Haven't seen anyone saying they have high trade value. Just like every recruit doesn't have to be a gun, or every re-signing is on big coin.
-
What we get from them will likely be vastly different though.
-
Ok, so going by 64%, which was our winning percentage in 2018, we would have to be 11-6 this year to equal that. So yeah, 2 more wins, but also 2 less losses, if you get what I'm saying? If this year was a normal amount of games our record would be 11.6-10.4... My brain is wrecked too now! Also, our percentage is telling: 2018 - 131.4 Currently - 106.2
-
Not a maths expert by any stretch, but saying "we are two wins off" does not seem accurate. It's a 4 game turnaround, not 2. We'd need two more wins AND two less losses.
-
We only have 1 second rounder don't we? (Courtesy of the Hawks) Freo have our 2nd rounder this year.
-
A 26 year old possible All-Australian a direct swap for a struggling, injured and currently dropped soon to be 28 year old....? Don't think so mate.
-
I'm sure the club won't have to think about it a long time, more talking to who is instigating the move.
-
Yeah, would love Williams, haven't heard him linked to us yet though. Perhaps the financial requirements have put us out of the picture?
-
So, is TMac and pick 22 (as it stands currently) a fair price for Saad?
-
Heard similar-ish, hence the thread. Was told he has requested a trade. Didn't want to start a thread with that as there's a clique here that like to whinge when people post that kind of thing.
-
Yep, trade value won't be high, but I think IF he goes it's because he wants to leave not because we want to ship him off.
-
Or maybe Jack doesn't want to stay? It's possible it's not a contract decision and he just wants to change club. (Not saying that's the case, just saying there can be more to these things than the money/terms).
-
We've probably done the form, physical limitations and injury discussions here a fair bit, but wonder if TMac will see the writing on the wall and look for more opportunity elsewhere? Signed until the end of 2022; but hard to know the remuneration situation given he re-signed only 6 games into his stellar 2018 season. Turns 28 soon so might not want to be having to compete with young players for a spot, and plenty of teams would be willing to take a punt on him IMO. Main obstacle could be him passing a physical pending how serious a toll his injuries have taken. Reckon it's a bit of a 'watch this space' with TMac.

Funnily enough, he didn't mention Smith or Wingard when he brought up names. “If you’re talking about those sort of guys Breust, Gunston, Liam Shiels who have been outstanding players for us and have been really good players for us, at the moment we need every good player we can get,” Wright on SEN

This time of year once we all start looking at potential trade targets there's different reasoning behind raising certain players or teams. Given it looks like the Hawks are looking at some kind of a rebuild, naturally people are looking at what players they may look to trade. Similar to GWS with their cap squeeze, Carlton with a need for inside mids, Melbourne with perhaps too many inside mids, logic dictates that these things get brought up. Not sure I'd say a 27 year old is 'past it'.

Wouldn't have thought he'd be on the table, but given it's Shane Crawford raising it you never know. Wouldn't put his kind of position/role at the top of our list needs-wise, but would be an improvement on players like Melksham, ANB, Hunt, Hannan, Jones etc IMO. ..................................................................... On Nine’s Full Time, Crawford suggested 27-year-old Wingard - who only joined the club two years ago in a trade from Port Adelaide - could move if a suitable trade package is offered. “You don’t have much control because the club virtually takes control of your destiny a bit, especially if there’s going to be a better deal,” Crawford said. “I think Chad Wingard, I’m not saying you want to trade him, but I reckon clubs would probably see him as the most important Hawthorn player because he’s a wonderful ball user, plays across half forward. “His first six games this year was right up there with the very best. Then he’s had a big drop away, but he’s played a lot more through the middle. “He’s played half forward, he’s a beautiful kick for goal. “It wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of clubs come asking about Chad Wingard and whether or not they can get him on their list.” HAWKS GREAT WOULDN’T BE SHOCKED IF STAR WAS TARGETED

Moore, as in Darcy Moore? Why?
-
Reckon Taylor will retire, Hawkins should be paid well, but wouldn't think Tuohy, Narkle, Stanley, Parfitt or Rohan are on big coin. Geelong seem to find a way to fit their contracts in. Anyway, my post was more about the point that they don't have to find trade currency.

Cameron is a free agent.

Can't tell if you're serious or not... ?♂️ It was on the Hawks website tho.
-
Yeah, it's definitely a worry it's getting so late in the season and he's not signed. It's a unique year though with list and cap changes seeming likely. We've got a fair few players you'd think we'd keep that are unsigned still. You're right though, seems like the type of contract we'd have done by now if he was staying.
-
Who's saying they haven't? Gut feel is they would have.
-
Thanks mate! And with Stratton and Puopolo now retiring they will be keen to keep him you'd think.

Rated elite for uncontested possessions, intercept possessions, rebound 50s. Rated as above average for disposals, kicks, marks, inside 50s, rating points, effective disposals, metres gained. Might not be in BnF form these days, but 'struggling' seems an overreach.
