  1. Yeah I said this exact thing to my partner while Cameron was getting treated on the pitch.
  2. Spargo didn’t do great as the sub either but I was honestly happy to see him coming on. Normally uses the footy well and is clean even in wet conditions. Not traits that you would associate with Harmes who others feel should have been the sub.
  3. With hindsight dropping Tommo for Petty didn’t have the impact Goody must have thought it would have. But Pettys role would have changed as soon as Cameron went off. Goody clearly thought he was better suited to run with Cameron than Tommo. Whether that due to being more agile in the wet conditions or what I don’t know. Petty didn’t have a great game but he wasn’t doing the role he was selected for.
  4. We just had no legs in the last quarter. We were the better team before then by a fair way but didn’t put it on the score board. Our goal kicking is a massive problem at the minute there’s no doubt about that. We really need to get back to our early season kicking form to have a right crack at the flag.
  5. JJ didn’t do his cause any favours last night. Not the final nail in his coffin but I can’t see him being with us next year now.
  6. Oliver out for another week gives Trac a great chance to pick up 3 more Brownlow votes. He has been in beast mode of late.
  7. Tommo out is a surprise but I’ve got a feeling that by the time the final siren goes tmw night it will make a lot more sense to us all. Very unlike us to drop somebody who’s playing well so can’t see us doing it without good reason.
  8. It’s certainly going to be a very interesting draft. Gold Coast will almost certainly trade out their first pick(currently pick 8) and I agree that West coast will look at splitting pick one. Given there seems to be a lot of talent in the first round I wouldn’t be surprised if both North and Hawks would be open to splitting theirs. I’d love to see us trading our own first and Freo’s second round for the Suns first pick and have two top 10 picks this year. Although it may pay for us to split Freo’s second pick before we deal with Suns.
  9. Oh this is beautiful. Cmon Giant foot to the throat
  10. GWS are favs on the betting for todays game. $1.68 and shortening. Wonder if Freo have some late outs?!
  11. By drafting Tasmanian talent in this draft? Meets our needs and if they jump to the Tassie team when it sets up then we should be very well compensated with draft picks in a draft where good picks are hard to come by.
  12. I agree. We don’t need to rush him back. He was playing well in the game he was injured in but his form leading up to that wasn’t great. Let him get fitness and form for a week or two at Casey. Smith has to get another game after his performance.
  13. Oliver has to come straight back in and I think Bowey also comes straight back in. Not just because he was in season best form last week but also because how important Salems role was this week, I wouldn’t be surprised if Geelong put some time into Salem when we play them. Bowey is probably the next best kick coming out of defence and maybe needed to take on some of the quarterback duties. Haven’t put any thought into who may be dropped yet.
  14. Anybody know where I can watch Goodys post game presser?
  15. Few things- one did anybody else spot the cheeky smirk from JVR before his set shot. After a heap of set shot misses I knew he wasn’t going to miss when I saw that. Also how sickening was BT,s barracking for the filth
  16. Salem borderline elite, Bowey and McVee aren’t elite. You’re having a laugh surely? Come on now
  17. Been Bush for a few days. Seems I’ve missed a lot. Clarry is definitely out? some Pies may be out with illness?! Has that been confirmed?
  18. I wonder what we are doing training/ loading wise leading up to this game given we don’t really have a bye but one game sandwiched by two ten day breaks. Would love us to be cherry ripe for the Pies game but we may be looking at priming ourselves for run home and finals.
  19. I’m really hoping we can win the next quarter and then have the game won heading into the last where we can hopefully play a few players into form.
  20. Having Kosi at 171cm and Spargo at 173cm, Chin at 174cm might prove that smaller players can make it. But I think it shows we are already well stocked for small forwards. Think we need to use our top pick in another position.
  21. I’m on ferry and will soon be out of signal. Any chance of a decision soon???
  22. Haven’t been posting on this one as I’m trying my best not to get to sucked in to [censored] poor decisions by AFL. Came to the conclusion a little while ago that the AFL is more than happy with the extra attention that a controversial decision like this brings. Who needs Thursday night footy when you can have everybody talking about the footy by making poor decisions. Can’t tell me with the amount of money at the AFLs disposal that they couldn’t make the game easier to umpire and also improve the standard of umpires
  23. I’m back on the death riding train this week. Confident swans can crush any confidence they got from the hawks game. Hickey back will help them as will the fact it’s in Sydney. Swans need to win to have any chance of making finals so will be well up for it. After the Swans. Freo play the Cats in Perth and then us at the MCG. I expect them to lose all three. They have the bye before two massive games for us death riders. Richmond and then GWS. Hopefully Richmond have a few plays back from injury by then.
  24. I think the ferry comment might be if they stayed at Blundstone Luci. Big part of the reasoning for the new stadium is that it will be in a better more central location. As it’s on the river there could be ferry access but it’s very central and could be walked to from city centre.
  25. I think people here might be looking at at the effect the Tassie team might have on the talent pool and our list are looking at it wrong. With JT and Lamb heading our recruitment we should be looking at how we can use this to our advantage. The new club will have a bounty of picks they are will to part with. Over the past lot of years our recruitment team has come out in top of a vast majority of trades we have been involved with. On top of that we enter the this years draft with the strongest hand we have had in years. Yes it will be a tricky time to manage our list going forward but with JT and Lamb making the calls I think we are better placed than anybody else to manage it very well.
