  1. A fractured hand will be fine after the bye.
  2. I know it’s simplistic but why don’t they set markers at 25,35 and 45m then 3 cones at different angles at each distance. Then 3 on the run from each angle, one at each distance. No one leaves training till everyone has kicked at least 10 goals per round. This is the end of every training session. Film each player and then show them the vision. Teach, repetition, teach, repetition. We have to get better at this and practice is the only way.
  3. I think the argument can be had that loading through the Collingwood game would have been the smarter move. Win the Saints game, sacrifice the Pies match as it's a much harder one to win, take the bye and be cherry ripe post bye. The thing going against this scenario is we absolutely do not want to get smashed on any given KB. This is what I think is playing out and at the end of the day we were some straight kicks away from beating the Saints so it wasn't a terrible gamble. Now let's see how we go this week.
  4. That's good to know, I guess when we're losing it always feels like our suppoorters are outnumbered, on average what would you say the % of the support is for us?
  5. We didn't and that was evident in the first and last quarter, looked like we were running in the mud at times. Others have suggested loading which for mine is the most plausible theory although I don't think that excuses the first quarter. I guess there's an argument to say don't load and risk losing a winnable game but we've got a pretty tough stretch of games pretty much for the rest of the year so I guess we're sticking with our yearly training schedule. My main gripe was allowing them relatively easy transition goals, Butlers 3 from the goalsquare and not shifting Koz one out deep forward when it was clear he was being well beaten around the ball. These loses happen every year and they're damn frustrating. It's why our poor start was so damning. Let's hope Collingwood are in the middle of a loading phase and we can run over the top of them.
  6. ame one player the Hawks or Pies have drafted that have the talent of Windsor, Lindsay and Langford, you can't recruit top end mid 20'3 talent without giving up your high draft picks. We chose our path and so far I'm happy with that choice.
  7. All clubs do community work. We were flat and not switched on. It’s not Alice It’s us.
  8. His club has won one flag in its history, it’s as close to irrelevant as GC and GWS. On top of that his game plan is the worst in the comp, he’s won nothing and he’s got a dubious personal record. He talks a big game but barely delivers a weeks groceries. Ross Lyon can go [censored] himself.
  9. Ross Lyon can’t comment on serious footy clubs.
  10. I’d tag them both and pay some attention to Pendles and Sides. Close those 4 down and we’re a chance.
  11. The only thing I don’t like is it appears we struggle to garner much support from the crowd. Interstate sides travel way more than we do so I’m not sure it does any harm and the million dollars surely helps.
  12. I’ll stay positive until I deem it completely and utterly pointless.
  13. I agree but maybe without it we crash and burn later??
  14. I’m going to assume we loaded into last week and we’re setting ourselves for this week. Playing JVR will give us as much or more than AJ so that’s basically like for like. If Viney plays that’s an upgrade. Melksham is the concern. Hopefully nothing serious and just needs a jab before the game. I’m not sure who replaces him if he doesn’t get up. Do you bring TMac in and play him back and shift Turner forward. Whatever we do we have to do it well.
  15. Bagging a guy who’s played a handful of games and who could easily have kicked 3 goals yesterday seems a little odd. 2 weeks is about right. He’s shown more this year than Jefferson or JVR and that’s why he’s in the team. Is a long term prospect? Unlikely but he’s not our worst.
  16. Well if we win this week I’ll never think about the Saints game again.
  17. They looked off.
  18. The game plan works fine. Yesterday was one of those days. We allowed them easy transition goals, something we simply can’t to happen this week. Yesterday I would have put Koz one out in the square, Windhager wasn’t just blanketing him he was racking up possessions that were hurting us. Wanganeen Milera needed a hard tag and we needed to kick 5 more goals. We were actually close to winning despite playing poorly. It’s compounded by our poor start and the tough draw over the next few weeks. Next week is all about bringing the heat. Oliver to Pendles, Sparrow to JDaicos and perhaps Viney to NDaicos??? Someone also has to make Sidebottom accountable. It’s going to be a stressful watch.
  19. I don’t think using yesterday as a guide to judging us is useful. Yes it paints part of the picture but we were off. On top of that Lyon outcoached Goodwin in that his tactics worked. That doesn’t always happen. We defended transition very poorly which for me was the most disappointing aspect of the game. Nothing cost us more than this. I found Butler’s cheap goals incredibly infuriating. Windsor needs to be much better than that but he’s learning and that’s not a straight line. Now for Collingwood, it doesn’t matter how well we play if we don’t kick straight we’ll lose.
  20. The funny thing is we’re no more or less likely to beat Collingwood than we were last week. If we play our best we’re a chance, if we play like yesterday again we’ll get destroyed. Personally my confidence took a whack yesterday, It was a terrible performance. I’m really hoping we respond.
  21. Wow, these guys really do grasp at straws. Either watch him meet with Dee’s officials or let him visit his partner in peace
  22. He played a half at Casey and had 17 disposals. Hard to find form in a comp where our last 2 matches have been against suburban hacks. The VFL comp needs serious attention.
  23. I think we need to play the team that gives us the best chance of winning Out Laurie In Viney If AJ goes then JVR gets another shot If Viney doesn’t get up I’d play Culley over Laurie. Big body tell him to shut down Pendles
  24. Turner and McVee our best defenders. I want to see Adam’s get some games. In form you’d be playing TMac ahead of Lever and May atm but is that the best longer term idea? Let’s face it yesterday just sucked. I’m not sure anything we did would have won us that one. I hate those games.
