I never said he wouldn't make a good coach. My opinion is he needs a bit more experience, that's pretty much it. If you ask the Casey boys, they all loved him as their head coach, and the MFC players all speak highly of him as well. I think he'll be a senior AFL coach at some stage, just not quite yet.

Seem to remember May playing on Charlie Cameron before, so he can play on smalls when needed, not sure it will be this week though. Ran in the GF sprint one year too, so does have wheels.

Mate, I know you hate OMac, but you're stretching the truth a fair bit there. Paraphrasing here: 'When Oscar comes in the side it definitely relieves me of having to play on that 2nd or 1st tall...' 'Don't want to have to keep Oscar out there for me to play well...' 'I definitely enjoy when Oscar is in the side, but don't want to have to rely on that to play well...' https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/804633/media-conference-jake-lever?videoId=804633&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1598855500001

Can't see where we fit him in forward with Fritsch and ANB coming in.
-
Personally I would have gone with Lockhart, but out of the selected team my guess is it will be a mix of Rivers and Smith.
-
He's a good shut down player for ball getter types, but I don't rate him as a stopper for crafty small forwards like Papley.
-
Seems a tall backline for Sydney if that's the case. All of May, Lever, OMac and Smith in the backline.
-
No I wouldn't, and nowhere did I say that. You didn't say anything about apprenticeships, you said Rawlings won't make a good senior coach because he doesn't have "mongrel". Just gave you 3 'mongrels' who were failures as senior coaches.
-
Like Voss? Maybe Hird? How about Neeld?
-
Haha I like that friend zone analogy. Well played.
-
Yet he very nearly got the Freo job because their board were so impressed with him.
-
No it wasn't, he was still contracted.
-
Who says it hasn't worked out well for Rawlings? Clearly wasn't happy at Melbourne with how they mucked around his role, seems to have a more settled role now. Weird bump. Bloke will be a senior coach at some stage. Smart footy person, good communicator, not a 'yes man' like Goody wants. He was a loss for us.

Trying to DM you ET. Inbox full?

Gee who would have thought when you follow someone around making smart alec comments about their posts they'd get annoyed? Let's both chill out with that stuff hey?

The sources say "if we score more than them we win". They also say you should post things already reported in the media as some kind of inside scoop. #ETwiththelatenews #IsETSandraSully #WhatDoesHeKnow #NotMuch

Here's some comparative stats: Goals - Melksham 0.8, Finlayson 1.3 Inside 50s - Melksham 3.4, Finlayson 2.0 Contested Marks - Melksham 0.3, Finlayson 0.8 Marks Inside 50- Melksham 0.7, FInlayson 1.1 Clearances - Melksham 1.9, Finlayson 0.6 Hitouts - Melksham 0.1, Finlayson 1.0 That to me doesn't paint a picture of two players who play the same roles/way.
-
Didn't use the word enforcer, used the word cowboy. Reckon he has a bit of mongrel about him. Showed that in the finals last year (aside from the GF where he was woeful).
-
Finlayson - 196cm, 93kg. Melksham - 185cm, 75kg. Not sure if someone else has heat maps, but anecdotally Melksham spends most of his time 40-75 out, Finlayson not often beyond 45. Don't really agree they play in a similar way or fill similar roles. Sheedy always said "you need a couple of cowboys in your side". I reckon Finyalson could be that for us in the forward line and would make Weid, Jacko, Fritsch etc walk taller. Obviously for the right price, wouldn't be putting a premium on him.
-
"The WA Government has allegedly offered the AFL $36 million to host the Grand Final however the Commission are still in favour..." Maybe next time actually say something instead of hedging your bets with this wishy washy stuff. Rookie. Stick to the funny stuff.

I like Smith as an athlete, but earlier in the year when he was that 3rd defender it just did not work. I agree that May and Lever are generally better with a 3rd tall there, but I think the 'stay at home' types like Oscar and Tomlinson have worked better than an intercept type like Smith.

Pretty sure Gus is dating one of Danny's daughters. This would be a very sobering thing for him to deal with and probably a reminder for us fans how much these young blokes have to deal with sometimes.

Mate, I'm a senior member of a marketing department that has a massive digital presence. The "YouTube algorithm" has nothing to do with what you're talking about with getting 'YouTubers' to create our content.
