  1. SWYL's right, For Our club, in Our current 'MfcSS' predicament. The club needs not a self perception of polite representation, to those who control our destiny. Or to others who have a crack at us. > this IMO is linked to our typical conservative playing attitudes. And easy going attitudes when getting beaten down in games. This club, after 50+ years of doldrums, needs fighting words from our leaders, to inspire more fight, more fire from all of us. To help to kill off that bloody 'MfcSS' syndrome. This polite tosh is a part of our problem. That's is why eddie and kennett and leaders from other clubs do speak louder publicly, to inspire all of that flock. It might not inspire Mcc folk, might make them sit awkwardly, but it will inspire those of us, who crave an aggressive Mfc. .
  2. Who was it that was saying back in February that AVB should be finished up because hes injured again.? I can't remember who they were now.
  3. A goal or 2, but most likely to bring the ball to ground for small contested ball winners. Not your jeffey type, but more like mKozzy, Bennell, Jones, Viney, Lockhart, Spargo, Bedford, Chandler...
  4. From the little I saw when searching for Weide, he was always circulating deep, whilst the ball was being delivered thru lowered eyes to players around the 40 to 50Mtr areas in front of goal. It almost appears like Weide was keeping the top defender away from where the ball was going.?
  5. maybe we are structuring this way, to suit our small forwards scoring. With sometimes only one tall forward, and TMc has built up massively, upper body, and is solid in upper legs. I think this is a current phase the AFL is going thru currently. And we recruited a really athletic mobile ruck, a running back, and small forwards last year. To back up this concept. As well as TMc's current size. Blame Richmond 2018
  6. If you would focus instead of allowing your emotions to lead you up the wrong pathway. You may have noticed the highlighted above. The comments posted are about our past 50 years of Mfc boards, 'OhUSA'.
  7. Oh, for simpler times Red. The early 60's would do me nicely.
  8. Agh, this is so frustrating without the real thing.
  9. No wonder he's carrying Corona, he's a Fly by Night Vampire.
  10. if we have to play the game later, before finals, it will hinder our ability to either make it, or possibly do well in finals.
  11. It's where the Board meets... that attracts mainly Business types like Bogong Moths. No aspersions on current board, as their time is young. We attract too many of the wrong type people sitting on our decision making processes. Because many just like the idea of having a purpose within the hallowed walls of the Mcg/Mcc. The wrong ingredient/desire to help this cub. We don't get enough footy smart people who control our destiny. And yes we do need good business types as directors, but they need to be there only for the club, and not to hobnob. All other clubs boards meet well away from the Mcg and most have prospered, or at least won a Flag; or have been competing in Finals Series strongly in past decades. We need to get our HQ and admins out & away from the Mcg. Let the club form its own identity away from the 'G', and it will grow. We are still the home team of the Mcg, but maybe not the foremost home team now, because of our failings from the top down. We cannot grow whilst still being tied by umbilical chords. Its like the parents are still dressing us, and making our decisions for us. InDEEPendence...!
  12. Put up the song being sung on youtube, It may go Viral.?
  13. Yes, but the point is Jimma took along time to be ready for AFL footy. Even needing to be sent to Prahran to grow and develop, before he could take the step.. and what a step he did take. We're talking development time frame, Re Weide.
  14. No, that's not what i'm saying, put Lever on the small. Let Smith play the taller role, of these two defenders.
  15. What a match, Hey? Harmes BOG.!
  16. tried to battle thru.? didn't workout for him?
  17. Yeah, so switch the two defenders.
  18. James Taylor a genius, probably. But, What IF we traded Pick 10 (2017) to another club for another mature player.? And pick 19 (2018) as well, to a different club for another mature player, Or other picks.? The problem I see, isn't Lever, or trading the picks away, but IS that we traded both the picks for the one player.. who had a history of ACL.
  19. Actually I think we need to draft a young Tall Defender to be a running CHB. A dasher in the old mold of Knights, or a Hardeman if you prefer. I think our key forwards are missing the physical support of the Ruckman pushing up and assisting from time to time. or assistance from one another. Too often out tall forwards have to do it all themselves against numerous players ganging up. Maybe this is why our key tall forwards are struggling.
  20. Well that won't hurt him (Wale-Buxton), playing seniors in Adelaide.
