Actually, with both those teams it was 1-1 for the season. With Geelong and Hawthorn it was 1-0 - we played those two teams only once each.
-
It's how you win games against teams that can't defend. We beat Geelong and Hawthorn, you know.
-
I have been thinking about this a bit. Unlike many other clubs, the Melbourne supporter base is not at all localised. Geelong, Footscray and to a lesser extent others get massive government funding which is sheer pork-barreling, because it swings voters in a given electorate. We don't have that pull. And that is no-one's fault.

I actually have always thought he gets the best out of a list which has huge holes in it. And he seems like a top bloke. However, as anyone who has read my posts - all one of you- world know, I am not dissatisfied with the current coach.
-
These 180 degrees different opinions show how unreliable rumours are. This denigration of a champion who has had one average season, playing most of it with a badly broken dominant hand, shows why I think this whole load of rubbish is potentially bad for his mental health.
-
And a reasonable offer for a four time B and F, 3 x AA, 2x Coaches Assocn best player, would be ....... Perhaps Cripps and Bont in a package. Players like Clarry - which is an oxymoron anyway - don't grow on trees.
-
It's the suggestion that Melbourne might consider it that would do damage. And I very much doubt if that is true.
-
With just a few tens of millions of government support....
-
If you don't understand it, try harder! It's not rocket science. The only consequences of this posting, whether intended or not, are to sow doubt in Clarry's mind and thus risk all the gains that have been made, to get all us supporters upset, and thus to bignotethe original poster. The post you commented on was really talking about, why post it, not whether there is any minuscule foundation.

Let's use our brains. To GET him a club would have to offer at least two low first-rounders and take over all his salary. Who is going to do that at this stage of his career? On the other hand, we have invested a great deal of effort into helping a player who has been one of the top 5 or so players EVER to play for Melbourne, and who is now totally committed to repaying the club for that. It won't happen. And if WCW is right and players read this garbage, that would be a terrible thing for his mental health and recovery.

She "popped up" at the football - which, regrettably, is finished for the year, for us.

Love it!!!! And we can call it AFL XX!

Roffey had one poor interview. Other than that, she has generally presented pretty well but she is not a media-hogger like Kennett or Maguire. Pert says what needs to be said: Surely you don't expect him to say publicly (even if it were true which I don't think it is) , " The club is a mess, we will be wooden-spooners next year etc etc etc" - he deflects questions and gets on with his job - which includes financial viability, record membership, and generally excellent on field results, but for this year (and the reasons for that have been discussed ad nauseam).

Are you Hawk the Demon renamed?
-
Looking at the Twitter feed, Bont and Darcy are both looking to leave the dogs. In other words, this is just cr.p.
-
Agree. Honestly: we are the most successful club in the competition over the last 4-5 years (and yes, of course I know that this year has been a very poor one); we have record membership; we are financially viable; the players continually sign on for stable deals to remain at the club - i think the administration is doing something right. One thing I know for certain from decades of following AFL: when you have administration fights, a club's performance deteriorates immediately and disastrously.

The next time Damian Barrett says something good about the MFC will be the first time. He hates us. He is so pro-Geelong it's beyond funny.

Maynard, Pickett, Christian and justice and fairness.
Ollie fan replied to Monbon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jeepers, Monbon - why don't you tell us what you REALLY feel? But I agree with every word you said. He is a total t..d and watching those "highlights" makes me remember why I hate Collingwood. -
I just thought I might start a positive thread - let's celebrate big Maxxy's 7th AA!!! Well done, Max: You are a champion!

What a waste of space this thread is!

As i recall it he was in favour of the tanking way back when.... Great player, great supporter, but.....
-
Don't want him. Can't forgive him for all the rubbish about "I don't know if I'll leave" when he knew perfectly well - and played like it IMHO.
-
It's truly a process of elimination, isn't it? In which case, out the door go Geelong, Carlton, Brisbane and Hawthorn in a hurry. GWS are inoffensive except for Toby Greene (I have a long memory; enough said). That leaves 3 contenders; I admire John Longmire.
-
He's a28yo HBF. NOOOOO!!!!!
-
Surely Carlton losing was karma after that disgraceful act by their "supporter".
