  1. We’re missing Pickett, McVee, Windsor, Spargo and Melksham so I’d actually say our depth is looking pretty good atm. Turner, Woewodin and Billing’s are all good enough to play AFL. You could also add Johnson to the list of missing as his game was AFL standard.
  2. Another easy thing to do would be to allow members to bring a friend for free to low drawing games. If the club could get the MCC on board with this it would surely influence numbers. As an MCC/MFC member I only ever sit in the MCC stand. If I could bring a friend for free 2-3 times a year it’s a great way to introduce new people to the joy, pain, heartbreak and happiness that being a Demon involves.
  3. Did you listen to what he said?
  4. I reckon Petty is the perfect swingman. Strong contested grab, usually a good kick for goal and is still young.
  5. I’m talking about the North team in its entirety. If our mids can get on top and move the ball with some pace it’ll make our forwards day a lot easier.
  6. That’s the big one for all teams not just us. Imagine taking Cripps out of the Blues line up.
  7. I was definitely worried about his competitive instincts but his first game was a positive on that front. He needs to keep playing and building belief. It’s going to be interesting watching him this week against lesser opposition. If he can clunk a few marks and kick 2-3 goals it’ll do his confidence the world of good. We just need to get on top through the middle as that’s where North can potentially challenge us. Big week for the leaders.
  8. Adding Pickett, McVee and Windsor will make a huge difference to our running and skills. A lot to like about us this year, I’m excited

I really really really want to beat both these teams
  10. His skills around the ground are fine but when the heat is really on I don’t think he can go with it. As always I’m just an observer and would love to be proved wrong.
  11. He’s a very very good reader of the play and a fantastic kick. He plays if fit enough.
  12. He’s the very definition of vanilla, both in skills and personality
  13. Need him against GC
  14. Spargo and Turner are good ins. Windsor’s foot is a concern. You’d think it’d be ok by now
  15. most likely 50 - 50
  16. I didn’t see those instances. I did see a guy continually get to the spot and not manage to mark in amongst a pack. I thought his competitive stuff was really good for a first gamer
  17. Another problem is parents who allow their kids to support other sides. I’ve no idea how this ever happens. My kids were never given a choice, they didn’t have a choice, there was no choice, choice wasn’t a word used at the time, as far as they were concerned choice was between lemon chicken and sweet and sour pork. Their Aunt tried to nab them and she wasn’t invited over again. Only when indoctrination was complete were other teams discussed. As far as my kids knew there was only one team. My 3 serious partners all became Demons, my current partner’s son barracked for Collingwood. I told him either barrack for Melbourne or never come to the footy with me. He too is now a Demon. Doesn’t matter how you do it but it must be done. Harden them in the fires of barracking for a small club with a superiority complex. Then take them forth to the G and yell till their ears hurt and their soul rejoices.
  18. The footage shows the missed Petracca handball to Bowey…Arrgh
  19. Idea 1: Rather than stacking the change rooms with family and friends the club should send every young member a one use access pass to the match day change rooms. (Clearly booking ahead would be needed) Get them in, give them a guernsey, a signed footy and a couple of photos with their favourite players. Idea 2: Make under 10 memberships free or virtually free with every adult membership sold. Then invite the kids to training where they actually get a run around with a player/s. Like a Melbourne Auskick session. Choco and the rehab players could do it and the likes of Trac and co can join in briefly. Give the kids signed photos. Idea 3: Every adult member who brings an under 10 to the footy gets a scarf for that kid. You have to engage the kids every year during their early years. There’s hundreds of things the club can do. I guarantee there’s a few crew on the payroll who’d love to get this stuff happening
  20. Let’s build it at Caulfield 🤔
  21. Personally I think the MCG generates enough atmosphere for crowds 20-30K. I thought Sundays game was an excellent watch at the game. However I’m not mad on massive crowds so love the G with 30-50K.

I trust you’re not offering the kind of money the Saints are?
  23. We have enough good kicks in the team to up the transition game. Defensively we looked really good against GWS most of the day! It’s a work in progress and transition against the best teams is never as easy. The thing is there’s now 12-14 teams who are in the race. The wins will come from being that bit cleaner than the opposition. Our starting midfield is as strong as anyone’s and if we can get it out to the likes of Lindsay, Windsor, Langdon, Bowey, Spargo, Melksham and even Fritsch the delivery inside 50 should improve. It’s going to be a hell of a season if our best 15 can stay fit.
  24. Past players are irrelevant to this argument. He’s a very very good forward at his best and dare I say it, a liability at his worst. He’s a few more poor games from a game at Casey I’d say.
