Does it, "give you wings".? Maybe a couple of cans for TMc this week, as well.? ? -
What happens to the draft in 2020
MyFavouriteMartian replied to deelusions from afar's topic in Melbourne Demons
My draft priorities would be a Quick running midfielder with elite disposal skills. And an athletic 193-4cm highly skilled mobile running back. A Qtr back style. Between TMc, Weide, Brown, Petty, & Jackson, I think we are OK, as far as young forward draftees are concerned. However if trading in a known forward, that is a different proposition... eg: Wright or Fogarty.? -

Oliver: The Forgotten Superstar?
MyFavouriteMartian replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
How far is it, from the centre-circle to the 50Mtr arc.? Both, he should be covering centre-bounce, to inside H-Forward line, on each of our forays into F50. And we need diversity for our midfield rotations. We need more than 4 players in our team, who can be starting Mids. -
And that's why I brought him up. He can seriously play. IMO, needs a decent club environment (which we've developed), and get outa Home state.
-
I can see him a bit like a Bull, and like that he is sub 194 cms for CHF. as these days we need that position pushing hard thru the midfield, and doing most work between the arcs. Then head back forward as we transition the ball. His mongrel and power build means he can and would hit packs hard, in Mids, and up forward. In temperament I see him a bit like an Glenn Archer styled but bigger; not bad imv, playing a Key position battering ram. Even in defence, he'd be a handful to bring down with the ball.
-
He will, 'rj'. Once we get our proper contingent of speedy smalls into our forward half, The strait-lining at the ball of Big Tommy will spread-eagle the defenders (splitting the packs), and give us more players on their feet. speed kills.! and slowing down will hurt us. its the sudden Stop that destroys us.
-
Actually I think we need the Mk2 Ox right now, wise. To play the role earmarked for Jackson. I fear that Jackson might be too nice, alike White. Instead of that he man OX, who would run over the top of many defenders these days IF they got in his way. Imagine the Ox at full steam, with ball tucked under an arm, and a decent, "Don't-Argue".! And his pack marks. Actually, we need Ox at training Now, to help TMc. Ox, with his take-it-on attitude, would help 'our conservative self'.

The only ones who'd struggle would be those, who were free willed and undisciplined. With no defensive mindset. Those players would find it hard to sacrifice their creativity and explosiveness and fill space in a rolling mall and chase. And we have a couple of Mids with stars in their eyes, doing this as we speak.

Fogarty hasn't shown much this year . but I liked what I saw when he started out. Surprisingly in his 3rd season already. I think he's been drinking that bottled crows bathwater, since year 1. Hence he and they are struggling. I get the feeling IF... he could be got, he would be a valuable pickup. We don't have anyone up forward like him, with a low centre of gravity and he's powerful, plays small and can play brute strength football. A bigger version of Tracca. And probably a stronger mark. With the crows seemingly under the pump. Try while crows are knit picking.

That looks like its the 2020 Premiership Flag.

I would definitely have Darcy Fogarty. IMO he could make a modern CHF or crushing Mid.

Melbourne vs Essendon Postponed
MyFavouriteMartian replied to Deemented Are Go!'s topic in Melbourne Demons
I know sue, he didn't post the best way. But rather than inadvertently some misinformation got around peoples minds... I wanted to make it clear that those perspex shields are useless. They're only good to block a direct sneeze and larger droplets. And you cannot here the cashier speak 8/10 times. Proper double lined +, facemasks are the only worthwhile method to protect one and all, whilst we are out and about. -
Petracca, one-on-one with Danger, would be an interesting watch. And a real challenge for Tracca.
-
I think we are currently about a 6th to 10th team, atmo. But form isn't showing right now.

Hmmn, I just read he's 28. But then noticed the date of the post, was 2018. No no.

Melbourne vs Essendon Postponed

HaHaHa. -
relevant, You fool. rubbish. My post is/was about Melbourne boards from the mid 1960's, to 2013-ish. Nothing to do with our current AFL endorsed board.
-
I think the Suns job was a much better bet when Dewy went there, than our job back in 2014. Also I reckon Dewy has AFL backing.

it's not the best way to protect the staff nor the customer. Masks surpass those screens, by acuntry mile. -
I sense Dew didn't want the coaches-graveyard job, as his first go at it.
