  1. Similar here. Email yesterday with my name on it but was for my daughter's membership, then 2 emails today for my membership. Bit of a mess, but to be fair to the club; they'd be operating on minimal staff on minimal hours at the moment. It also could be the fault of ticketmaster who send out the club EDMs and not the fault of the club itself. In saying all that, it's a pretty important year to really get the memberships right.
  2. Found it... What a disaster of a trip the Melbourne Demons had to FNQ. They received two losses against teams lower than them on the ladder that seriously hurt their finals hopes across just five days. They bounced back well on Saturday night against GWS, but they certainly shot themselves in the foot while in Cairns. The Demons were quick to winge about conditions and facilities, as well. “We would’ve loved to have been up here before the day of the game to get a feel for the conditions,” Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin said. “It is different. It’s windy every day – so we need to plan for that and be ready for that.” Isn’t that the way the AFL has worked much of this season, away teams travelling the day of the game? Just a little bit precious from the Demons. They have former players and staff of their club living and working in Cairns, surely they could have made a few phone calls in the days leading in to ask about what conditions they are about to face? They also had issues with training at Watsons Oval instead of Cazalys. In contrast, local officials cannot speak more highly of their interactions with Sydney and Fremantle during their FNQ hub.
  3. Haha sounds like some good QLD journalism! I swear there was something in it about officials comparing us to other clubs tho?
  4. Based on the player ratings of the previous season. We didn't have the same players. Previous two seasons, Bulldgogs finished 13th and then 7th. This year they had the 2nd ranked list. Yes, I think our improvement this year has come from less injury for the main part. Would Goodwin's job be in danger if he was the sole reason for our improvement this year? Did we seek out Richardson because Goodwin was doing such a great job? And by your own reasoning then, the results in 2019 were Goodwin's fault and injury had no impact. I never said the drop down was due to our list not improving. I merely pointed to an independent assessment that said our list hadn't improved.
  5. Can't remember exactly which paper, potentially Cairns Post? But there was a 'Boundary Rider' article talking about how the Dees were being a bit precious and how the officials up there talked about how other teams didn't give them any problems.
  6. Yep, agree mate. Value would not be high at all, his contract would also have an impact and then there's the case of him passing a medical.
  7. Been widely panned this year, not totally sure I agree with this mate. How much more pressure do you think can possibly come onto a coach? Reckon game plan is a fair part of that. Rated no 1 in 2019 (Champion Data) Rated no 9 in 2020 Don't remember Pickett and Spargo? Or Fritsch being "late to training"? Also, apparently the officials in Cairns had a bit to say about how much the Dees sooked while up there. Do you legitimately believe that's due solely to the performance of Goodwin and Mahoney? Injuries weren't a factor? Why not? Assistant coaches at other clubs would have looked on in horror at Mahoney's review and changes mid-season. If he's gone and we get a highly rated quality person in of course that impacts the situation positively. There's always next year hey.... The eternal cry of us long suffering Dees supporters.
  8. Not all 28, but how about when we brought in Kade Kolodjashnij (25) and Harley Bennell (27), or when we re-signed vandenBerg (28) despite injury, Lewis was 30 when we traded him in (no big injury problems, but obviously not best 22 anymore given the trade value), and none of them are key position players; for which there's always greater interest. It's a very black and white view you take seemingly. Not every trade is a blockbuster where a team trades out a top 10 pick for a 'best 22' player. Jenkins was no longer in the Crows best 22, yet he found a new home via trade.
  9. Haven't seen anyone saying they have high trade value. Just like every recruit doesn't have to be a gun, or every re-signing is on big coin.
  10. What we get from them will likely be vastly different though.
  11. Ok, so going by 64%, which was our winning percentage in 2018, we would have to be 11-6 this year to equal that. So yeah, 2 more wins, but also 2 less losses, if you get what I'm saying? If this year was a normal amount of games our record would be 11.6-10.4... My brain is wrecked too now! Also, our percentage is telling: 2018 - 131.4 Currently - 106.2
  12. Not a maths expert by any stretch, but saying "we are two wins off" does not seem accurate. It's a 4 game turnaround, not 2. We'd need two more wins AND two less losses.
  13. We only have 1 second rounder don't we? (Courtesy of the Hawks) Freo have our 2nd rounder this year.
  14. A 26 year old possible All-Australian a direct swap for a struggling, injured and currently dropped soon to be 28 year old....? Don't think so mate.
  15. I'm sure the club won't have to think about it a long time, more talking to who is instigating the move.
  16. Yeah, would love Williams, haven't heard him linked to us yet though. Perhaps the financial requirements have put us out of the picture?
  17. So, is TMac and pick 22 (as it stands currently) a fair price for Saad?
  18. Heard similar-ish, hence the thread. Was told he has requested a trade. Didn't want to start a thread with that as there's a clique here that like to whinge when people post that kind of thing.
  19. Yep, trade value won't be high, but I think IF he goes it's because he wants to leave not because we want to ship him off.
  20. Or maybe Jack doesn't want to stay? It's possible it's not a contract decision and he just wants to change club. (Not saying that's the case, just saying there can be more to these things than the money/terms).
  21. We've probably done the form, physical limitations and injury discussions here a fair bit, but wonder if TMac will see the writing on the wall and look for more opportunity elsewhere? Signed until the end of 2022; but hard to know the remuneration situation given he re-signed only 6 games into his stellar 2018 season. Turns 28 soon so might not want to be having to compete with young players for a spot, and plenty of teams would be willing to take a punt on him IMO. Main obstacle could be him passing a physical pending how serious a toll his injuries have taken. Reckon it's a bit of a 'watch this space' with TMac.
  22. Funnily enough, he didn't mention Smith or Wingard when he brought up names. “If you’re talking about those sort of guys Breust, Gunston, Liam Shiels who have been outstanding players for us and have been really good players for us, at the moment we need every good player we can get,” Wright on SEN
  23. This time of year once we all start looking at potential trade targets there's different reasoning behind raising certain players or teams. Given it looks like the Hawks are looking at some kind of a rebuild, naturally people are looking at what players they may look to trade. Similar to GWS with their cap squeeze, Carlton with a need for inside mids, Melbourne with perhaps too many inside mids, logic dictates that these things get brought up. Not sure I'd say a 27 year old is 'past it'.
  24. Wouldn't have thought he'd be on the table, but given it's Shane Crawford raising it you never know. Wouldn't put his kind of position/role at the top of our list needs-wise, but would be an improvement on players like Melksham, ANB, Hunt, Hannan, Jones etc IMO. ..................................................................... On Nine’s Full Time, Crawford suggested 27-year-old Wingard - who only joined the club two years ago in a trade from Port Adelaide - could move if a suitable trade package is offered. “You don’t have much control because the club virtually takes control of your destiny a bit, especially if there’s going to be a better deal,” Crawford said. “I think Chad Wingard, I’m not saying you want to trade him, but I reckon clubs would probably see him as the most important Hawthorn player because he’s a wonderful ball user, plays across half forward. “His first six games this year was right up there with the very best. Then he’s had a big drop away, but he’s played a lot more through the middle. “He’s played half forward, he’s a beautiful kick for goal. “It wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of clubs come asking about Chad Wingard and whether or not they can get him on their list.” HAWKS GREAT WOULDN’T BE SHOCKED IF STAR WAS TARGETED
  25. Moore, as in Darcy Moore? Why?
