  1. Well, it got us a bit more than that. Er, it got us a flag, remember? Which is more than Kingsley has achieved.
  2. I know this will not be a popular thought BUT The players clearly love Goody. There are question marks about his coaching. If he is forced to leave, quite a few players might be pretty upset. I know they are professionals but a happy team is a happy team. Suggestion: Goody replaces Richo, new coach is appointed. A bit like how Neil Balme was loved by players but couldn't coach (NOT that I am saying Goody can't coach!) but has been VERY successful in a role that keeps him near the players but out of the coach's hot seat.
  3. Good!! Go and barrack for Collingwood and stop annoying us here!
  4. According to all the critics, we didnt need to trade in A grade talent because our list, which Goody obviously destroyed, was so absolutely wonderful. At least, that's the theme. Brisbane, WB, Geelong, and GWS supporters might have had the heretical view that their lists were as good as, or even better, than ours. Of course, it is possible that the list was very good but not perfect and that Goody did a great job in winning a premiership.
  5. FFS can you and other people quoting my post please read it first?? The main point was about the mindless repetition of the same thing! Which continues in the replies to what I said!
  6. I love this thread. 175 Pages of endless variety: Goody is hopeless, he's got to go, he's got to go, Goody is hopeless, Goody is hopeless, he's got to go..... It's so positive and uplifting! Real true supporters!
  7. And how is Petty? Is he over his concussion? And what are your thoughts on Kentfield? - should he be given a run, just so he can see what is required at the top level?
  8. I just love seeing people treat our premiership champions with honour and respect. Tracc is still struggling. He will come good. I thought Oliver's first quarter was excellent - his quick hands and his vision were back. But then he was asked to tag. I don't agree with that. Leave that to JV or Chin.
  9. The weakening thing is: you could see on Tracc's face as he was lining up that he knew he would miss and don't want to kick it. Reminded me of Eishold, 1987 prelim
  10. Thanks for the eternal optimism.
  11. I think he has an x-factor. He doesn't get involved enough and has few possessions but as discussed above, there are reasons for that. I am happy for us to persevere with him.
  12. I was reading this thread, and golly, there is some misinformation here! It seems that Lever had. a shocker yet I see on the AFL website that he took 13(!!!!!) marks. I would like to get good info from Demonland but all I see is how terrible Goody is, how all our players are spuds, how dreadful our administration is, etc etc etc
  13. I'd like him. I think one problem with our present key forwards is that they are all learners at the game. An experienced key forward - eg Tom Hawkins - knows instinctively how to lead so as to DEMAND proper delivery. We don't need smalls. Kossie is a champion and Chandler is very underrated. And although many on DL don't recognise it, Fritta is an x-factor - neither tall nor small, an excellent mark, a very difficult matchup.
  14. Completely agree. He looked great. And the fact that he kicked two goals will make him feel good vibes about the Dees; I truly hope he comes to us.
  15. He wasn't called "lethal Leigh" for no reason.
  16. My two bobs' worth: it's great. He is fantastic to watch, incredible ability to get out of trouble cleanly, galvanises the team, can turn a game. And if it means we get a few more Picketts over the years, that's got to be a good thing.
  17. Just watching the game again I notice two things (and I'm only in the second quarter): Sparrow's goal in the first - look at Sidebottom jumping side to side on the mark while 2 Collingwood players are in the protected area - nothing. Later Lindsay gets a 50 against him for far less. Early in the second quarter, HTB against Quaynor - he is on the ground holding it, and as he gets up he just leaves the ball on the ground - nothing. Cost us a goal against Kossie later in the game.
  18. For all those criticising Clarrie and Trac on this thread: go and have a look at Jeff White's analysis on his thread, and see how well they are doing their job.
  19. What a fabulous analysis. And it shows just how good our main midfielders are, in ways that, without the analysis, I for one would have no idea about.
  20. One of the criticisms he has faced is lack of adaptability. What about giving him credit for the brilliant move of Langdon onto Nick Daicos?
  21. You are very hard on Sparrow and Chandler, who were both excellent IMV
  22. I came to this street after the game, wind there would be [censored] blaming this on Goodwin. Goodwin clearly won the coaching battle. His plans completely nullified Elliott and Hill, and stopped the Collingwood run pretty much in its tracks for most of the time. Not his fault that we can't kick fit goal, And lost free kicks 29 to 20. Or that Max did an absolutely terrible kick at a crucial time. But go ahead and bag Goody....
  23. Completely agree. He is not a defender. I think he should do a straight swap with X who I think would be superb in that role, on the opposite side to McVee.
  24. Watching them warm up, once again I am reminded of how much the Kolt looks like the great Jako. Oh, wouldn't it be wonderful if today he chose to play like him!
  25. With McStay in we may well regret not having TMac.
