The Next CEO

The Next CEO
Neither get direct sun and both are covered with light trolleys most of the week. Our ovals will have no grandstands blocking sunlight. I appreciate what you’re saying but I disagree.
-
The Next CEO
The plan clearly states the oval can be used by the community when we’re not using it. Surely in this day and age that makes sense. Why have 2 ovals sitting empty, being mowed, fertilised and then just sit there bar the 10 or so hours a week we would use it? Absolutely ridiculous waste of resources. We should be encouraging the community to use them and I’m sure that will be the case.

I think we’re reaching to make this assumption.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
I think Oliver is replaceable but prefer him playing. I wonder if Culley is seen as a possible replacement?

TRAINING: Thursday 1st May 2025
Before 4 is preferred. Kev will need a suitable reason for posting the report late as per Report Standards section 7: timing and deadlines, subsection 3A, page 37, paragraph 4, line 21, “any reports posted later than the 4pm deadline will need to be prefaced with the reasoning behind said reports late posting”

Training Ground?
Caulfield will be an awesome spot to get. If it falls through it’ll be a huge loss for the club. I imagine there’s plenty going on behind the scenes. I believe there’s an announcement in June/July as per initial report.

Training Ground?
And playing for Sandringham will make them better players?
-
Training Ground?
No I told him
-
The Next CEO
He’s still involved in securing Caulfield.

The Next CEO
Looks like we’re going to disagree again, and to think I tend to always agree regarding your football knowledge. Anyway, he’s run several businesses as big or bigger than Melbourne including one that was part of a worldwide organisation. Business is business, there’s commonalities between all of them from a CEO standpoint. He’ll no doubt be given a brief. Let’s face it his most important job is securing Caulfield. If he pulls that off he’ll achieve, along with those who began the push, what no other club official has managed in over 50 years. Give him his chance.

The Next CEO
So is the club expected to go for a lesser candidate who can start today? I’m really not sure what the concerns are.

Training Ground?
Any major club decisions will include him. How long do you think it takes to discuss important matters? Even if we were to sack Goodwin, which if done this year would financially would be a terrible decision, do you seriously think he wouldn’t be involved? Do you think he can’t meet stakeholders before his official start date?
-
The Next CEO
I’d be very surprised if he isn’t spending time each week working with the club and its stakeholders. I’m guessing he’ll be at our matches pretty regularly.

2025 MRO & Tribunal
Slightly different as Chandler takes him part side on and slams him into the turf. Curtis is completely from behind. Very hard for Curtis to change anything when the player immediately falls to his knees propelling them both forward.

The Quarters Ladder
Time to start moving up that ladder

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
He'll need another preseason working his backside off to get back in his best shape. I presume to club know this. If he can't do this we should trade him.
-
The Next CEO
Well at least he talks like he knows what he's talking about. Question: Is Pert still working on Caulfield and if not does anybody know who's handling it at club level until September?
-
PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
I'm not a betting man but I'll take some of what you're laying down.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Are you saying he's misbehaving off field?

Time to go Goody?
I think Goodwin has been unfairly tarnished by his straight sets 22 and 23 finals. I think you can criticise the entire team for their loss to carlton in 23 as that remains one of the most ill disciplined games I've seen from this group but injuries cooked us in both those years yet we finished top 4, a fair effort. Clearly some ego's ran out of control last year but we might just be watching him turn a contest and defence team into a pretty decent transition team. Disappointed we lost to GWS and North but if we can remain largely injury free we just might get on a roll. We'll have to wait and see but Goodwin just may make his mark this year and next. I'll also say that I've had my doubts over the journey and still do.
-
The Next CEO
His number one priority is Caulfield, plain and simple. As far as I'm concerned if he gets that over the line he's done his job. Fail to do that and we'll be ridiculed for the appointment whether it's his fault or not.

Xavier Lindsay- Round 7 Rising Star
Out of interest what are your doubts on Langford. I think he looks a rippa, every bit as good as Lindsay.
