There's plenty more of those. Always handy when someone uses a hashtag. -
Crows Attempting to Poach Darren Burgess

You're right, I shouldn't respond, even if it is with one of the countless rumours he got completely wrong in the past, but he seems to get a free pass on here because he sometimes posts jokes. -

He's an unrestricted free agent.

We desperately need a gun key forward
Lord Nev replied to Pickett2Jackson's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah, player I thought could be a good option was re-signed by his own club. Real rib-tickler. Right up there with 'if we score more points than them we should win' in the comedy classics. Can't wait for the movie. -

I'm assuming you're trolling, but in the rare chance you're not, he re-signed with Carlton. -
It might.

To the Crows for pick 44 or 48 would be about fair, although if we could potentially make it ANB and 47 for pick 30 that would be a great deal for us, although not as likely.

Contract talks apparently put on hold and he's certain to cop a strike according to FoxSports. Bizarre that some think this would be a non-story.

Oh boy.... This situation is about to change. Crows pair, including gun free agent, allegedly caught with ‘illicit substance’ by police in early morning incident
-
And he's off... Contracted ruckman decides to leave Melbourne Preuss to GWS, pick somewhere around 35-45 back, then on-trade that for Polec. That'd be a fair deal I reckon.

Off to GWS I reckon.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Lord Nev replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
This was tucked away in an article in the Herald Sun today, mostly about a potential Preuss trade. Harley Bennell will be cut from the Demons after a disappointing finish to his time at the club. Bennell, who was lined up to secure a contract extension a fortnight ago, broke COVID-19 protocols and dismissed Melbourne’s attempts to bring him back to Maroochydore. -
TBH it's not something I take a massive amount of interest in, so not an expert by any stretch. My guess would be he would be on about $600k PA with a new contract. To me, that would seem about right for his BnF placings, age and leadership history.

The article you guys are talking about isn't listing his salary at the Dees or his expected salary at the Dees, and it says right off the bat the clubs generally have to pay overs to lure someone away. "Luring a target out of his original home typically forces the new club to pay overs, while destination clubs are often happy to pay even more for free agents knowing they won't have to part with a draft pick." The price you have to pay: All the top trade targets and their market value

Polec for TMac is gathering momentum apparently. Didn't expect that, thought North had already said no, but maybe they're that keen to get rid of him.

Your mail is good/different.

I said 5, but I'd trust Dannyz word, has had good mail plenty of times.
-
I like Hannan, but does he have the tank for the wing? Seems more of a 'burst' player who drifts in and out of games. I guess anything is possible with a big preseason tho.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Lord Nev replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
His agent has already come out and said he wanted to stay. -
And take attention away from the award winners? Not sure on that logic.

Missing the point mate. The Rising Star award doesn't define a players career or the context of what their importance to their team is and will become.
