The Pies fans are insufferable, the talk im hearing on radio is how easily they will just waltz over us. Just makes you want to go...

That is the mystery. And that is why people say he lacks mongrel. Last week against the Doggies we saw how Sam can thrive with faster ball movement. He is clearly not a pack marker. That’s ok, lots of forwards aren’t. Naughton, Curnow, McKay etc are forwards that would work in our system. He just doesn’t fit our system and I think he is aware of that. We could really benefit from a dedicated forward coach who could teach craft, leading patterns etc that would work with our system.. I think Weid would benefit greatly from this.

So i did all of that number crunching for nothin!

And so you are suggesting we get Brisbanes, Freo's and Doggies first round picks for 2022? Which would be something like Picks 10,13,14. We could then then swap picks 10,14 for WC pick 2/3? Effectively giving us first dibs at a KPF and KPD / Ruck prospect. So Freo give us pick 10,13 and 2nd rounder for LJ (Pick 10 for Lobb - which seems a bit overs). We then use our 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder + Freo's 2nd rounder for Brisbane's 1st. Thats a pretty good outcome if you ask me. But a lot of ifs and buts.
-
But can you imagine what it would be mean to win one in those circumstances!

i hear you, if he can get his fitness to 90% then you wouldn't think twice about it. I wonder how he can prepare without stressing his foot that can build match fitness. he should have aerobic covered, but its more the work that has to go into his muscles.

The thing with Gus could have been years more than money. The club may have wanted to offer 4, Gus may have wanted 7 and they finally settled on 6. $$$ would have been part of it, but there are many other factors. Also with a contract that long, they may have backloaded to allow a 2 year contract extension for LJ in case he wants to stay. Where there is a will there is a way.

He got a hard tag from Aish and did the team thing. We all know he is a great footballer that would rather a premiership medallion than a coaches award around his neck. Still has a great chance and will unlikely attract a tag for the last 3 games.
-
Hasnt been a stand-out at GWS until he moved into the backline a month ago. He is definitely an upgrade on what we have though so as long as we didnt give up overs then it would work i think.
-
We dont have to match anything. He is not a Restricted Free Agent.
-
Darcy + Pick 14-16 sounds great for the Dees, but feels a bit unrealistic.
-
Why not go after Sean Darcy from Freo? He grew up in Victoria... i'd be getting into his hear to remind him of what he's missing out in Victoria. He will be in Geelong's crosshairs in a few years time (played for Geelong Falcons) so lets get on it now when we have the opportunity. Is it a straight swap? If not who has to cough extra trade capital?

I know right? How does that even happen for a team that finished top 4. It is absolute BS. I know some of this has to do with luck, but we have played 3 of our double games against top 8 while the Cats have played 2 teams in the top 8. The other top 4 teams have a similarly easier draw. Bottom line is we won the premiership so we are destined to have the toughest draw. But it was a bit of luck that made it harder.

Yeah but it’s clubs that release them from their contracts. AS far as I’m concerned he says he wants to be closer to family and the Eagles can also make that possible. They have a better draft hand so id put that to Peter Bell and say come to us with something palatable or don’t waste our time. Worst case is LJ signs with us for another 2. He still won’t become a RFA or FA at the end of that, so we can happily do the same again.
-
Is it WA or Freo ? We are lulled into thinking it’s Freo or bust. Last I checked there are two clubs in WA, both fulfill the go home factor. If I was Tim Lamb, I’m picking up the phone to the Eagles everyday telling him how good LJ is and that we’d take their 1st pick and some steak knives (be it a player or their 2nd rounder as well).
-
Tigers will need to reload in the draft this season. Dusty will request a trade to GWS, Cotchin, Riewoldt will probably retire. Perfect time for us to pass on our some of our picks for LJ to snare Balta l reckon.
-
I’m not a firm believer just yet. They are playing well on their home deck but look vulnerable away from it. .
-
Just on Sunday Footy Show Goodwin in a recent 3aw interview said something along the lines of “ we just ask him to play his best for the time that we have him”. Sounds like a slip of the tongue. I wonder how much this actually lowers our hand in the trade.
-
Those holding out hope for Sam are kidding themselves. He is just not up to it. We in the other hand need to secure a KPF. Was watching some Of BBB last year and there is a considerable difference in output. I think his knee is cooked. Geez it would have been handy to snag Walker.
-
Josh Bruce looks done I reckon. Turning circle of a semi trailer.

Got to give credit where credits due. Geelong look pretty formidable. Dogs defence is not helping them. 3-4 goals out the back just shouldn’t happen. They apply lots of pressure, which shows they are hungry. We haven’t seen how they cope with similar pressure. Let’s see it in finals.
-
Prediction. Dogs +10 frees and it will be talked about all week because it was against Geelong.
-
Bucks needs to take his goggles off. He’s no longer the coach.
-
What is the hype surrounding the pies. They are nowhere near finals quality. Very very ordinary footy side. But they keep getting the Ws. I can’t believe we lost to this mob. But expecting the boys to make a big statement next Friday night. Think Gawny will save a special rev up for the boys for this one.

I know what you mean but It’s the whole season on this particular stat and I actually think it has been quite evident. We haven’t been dog hungry like 21 - but I also think this is more by design and has probably gone a bit too far.
