  1. Feels like Buckley is our man. He better be committed over a decent time period as I don’t want some short term top up to try and pinch the missing piece on his CV. He appears an astute observer, well respected, has a pretty decent coaching record and besides being a Collingwood legend just might be strong enough to shake this club to its senses. I trust he’ll be reaching out to assistant’s to bring with him. Still feels a little dirty to me but I’ll back him in if he gets the nod.
  2. I reckon we've just got to hang tight a few more weeks/months and we'll get a clearer explanation of how it works. Herald Sun articles need to be taken as little more than gossip.
  3. There’s a tunnel off the roundabout on Kambrook Rd. Can someone put the article up?
  4. I grew up on Robbie Flower and I just can’t go past him as the greatest MFC player I’ve seen. However for the ability to grind it out year after year Max has few peers, 8 AA’s, Captain of a Premiership side and those continual marks down the line make him likely to become recognised as our greatest ever.
  5. I thought it was said that Daly would take over at Brisbane. Either way I’d have Daly at the front of our queue…..Have I said that before??
  6. Judd is a really good player and I’d be disappointed if he left, as for mine we need more of his type not less. I get your point that players come and go so whatever but for mine he’s not a signature to be blasé about. Important piece of the puzzle. Get it done.
  7. Richardson as an assistant coach? I can see why that's a better fit but it's a demotion?? Whilst I really like what Phil Davis has to say about the game and guys like Sloane and Bartel have their views do they have the runs on the board for what is essentially a job that involves overseeing an entire FD. It's a big gig and for mine needs an experienced operator. Hinkley would be a get for such a role.
  8. Pretty confident the FD can come up with a late second early third round pick if they need to, probably more than one with what we have to trade/offload. You don't get to move up in a draft as strong as last years without paying overs and Lindsay will likely be worth every cent.
  9. Where does that leave Richardson? Is this a quiet backhander to a guy who's contract we don't want to pay out but ideally we want gone? I'm really not sure Bartel has the runs on the board to take over what is effectively the running of our entire FD.
  10. I won't surprise me if Melksham plays a few more.
  11. The AFL is miles behind on this issue. The very fact no AFL player has turned up with his boyfriend to an event shows how ingrained homophobia is within the industry. There’s many reasons for this and I won’t bore you with my take. The biggest mistake after Rankine’s was how the AFL dealt with the issue. Once again they dropped the ball. It was a 4-5 week penalty on precedent alone. This is not on the Collingwood players who called it out although we can certainly discuss their motives. Our society has many issues and one of the worst is for people to keep defending the use of these words whilst our young kids look on and gay and transgender kids commit suicide at multiples over the average. It doesn’t matter if you’re 70 or 20, compassion, empathy and understanding only make us better.
  12. It ended up a Daicos free after Ed grabbed his leg. The umpiring was atrocious but that's not new. I thought we got a few gifts as well.
  13. That's long been the word on Daly. Apparently he turned down both MaCrae and Hardwick for fairly recent assistant roles. He'd be a huge get for us imo.
  14. I think you can let that go now. I was doubtful of his appointment however now he’s started let’s give him and Smith some time, they deserve at least that.
  15. Your man May is a deadset liability. He’s not streets ahead of anyone on an AFL list
  16. The way May moves, the quicker transition, his attitude at times…..if it’s not the end he’s going to need one hell of a preseason.
  17. He may get a game in front of May but it’s still a no
  18. I’m predicting we’ll fold like a cheap suit but it’ll make my season if we knock them out of the finals which is what we have the opportunity to do.
  19. They can’t sack Richo now anyway. He’s contracted till 26 I believe and surely we can’t afford 2 unfilled salaries in the soft cap next season
  20. I opted out of the frenzy and become a watcher and reader for awhile. Your enthusiasm needs to be commended and the report writers have been awesome.
  21. Righto, are we all going to gush or get a serious report done. You know who you are, you’ve got till 4 and make em comprehensive! Something about playing Collingwood that gets me back in the zone. 😎
  22. Sheesh people look good in Demon wear.
