Is that official somewhere or you've just got the good word?

How about you put me on ignore then champ? You quote things I have in my post and then make comment about other things I post. You appear regularly as a recent visitor to my profile here and put laugh reacts on my posts. I suggest you do yourself a favour and don't read my posts if they upset you so much. I merely responded to your assertion with facts. Cheers.

Won the time trial AGAIN at the start of preseason (and has won it every year since 2015). Came third in the one at the end of January in the same week he had a new baby.

A few I would have on my list to enquire about (that would be some kind of chance): Zac Fisher (Contracted to 2021, not likely to move, but Carlton will look for big body help for Cripps) Brent Daniels (Contracted to 2021, not likely, big squeeze on at GWS tho so worth asking) Jake Aarts (Rookie, out of contract) Shane McAdam (Contracted to 2021, who knows with Adelaide though) Orazio Fantasia (Contracted to 2021, as above tho)

Would be 32 when next season starts, but we could get him dirt cheap. Still dominates the Hawks' time trials and is in their leadership group, both qualities that would appeal to us on top of giving us another genuine wing option. Obviously wouldn't be around a long time, so I guess we weigh up if the potential impact he would have over 1-2 years is worth the effort.
-
They don't want to 'get rid of him' though, they want to keep him, it's Jack's decision.
-
Don't know specifically, but you'd think they would have at least opened up the discussions and/or offers. From what I've heard via both rumour and reasonably 'in the know' people; there's a bit of a cultural disconnect with Jack and some of the younger players. He's everything we think from the outside: hard worker, demanding, serious, but he's not a great communicator or what you'd call a 'people person' so the dynamic just isn't quite working in that way. I think we need that kind of mentality at our club personally, bit like Michael Jordan if you've watched 'The Last Dance', but I'm not sure who it's up to to make it work properly. I'm torn about him leaving. I can see how it potentially helps the midfield mix. I can also see how it might help our skills in the middle (I've been highly critical of his delivery inside 50 in the past), but we're also a club that struggles in a big way with consistency of effort and 'ruthlessness' which are both things I think Viney brings.

Backline philosophy has change since then though, just ask Sam Frost. Right or wrong, Goodwin decided our backline needed to be more dependable and safe, which does not suit Hunt, and definitely does not suit being told to go out there and just play with dare. IMO the options are either he accepts his place as a forward who might play half the games at most; or he moves on to another team willing to offer him more opportunity. I hope he stays, seems an absolutely ripping fella, obviously has the pace we need more of too, but I would also understand if he moved on to get more of a go elsewhere.
-
Yep, can totally see your point. I'm banking on him being totally right to go if selected. I just think it's a more dangerous mix as far as kicking goals goes. Brown was ok tonight sure, but he did his work up the ground, I'd just like to see us have two genuine key forward roles so our entries can be better (fingers crossed). We did better with not being boundary line obsessed tonight, but personally I'd like to push that a little harder and be even more direct.
-
Yep, can totally see your point, but I think they played very different roles tonight. Brown roamed high up the ground, was even used in defence in the second half a bit. Thought he played ok. Personally I just think the Jackson/Weid mix has a better chance of kicking goals than a Brown/Jackson mix. Haynes is a very good defender, none of our key forwards would have done much tonight against him and with the standard MFC delivery. I just think as far as roles go, Brown and Jackson are the interchangeable ones.

IN: Jackson, Hannan, Hibberd OUT: Brown, Melksham, Jetta (inj) Brown can stay if Jackson isn't right to go. Doubt Melksham will be dropped by old mate Simon 'Ruthless' Goodwin, but putting it there anyway.

Surprised there isn't a thread in this section already. To this point, still not contracted, and apparently Essendon and his management are a fair way apart on terms. IMO, adding Saad would change our mix considerably. Would mean no more Harmes in the backline, would give us more run and would open up the option of having Salem and/or Rivers having a run further up the ground. There's other players who could bring that to us as well of course, but Saad is a quality player and would definitely form part of the overall picture of changing our dynamic.

If Viney goes it's because he wants to leave; not because the club doesn't want him.

Wrong Smith mate. They're talking about Steven Smith, former president of the MCC.

There's a current experienced assistant coach who I reckon could be looked at should Goody not be around next year. Highly rated in AFL circles, narrowly missed out on a couple of senior jobs, has strengths that we need and has a connection with Richardson too. Not to mention recent premiership experience in charge of a midfield.
-
Look at it this way. I believe frees against are included in clangers (can anyone confirm that?). Cripps averages 1 clanger per 5.7 disposals vandenBerg averages 1 clanger per 3.9 disposals Plus, Cripps averages 2.4 frees for, vandenBerg 0.7 (Cripps also averages more than twice as many tackles as vandenBerg)

IN: TMac (Jackson if he's ready), Lockhart, Spargo, Hannan OUT: Preuss, Smith, Bedford, Baker Would like to see Salem and Rivers rotate through the wing. Also keen to get Oliver more outside the contest for a different look, force him to change up his thinking. Viney and Petracca more in the middle.
-
Ah yep, fair call. As much as I think Yze will make a great senior coach at some stage, it doesn't feel like a good idea at all for us to bring in someone no absolutely proven should we move Goodwin on.
-
Came very close to getting the Adelaide job, and someone else mentioned here they heard he nearly got the Freo job. Credited with greatly improving the kicking skills at the Hawks, worked his way up to being strategy coach. Kicking skills and strategy would be pretty much the first things on the wish list for most of us I reckon. Personally I don't think he's quite ready to be senior coach for us, but I can't imagine a better fit for an assistant coach, possibly with the view that he's the successor to an experienced coach we name. Couldn't care less he's a former Demon.

Less than continually hiring and firing the wrong people and not winning games.
-
(Reasonably realistic) wish list... Head Coach (3-4 years) - Ross Lyon Forward Coach/Successor - Adem Yze Midfield Coach - Dean Solomon Backline Coach - Luke Hodge Ruck/Stoppages - Ben Mathews Part Time Goal Kicking Coach - Brad Green Head Of Development - Mark Williams Development Coach - Jordan Lewis Director Of Football - Alan Richardson

Yeah they have.

Yes, the article says we're one of the clubs linked to him, I put it in there that we had specifically interviewed him. Not claiming it as earth shattering news, but that info had not been put out yet. Look, it's up to you, either I've heard some stuff or there's been some amazingly lucky guesses.
