  1. Some talk going around he has signed. Potentially a long contract too, but not totally sure.
  2. "Quietly put into place before the COVID-19 outbreak, towards the end of last season, it has directly affected the new deal struck between the Giants and Leon Cameron despite significant opposition from Cameron's manager Craig Kelly." "St Kilda's Brett Ratten, Carlton's David Teague and Gold Coast's Stuart Dew all have six-month payout clauses or less in their new coaching deals. Their deals were struck over the past 12 months and had to be approved by AFL executive Travis Auld."
  3. Pretty sure it's only for new contracts, not existing ones.
  4. From what I heard, his hammy was right this week, he was told early in the week by Goodwin that he hadn't earned his spot back.
  5. Don't know exactly tbh, but a mate who is friends with a former North assistant coach said that's what's coming from the club.
  6. His body is in a bad place. Not worth the gamble for us, we're already trying to deal with an out of form, injured and over priced key forward. I doubt we'll replace him with another one.
  7. Sure, just find it interesting given the chatter about them both recently.
  8. Harmes and TMac not even emergencies... ?
  9. I believe from a few years ago; most (if not all) AFL clubs made it that you have to opt-out of auto renewal rather than opt-in.
  10. They're fairly even, but Saad edges Salem for contested one on ones, spoils, pressure acts, score involvements and score launches. In the AFL player ratings Saad is 74 and Salem is 189.
  11. You're confused with things that are statistical ratings and things that are predictions. Continue with your potshots if you wish. I'll just chat footy with the grown ups.
  12. Apparently his management have been meeting with a few teams, so interesting coincidence he's started to find form.
  13. Both average 18 disposals a game this year. Disposal efficiency: Salem 71%, Saad 80% Metres gained: Salem 303, Saad 393 I love Salem, but Saad is a better user and IMO has him covered as a player, albeit maybe not by a massive margin.
  14. It's a rating not a prediction of the future. Shouldn't be so hard to understand really.
  15. Fair enough mate. We might not agree on it all but appreciate your well reasoned response. Personally I think Mahoney and Goodwin are a bit TOO joined at the moment and could be part of the reason Mahoney is not with us next year should that eventuate. (Also, just didn't want to take up the whole page with quoting your full post) Cheers!
  16. They release the list assessment before each season. 2020 list ratings
  17. Similar here. Email yesterday with my name on it but was for my daughter's membership, then 2 emails today for my membership. Bit of a mess, but to be fair to the club; they'd be operating on minimal staff on minimal hours at the moment. It also could be the fault of ticketmaster who send out the club EDMs and not the fault of the club itself. In saying all that, it's a pretty important year to really get the memberships right.
  18. Found it... What a disaster of a trip the Melbourne Demons had to FNQ. They received two losses against teams lower than them on the ladder that seriously hurt their finals hopes across just five days. They bounced back well on Saturday night against GWS, but they certainly shot themselves in the foot while in Cairns. The Demons were quick to winge about conditions and facilities, as well. “We would’ve loved to have been up here before the day of the game to get a feel for the conditions,” Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin said. “It is different. It’s windy every day – so we need to plan for that and be ready for that.” Isn’t that the way the AFL has worked much of this season, away teams travelling the day of the game? Just a little bit precious from the Demons. They have former players and staff of their club living and working in Cairns, surely they could have made a few phone calls in the days leading in to ask about what conditions they are about to face? They also had issues with training at Watsons Oval instead of Cazalys. In contrast, local officials cannot speak more highly of their interactions with Sydney and Fremantle during their FNQ hub.
  19. Haha sounds like some good QLD journalism! I swear there was something in it about officials comparing us to other clubs tho?
  20. Based on the player ratings of the previous season. We didn't have the same players. Previous two seasons, Bulldgogs finished 13th and then 7th. This year they had the 2nd ranked list. Yes, I think our improvement this year has come from less injury for the main part. Would Goodwin's job be in danger if he was the sole reason for our improvement this year? Did we seek out Richardson because Goodwin was doing such a great job? And by your own reasoning then, the results in 2019 were Goodwin's fault and injury had no impact. I never said the drop down was due to our list not improving. I merely pointed to an independent assessment that said our list hadn't improved.
  21. Can't remember exactly which paper, potentially Cairns Post? But there was a 'Boundary Rider' article talking about how the Dees were being a bit precious and how the officials up there talked about how other teams didn't give them any problems.
  22. Yep, agree mate. Value would not be high at all, his contract would also have an impact and then there's the case of him passing a medical.
  23. Been widely panned this year, not totally sure I agree with this mate. How much more pressure do you think can possibly come onto a coach? Reckon game plan is a fair part of that. Rated no 1 in 2019 (Champion Data) Rated no 9 in 2020 Don't remember Pickett and Spargo? Or Fritsch being "late to training"? Also, apparently the officials in Cairns had a bit to say about how much the Dees sooked while up there. Do you legitimately believe that's due solely to the performance of Goodwin and Mahoney? Injuries weren't a factor? Why not? Assistant coaches at other clubs would have looked on in horror at Mahoney's review and changes mid-season. If he's gone and we get a highly rated quality person in of course that impacts the situation positively. There's always next year hey.... The eternal cry of us long suffering Dees supporters.
  24. Not all 28, but how about when we brought in Kade Kolodjashnij (25) and Harley Bennell (27), or when we re-signed vandenBerg (28) despite injury, Lewis was 30 when we traded him in (no big injury problems, but obviously not best 22 anymore given the trade value), and none of them are key position players; for which there's always greater interest. It's a very black and white view you take seemingly. Not every trade is a blockbuster where a team trades out a top 10 pick for a 'best 22' player. Jenkins was no longer in the Crows best 22, yet he found a new home via trade.
