutely annihilated us at the Gabba by 5 points.

Preuss?

The reason Cripps got 45 votes is clearly because they have no other good midfielders. We have had CP5 and Clarry fighting each other (metaphorically) for votes. If CP5 really does want to go, Carlton clearly need him....

Neither could I

The question is: are Sydney a good team having a shocker in a granny AGAIN, with Horse being not much of a coach, or are they an average team who overperformed and are now getting found out? In the latter case, Horse is a very good coach.

I tonight it was hilarious when they said the damage to my house from an earthquake was simple ground settlement.

McCluggage's disposal is the best in the league IMV. Would love to have him and Lohmann at the Dees.

Would be better than much of the entertainment usually is

CORRECT!!!! We have tried to copy the superbowl and it just makes us look like hicks. The problem is, the AFL has no faith in its product. It doesn't believe that people might actually go to the footy to watch the footy.

Don't be ridiculous! Do you think we have the attention spans of goldfish? Kate Roffey left for one reason only: because she unfortunately made a complete mess of an interview. We are starting to see progress on the key, and extremely difficult, issue of a home base. She oversaw two premierships and multiple top four seasons. Now get off your Lawrence bike and come clean about your agenda.

Nathan Bassett to Dees as Forwards Coach?

I think the poster meant Sheedy -
Give me a break! Read the above posts!!

Just as it is no coincidence that 3 of the last 4 premiers have failed to reach the finals yet following year. The AFL is extending the season to absurd lengths and of course the grand finalists start their preseason late, so it is inevitably unsatisfactory.

I said a while ago that although the only sensible course - as endorsed by Speed - would be to keep the outcome of the review confidential, there would be people on here who would insist that that is a cover -up etc, in some unknown way benefits the club to show the world any faults that are found. It looks like that has already started.
-
I expect they are going - and I sincerely hope that the outcomes are dealt with quietly, behind the scenes, as previously discussed, and as recommended by Malcolm Speed, which would have the pleasing side effect of not letting you and your crony Lawrence - and you still haven't come clean about the nature of your relationship with him, by the way - give the media fodder for further abuse and destabilisation of the club and its administration.

Would NOT want to lose Chaplin as our backline coach - he does it superbly. -
Absolutely renewing. I remember the years that turned into decades when we were nowhere near the finals. The club I love is competitive and has some wonderful players and I will support them every way I can.

I thought that as a ruckman he was quite good, and as a forward he is a man mountain. I don't know what he's like as a bloke, and what he's like at training, but he certainly has had a lot of bad luck with injuries. I still think he'd be worth a go so long as he didn't have huge expectations of being in the first every week.

You say that it is oversimplifying to think that the only thing that matters in assessing a coach is flags. Unbelievable! The amount of criticism that Goody has received on this forum, on the basis that with his unrivalled list (with which Fagan, Voss and others might disagree) he has only won one flag: sorry, but you can't have it both ways. His supporters, including me, think that he was given a promising list and a healthy administration and developed a team which since 2020 has been EXTREMELY competitive (with the exception of the last few matches this year with no Petracca, Oliver in a terrible state and Gawn with a broken leg). I don't know if we are the MOST successful team in the last five years but we are right up there. On that measure he can't be criticised.

Really pleased to see that you read my post and are following my suggestion.

I agree, pathetic. Goody would never do that.
