  1. Pick 9 this year and two future first?! Assume it’s if they pivot from Merret.
  2. It certainly crossed my mind when I heard Morris introduce him. I guess we will never know. Hopefully we run a tighter ship from now on.
  3. It’s actually a good listen. Maybe somebody can put up a link to it when it’s over
  4. Jack Billing’s on trade radio now. interestingly he and Tom Morris seem to be good mates from when Jack was drafted to Saints as Tom worked there then. Couple of criticisms about his time at Melbourne. Probably deservingly so. One was development of young talent and the other that he got little or no feedback about what he was doing wrong or needed to do to get back in team or in his exit meeting.
  5. Let’s not forget that the pick we gave for Nibbler was the same pick we gave Adelaide for McAdam the year before. Pick 23 is a good outcome here, I think this year more than ever we need to look at the overall outcome of the trade period rather than individual trades as we will win on some and lose on others. The fact that we got this trade done so early has me thinking this pick will be part of a larger deal.
  6. Might be a bit late to state our negotiating position but I think it should be that he’s free to a good home provided they pay his full salary or very close to it. How much we pay is then decided by the quality of the pick we get. I
  7. They are going to need a bucket load of points for their academy players. May not get it done without one of their two top picks. Also I think it would be smarter for us to have a real crack at next years draft if we can’t get players as part of the deal.
  8. I like everybody else would love BH to come in the Trac deal but really can’t see it happening. My guess is it will be 6 or 7 this year plus their 2026 first and a fringe player for Trac. We could add other elements to it such as throwing some second rounders in for one of their later first round picks or swap our 2027 2nd for their first.
  9. This is what I would like to see us doing, however… This is what I think will happen.
  10. If we do a deal for picks I’d like to see us swap our 2027 first rounder for their 2026 first as part of the deal. Load up before Tassie comes in.
  11. Not sure we want the Hawks coming hard for him. Once he nominates a club it’s down to a one horse race so it would be better for us if that horse is the Suns. I wonder should we set the price for him before he nominates a club. Say we want a top 5 pick and a player no matter where he decides to go.
  12. It’s the dream scenario for Trac to want to go to the Suns and Flanders the other way. Should we be able to get enough points value in what we receive for McVee and spargo we might be able to snare one of their later first round picks too.
  13. I think if things were flipped around and we were able to get McVee in a trade( in a world where he’s never been our player) what would people be willing to pay? I think pick 23 and a swapping of future 3rd & 4th picks with us governing the 3rd would be a fair deal. Sooooo we need a bit more than 29
  14. In the days following that queens birthday game( I think Lizzy was still around) I never had more respect for Trac and for the first time saw him as the natural leader to replace Max. A man that would lead by example, and literal put his body on the line for the club. At that point he was probably only second to Max in terms of how much respect I had for him, now I have none. It’s not that he’s leaving as I still have respect for Nibbler and JJ amongst others it’s the way he’s went about it mainly last year and clearly he never wanted to be here all season. I do believe it’s best he goes from the clubs point of view. We need to continued our rebuild as fast as possible and we don’t have first rounder this year so we need to trade out at least one player with high value.
  15. Or just stick to the cooking. Point is that he is still a Melbourne player and if a suitable deal can’t be agreed there’s a chance( all be it a small one now) that he could be back playing for us next year. Publicly courting another team is disrespectful in my opinion. One only has to look through this thread to see that there’s plenty of fans who would have said he never wanted to leave if he didn’t make it public.
  16. First time I’ve ever been accused of over thinking anything🤣. Is his partner his social media manager. Surely between the 3 of them they would have considered the optics of this rather than driving, having a zoom meeting or have Adelaide’s list manager fly into Melbourne or any other way to keep it out of the media. Also I assume although he’s no longer with Connor sports he’s is probably still getting advise from his brother who still works for them.
  17. I mean he had options to meet with other clubs and keep it out of the public eye. Flying into Adelaide was always going to get picked up by the media and by doing so he’s made it more difficult for him to be in the red and blue next year. Calculated move by brand Petracca and his team.
  18. Unlike last year I’m neither angry or disappointed. I’ve already spent those coupons and I think him moving on is probably best for the club long term provided we can get a proper deal done. The fact that he’s clearly the one trying to drive this through and his willingness to go to a number of clubs puts the club in a strong position to negotiate from.
  19. Hope so, the Suns are still going to be best outcome pick and hopefully player wise for us.
  20. It’s a fair point- I just had a look at the 2022 draft. It was a good draft with Cadman going at 1 with Will Ashcroft and Harry Sheezel behind him. I’d still say Judd gets into top 10( just) in a strong draft. The fact that Saints are willing to part with pick 7 for Flanders also sets the bar high for this trade window.
  21. Pick 29 is probably what we end up with I’d say. I would be hoping for a bit more but it rarely plays out that way( unless your dealing with the Suns) Very unlikely we would be able to pick up a player of Judds quality with that pick. Which goes to show the value of being able to attract quality players from other teams. We are currently not an attractive option for players so have to top up high end talent via the drafts and hope King and the list management team can make us a more attractive option both in terms of brand of footy and $$$$. Even if we nail our picks in the next 2 drafts we will be competing with Tassie for mature players after that and won’t be able to offer anywhere near the same money.
  22. Spewing with his decision. He’s the right age bracket and skill set of players we need more of so losing him hurts us. No chance we get pick 13 but hoping we get more than just pick 29. We will have a decent hand of second round picks and might be able to get GC to part with pick 6.
  23. There was enough interest last year for a meeting with the cats and there was heaps of speculation around him last year. This year he put that to bed by coming out with a statement early. Contrast that to what’s happening with Trac and the silence from both him and the club is fuelling all this speculation.
  24. Yeah I meant if he were to go to the likes of Hawks, GC or Adelaide then we say we need pick 4 for on Richmond to make it happen.
  25. Cal said that Richmond is open to trading out one of its top 2 picks which will be 3&4. Said they are will to trade back or into next year to spread their picks We could set that as the price for Trac. Would people see Trac and 23 or Trac and pick we get for Spargo as a fair deal?
