Gee, I would never have guessed that you, and some others, thought that. I had no idea that some people considered that we were disappointing in the finals in 22 and 23. Here an idea: Why don't you, and other likeminded posters, bring it to our attention by mentioning it about 20 times per page on each and every thread on this site? But make sure that you don't mention the losing margins in the finals last year, or the injury list, or the poor kicking for goal by a number of generally reliable players....
-
What the hell does that mean? Why would we be? We won't be and it us a ridiculous post.
-
Yep, we aren't in their league, obviously, with our terrible game plan, hopeless coach and dreadful culture. Not to mention appalling list management. Funny how we got closer to them than Geelong did - and in Brisbane..... 5 points.....
-
... that needed time to mature and learn to win together, as opposed to a team that has won two flags in the previous four years. Geelong get advantages in so many levels starting with government handouts . And what about the media? The original article praised him for how he handled Strngle! Can you imagine what would have happened if that had been a Melbourne player, and the carryon there wouldhave been about culture? He got a free ride, as Geelong always do.

What I love about the last sentence is that there is no way it can be challenged or disproved, even though I believe it is rubbish.

Please please please no

Thanks for posting about football, Hawk - I am saying that seriously - and I agree with you about Grundy.
-
That is a horrible horrible post. As for Stringer: a disaster that would be.
-
I'd have him. Ideal backup .
-
I'd have him back, as backup.

A lot of people seem to forget that he has a GREAT deal of catching up to do with fitness after an enforced 3 month layoff. I am all for his plans. They are the best thing for him to do.
-
Yes there is - we might waste a high draft pick on a mature/aging HBF.
-
That assumes that Lawrence would have given the money he spent on costs, to the club. I have no reason to believe that, although I accept he has been a generous donor (? Trying to buy his way on to the board?) Anyway, you will have read the other posters telling you you are going backwards - and until you tell us the truth about your involvement with Lawrence, I am sure that will continue.
-
Hawk, first of all, why don't you answer some of the questions about your direct involvement in this matter? Your failure to do so is absolutely telling. Secondly, you seem to forget that whilst concessions were made along the way in the trial, ultimately Lawrence continued to pursue the case in the eventually fruitless pursuit of the opportunity to drag Melbourne through a public circus every time there is an election. He lost on that point. As far as most members are concerned, I think we are particularly glad that he did because there is enough bad media about the football club in any event. In defending this position, MFC incurred costs; yes, they didn't recover them from Lawrence, but he didn't recover his costs from them either. He appears to be a rich man determined to spend whatever it takes to pursue his personal ambitions. Do most of us find that appealing? No. Anyway, with the somewhat good news about a home, I expect all of this Lawrence rubbish will get forgotten, and not a moment too soon.

PF, we know you think that. Many of us disagree.
-
I don't think many people hate Longmire, who is generally considered a very good coach. I don't think they hated Parkin or Blight, either. Re the post from Watson11: we have to remember that a coach who has lasted 8 seasons is probably much better than many coaches. Poor coaches don't last anything like that long. So the statistics are against quality, not coaches as a whole.

Interesting to see that you are clearly following this thread, but choosing not to reply to the issues that have been raised about you, a "simple supporter".
-
That disingenuous statement, a" simple supporter ", really does undermine everything you say.
-
I knew you would not answer his questions. And Hawk, don't take us for fools: you are not a "simple supporter". You are clearly involved with Lawrence; the question is, how deeply?
-
Skuit is not seeking personal information but is trying to identify bias/motive
-
Your questions are all very good and I doubt if we will get answers.
-
You never give up, do you? More Lawrence sycophancy.
-
At last, a bit of a balanced approach.
-
As i understand it, that was regarded as the greatest of the Norm Smith teams.

Good point
