POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Geelong
With hindsight dropping Tommo for Petty didn’t have the impact Goody must have thought it would have. But Pettys role would have changed as soon as Cameron went off. Goody clearly thought he was better suited to run with Cameron than Tommo. Whether that due to being more agile in the wet conditions or what I don’t know. Petty didn’t have a great game but he wasn’t doing the role he was selected for.

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Geelong
We just had no legs in the last quarter. We were the better team before then by a fair way but didn’t put it on the score board. Our goal kicking is a massive problem at the minute there’s no doubt about that. We really need to get back to our early season kicking form to have a right crack at the flag.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
It’s certainly going to be a very interesting draft. Gold Coast will almost certainly trade out their first pick(currently pick 8) and I agree that West coast will look at splitting pick one. Given there seems to be a lot of talent in the first round I wouldn’t be surprised if both North and Hawks would be open to splitting theirs. I’d love to see us trading our own first and Freo’s second round for the Suns first pick and have two top 10 picks this year. Although it may pay for us to split Freo’s second pick before we deal with Suns.

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
By drafting Tasmanian talent in this draft? Meets our needs and if they jump to the Tassie team when it sets up then we should be very well compensated with draft picks in a draft where good picks are hard to come by.

PREGAME: Rd 15 vs Geelong
Oliver has to come straight back in and I think Bowey also comes straight back in. Not just because he was in season best form last week but also because how important Salems role was this week, I wouldn’t be surprised if Geelong put some time into Salem when we play them. Bowey is probably the next best kick coming out of defence and maybe needed to take on some of the quarterback duties. Haven’t put any thought into who may be dropped yet.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Having Kosi at 171cm and Spargo at 173cm, Chin at 174cm might prove that smaller players can make it. But I think it shows we are already well stocked for small forwards. Think we need to use our top pick in another position.

JvR Free!!!
Haven’t been posting on this one as I’m trying my best not to get to sucked in to [censored] poor decisions by AFL. Came to the conclusion a little while ago that the AFL is more than happy with the extra attention that a controversial decision like this brings. Who needs Thursday night footy when you can have everybody talking about the footy by making poor decisions. Can’t tell me with the amount of money at the AFLs disposal that they couldn’t make the game easier to umpire and also improve the standard of umpires

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
I’m back on the death riding train this week. Confident swans can crush any confidence they got from the hawks game. Hickey back will help them as will the fact it’s in Sydney. Swans need to win to have any chance of making finals so will be well up for it. After the Swans. Freo play the Cats in Perth and then us at the MCG. I expect them to lose all three. They have the bye before two massive games for us death riders. Richmond and then GWS. Hopefully Richmond have a few plays back from injury by then.

Tasmanian AFL Team
I think the ferry comment might be if they stayed at Blundstone Luci. Big part of the reasoning for the new stadium is that it will be in a better more central location. As it’s on the river there could be ferry access but it’s very central and could be walked to from city centre.

Players Coming Out of Contract When Tassie Enters
I think people here might be looking at at the effect the Tassie team might have on the talent pool and our list are looking at it wrong. With JT and Lamb heading our recruitment we should be looking at how we can use this to our advantage. The new club will have a bounty of picks they are will to part with. Over the past lot of years our recruitment team has come out in top of a vast majority of trades we have been involved with. On top of that we enter the this years draft with the strongest hand we have had in years. Yes it will be a tricky time to manage our list going forward but with JT and Lamb making the calls I think we are better placed than anybody else to manage it very well.

Tasmanian AFL Team
Hi Jaded, I’m Irish, lived in Melbourne for 10 years and have lived south of Hobart. so not Tasmanian at all 😂. Melbourne will remain my number one team I pretty sure but I will also go to the new teams games and hope they are a great success. I do feel that the majority of people here that support a team on the mainland will have no problem just following the new Tassie team. By and large I don’t feel most people here are die hard fans of their chosen AFL team and will be keen to get behind a new completely Tassie team.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
After really wanting us to pick Hayden Young in 19 draft I have tried not to get too keen on a player before the draft. After all JT knows 1000 times more than I could ever hope to so I’m happy with whoever he picks. Having said that I’m throwing it out the window this year and jumping on the Duursma train real early. Thought he had an almost game the other day but looks very silky, moves well, good size already, athletic, looks like he likes a tackle. Plays the outside role that we don’t really have at the club. Only 17 so heaps of upside. Looks like he is going to be the player I thought Cerra was going to be at Carlton. He’s already been training with the club and now getting a run at Casey.
