  1. Here's some comparative stats: Goals - Melksham 0.8, Finlayson 1.3 Inside 50s - Melksham 3.4, Finlayson 2.0 Contested Marks - Melksham 0.3, Finlayson 0.8 Marks Inside 50- Melksham 0.7, FInlayson 1.1 Clearances - Melksham 1.9, Finlayson 0.6 Hitouts - Melksham 0.1, Finlayson 1.0 That to me doesn't paint a picture of two players who play the same roles/way.
  2. Didn't use the word enforcer, used the word cowboy. Reckon he has a bit of mongrel about him. Showed that in the finals last year (aside from the GF where he was woeful).
  3. Finlayson - 196cm, 93kg. Melksham - 185cm, 75kg. Not sure if someone else has heat maps, but anecdotally Melksham spends most of his time 40-75 out, Finlayson not often beyond 45. Don't really agree they play in a similar way or fill similar roles. Sheedy always said "you need a couple of cowboys in your side". I reckon Finyalson could be that for us in the forward line and would make Weid, Jacko, Fritsch etc walk taller. Obviously for the right price, wouldn't be putting a premium on him.
  4. "The WA Government has allegedly offered the AFL $36 million to host the Grand Final however the Commission are still in favour..." Maybe next time actually say something instead of hedging your bets with this wishy washy stuff. Rookie. Stick to the funny stuff.
  5. I like Smith as an athlete, but earlier in the year when he was that 3rd defender it just did not work. I agree that May and Lever are generally better with a 3rd tall there, but I think the 'stay at home' types like Oscar and Tomlinson have worked better than an intercept type like Smith.
  6. Pretty sure Gus is dating one of Danny's daughters. This would be a very sobering thing for him to deal with and probably a reminder for us fans how much these young blokes have to deal with sometimes.
  7. Mate, I'm a senior member of a marketing department that has a massive digital presence. The "YouTube algorithm" has nothing to do with what you're talking about with getting 'YouTubers' to create our content.
  8. That's internships, most AFL (or AFLW in this case you've posted) clubs have done that for years. Internships are a different concept to outsourcing.
  9. FTA? Huh? To Hell & Back was hosted and posted on YouTube mate. There will be cuts and restructuring, as there will be everywhere. Don't really understand why you think people would volunteer to do this and why a business so dependent on marketing would outsource a key part of it to unpaid amateurs.
  10. Sorry mate, can't agree with this at all and I think you're forgetting a big percentage of staff have been stood down so the media department is currently running on fumes. Go back and watch To Hell & Back and see what you think of our media department and 'video department'. The production, footage, direction and quality of content was top notch. The media department has been absolutely nailing it this year. And no offence, but I don't think you understand the difference between a YouTuber and a media production department. They're not similar things. On top of that, thinking we'll outsource something as important as marketing and content production to some volunteers is pretty out of touch.
  11. It's just opinion at this stage. I just don't think he'll go on next year now that injuries are taking their toll. Has had a bigger impact inside the club than what most of us would realize.
  12. Think people are underestimating the person Nathan Jones is here very much. He really is not the type to want to be gifted anything. Find it a bit sad that this is the discussion happening around what is likely the end of his gutsy career.
  13. Alright, you guys have convinced me. Add him into the outs. Who gets Paps you reckon? Lockhart?
  14. Yeah guess so. Considered dropping OMac for Harmes, but thought maybe that's too many changes?
  15. IN: Lockhart, Bedford, Fritsch OUT: Hibberd (inj), Kozzy (rest), vandenBerg
  16. That's fair enough then. Was more bringing it up to stick up for ANB somewhat TBH. Kozzy just needs a little luck with a few bounces, loving it that we have a player who does so much off the ball.
  17. ANB is ranked 3rd. Just saying. Also, why are you going by total instead of average?
  18. Pretty tough to not give Goody at least a big part of the credit for that win. Had a plan that worked. Luckily it wasn't really challenged and he didn't have to adjust during the game, but he showed his talent as a coach tonight. These 'response wins' are our standard practice though, so it's hard to be convinced until we see the team bring a plan, effective changes to the plan when needed, effort and understanding consistently. I was 100% one of the doomsayers before the game, so I'll take my whack for that.
  19. Only so many times it's helpful to whack your coach and players in public. Doesn't mean things haven't been said that aren't in the papers tho.
  20. Could get ugly tonight. Been mentioned plenty of times how the Saints have us clearly outgunned for run and carry, but it's gone a bit under the radar how much they can actually match us in the contest this year too. Hearing Gibbo talk about how we may go long inside 50 to try and take the Saints intercept markers out of the game was an extremely sobering thing as well. We're a bit of a mess at the moment and I don't think we have the leadership to pull it together tonight. Hoping for either a miraculous win or a loss that is bad enough to trigger genuine change and not just more corporate speak.
  21. Yep, and the problem is, it's been largely left to Spargo and Pickett to provide the forward pressure. Hannan, Melksham and Fritsch all poor in that area, especially the last month or so. Combine that with our delivery going gradually backwards again and it's a recipe for scores from turnovers, a big weakness. Dogs kicked 5 of their 6 goals from turnovers in that 3rd quarter last week.
  22. You said: "when have you seen geelong target anyone who is out of favour or 50;50 to improve the side over the last 5-10 years" All of those players were 50/50 or out of favour, and that is clearly evidenced by their trade value. Do you think they targeted them thinking they wouldn't improve their side? I never said Atkins would be a lock in our 22. Not every player you target is meant to be a star, it's about improving your list overall, and IMO Atkins is a clear step up in what we need and is a better option that a stack of players currently on our list.
  23. Rohan was traded in for pick 61. They also signed Jenkins, who no body wanted. Jack Stevens another example IMO.
