  1. Sounds like vanders and Jones might be the names in line to take Sparrow's rotation, and a chance we go with 2 rucks.
  2. Apparently there's a scratch match on today. TBH no idea against who etc. Anyone heard anything or know who's playing? Fairly sure Bennell is so he wouldn't be looking at selection this week. Cheers.
  3. What if I told you he averages the same amount of tackles as vandenBerg, with half as many clangers & turnovers...?
  4. It's definitely a case of desperation, but that's where our season stands at the moment. Expecting we see a big of speed among the other changes when the teams comes out.
  5. Haven't followed him very closely, but Rory Atkins has announced he'll leave Adelaide as an unrestricted free agent this year. Know he's meant to be quick and a decent kick (?), would he be handy depth? I'd see him as an upgrade on players like Jones, vandenBerg, Dunkley and the Wagners. Anyone followed him more in-depth?
  6. Huh? Copped an injury from a bump similar to one Viney has previously copped. Is Viney not 'muscular enough for midfield' as well?
  7. Only said he wasn't 100% mate.
  8. He's definitely not 100%, let alone 110%. Get the feeling he'll play though.
  9. Good to see a Demon has come out to attack the sling tackle farce and defend his player... (Kind of) 'Every club is confused': Beveridge wants clarity on 'dangerous' tackles
  10. Yeah I'm just guessing. It's the only 'logical' explanation I can think of tbh. Not great.
  11. Guessing it would be Mathews? No wonder we're a confused mess on the field. Not only do we have (IMO) a poor stable of assistant coaches, but they're seemingly moving around and have changing responsibilities.
  12. We did challenge both the Neal Bullen (albeit no appeal) and Langdon ones. Either we're not defending very well or the system is a farce. I know which way I'm leaning at the moment.
  13. Landgon and Dalhaus ended up with the same punishment. Staggering.
  14. I think he should be held responsible for what he says whether it's prepared or not. The bloke is the CEO of (arguably) the biggest sporting club in the country. Would have thought bringing up a serial killer is one of the first things you learn not to do when talking to the media (if they don't already realize how incredibly offensive it is).
  15. Someone needs to actually have a serious word to the Tigers. We've seen the stuff happening onfield with staging and punching etc, then we had Dimma's poor comments about Schwarz (particularly poor given it's the same club involved with Shane Tuck, Danny Frawley and Reece McKenzie) and now their CEO has made an appalling comment comparing Lynch's treatment to that of serial killer Ivan Milat. Imagine being the family of one of Milat's victims and being reminded of the horror and tragedy because an [censored] CEO thought his undisciplined forward was being victimized like a murderer. Absolutely pathetic coming from someone spoken about as a potential replacement for Gil. Read here: “Tom plays it pretty hard and he cops a lot, he plays a physical brand of footy, but the scrutiny and the attention he’s received, it’s outrageous,” he told 3AW Sportsday. “I can’t believe it, it’s like he’s Ivan Milat,” Gale quipped, referring to the serial killer who took the lives of seven backpackers in the early 1990s. ‘Like he’s Ivan Milat’: Tigers CEO stunned by ‘outrageous’ criticism of Tom Lynch
  16. Michael Christian has to go.
  17. Yep, all good points (although I wasn't the one who raised the government aspect). I should have been clearer, I didn't mean what I wrote to be just about anonymous racist comments, it's about a broader issue of the moderation and responsibility of the social media companies. And I don't think social media companies will act due to the articles, more that once action starts to get serious in demands being made of social media companies; the media, public and documented cases are already there to support the cases brought against them.
  18. Any inside goss on what went on there DD? Seems like a strange one, contracted for another 2 years apparently. What's Solo's go? Strengths? Don't know much about him as a coach. Also just quietly, really hoping we have another crack at a certain Hawks assistant this year too...
  19. I just don't think we're at the stage yet where it's a minor thing that can just be deleted and ignored. IMO the reason these things are raised when they happen is to build the pressure on social media companies to begin to act. They are notoriously poor at recognizing this behaviour let alone acting on it. Someone reported the racist comment made but Instagram came back with 'this doesn't go against our community guidelines'. The AFL are already trying to raise the pressure on social media companies to be more accountable, and they're not alone there, so to me; the more times it's raised the more pressure goes onto them to actually address it properly.
  20. Damian Carroll Don't know a lot about him I'll confess, but 10 years in charge of development for the Hawks is a pretty good resume. Assistant coach cull: Hawks, Suns make tough decisions
  21. Have some business connections (in a second hand kind of way) with a few AFL clubs and the word going around them is the Gabba is a certainty.
  22. Don't really know what else can be said anymore. Just wanted to put it here so us supporters know about it and can get around him in whatever way we can. Melbourne stands with Kysaiah And in Sir Doug Nicholls Round too.
  23. One of them is also the only VFL/AFL player to be arrested for something they did on the field. You just proved everyone else's point.
