  1. I think there is element of loading that has effected our performance of late but our pressure has been down all year - even at the start. ‘playing in 2nd gear’ , ‘just getting it done’, ‘winning ugly’ we’re being dished out in the first 10 rounds. The lack of pressure is obviously exacerbated by our loading program. I always thought the lack of pressure was by design . There is no need to smash teams early in the year - it’s a very long season. The wins are the important outcome and we relied on system to get this done. However 18th in pressure when our system relies on it wasn’t what I expected and I think the complacency has crept into the game. The focus on ruthlessness this week was to remind ourselves of what it takes to win in Sept, knowing that you cant just switch it on like a light switch - you need to build into it.
  2. Two picks in the teens over two years are just not enough for him. I think we all want someone in the media to stop saying he is gone and ask how do you get it done, which is what they did with Cerra.
  3. 6. Trac 5. Viney 4. Brayshaw 3. Petty 2. Fritta 1. Pig
  4. Chandler waiting in the wings. I think you need to pull the trigger on that one. Spargs and Kozzy did their job. Doubt it will happen though.
  5. Sparrow was good I thought. Harmes will struggle to come back in I think.
  6. Logie was serviceable I think. Would be an improvement on Weid. But does he play when TMac and BBB are firing?
  7. Freo are off, but will get a rev up. I say it every week. Need a huge start in the third to pepper their response. We have been wasteful.
  8. No frontal contact there either in Fritta. [censored] putrid umpiring
  9. How HTB not being paid for us. I count 4 already.
  10. Let’s make sure we get there with some form and give ourselves a decent shot first.
  11. Brayshaw to run through the middle tonight. Seems like he got his way with the new contract 😂
  12. And we can make a gentleman’s agreement between all parties to get it done within that time frame. I hope LJ is considering that as a viable option as well if things don’t work out this trade period.
  13. And I had found peace with it after several long therapy sessions at the pub. No need to open that old chestnut again.
  14. I can’t listen to anything either but more so because I hate the doom and gloom and we went from favourites to not a chance. I hope you are right @binman I really do. But for me it is going to be an unenjoyable night as I’m tense and have butterflies from anxiety. Was listening to Jonesy on SEN on the way home before and he mentioned that we haven’t been as bad as everyone is saying and that there are positive elements to our game that no one really talks about. The big talking point was that sides have switched the most against us 27% with the next most being Doggies at 20%. Freo have been the most prolific switcher off half back but have lately been really slow allowing teams to setup. Make of that what you will.
  15. I reckon the Port will roll the pies. They are asking for a team to give them a good ol spanking. The question is how will they respond the following week...which is us. Going by the Doggies performance, id expect them to challenge the Cats ball movement, but you just cannot see how they hold up defensively. If the game goes to a shoot out, then it maybe close. But given its Duckwood's 350th you can just see the AFL giving him a few cheapies. Don't care about the other games tbh
  16. I actually like this. Gives him a taste of what is to come if/when he joins Freo. He may salivate at the prospect of being in the limelight all the time, but all indications thus far is that he probably doesn't. If he does go to Freo on the big coin that has been reported and has a year like he has this year, I would expect some journo's to start the questioning on whether it was the right move for Freo. I suppose it can also play out the 'otherway'.
  17. In all fairness, Key Forwards or rucks even rarely have an impact in their first few years. Jackson has had an impact more in the ruck but has done a little damage up forward (well short of what we'd like obviously). His game time is also quite low compared to others, which begs a question around fitness.
  18. Hunt will go ballistic with pressure to keep his spot.
  19. I have. 10, 14 does not cut it. You couldn’t even package that up to trade for top 5. LJ was a pick 3 and now rising start, premiership player. This means (imo) a top 5 pick plus another 1st rounder. If he was mid to late 20s then I’d agree regarding with your trade , but he’s still starting out with proven ability.
  20. Lobb for #10 is way overs. He’s a late first at best. Freo need to deal to get a top 5 pick and only then does that pick become acceptable.
  21. Would you look at Matt Crouch as a possible replacement for Brayshaw? Won’t cost us much in trade and cap. I must say I don’t know much about him these days but remember he was supposed to be pretty good. Would have a relationship with Lever, is 27 so could be of service for a few years. But I’m worried he’s been blacklisted by the Crows. Does anyone know the backstory here? Also what would you give Richmond for Noah Balta? They will go into rebuild mode soon so they could do with some draft picks. I think he would be a massive upgrade on LJ.
  22. Nope Only Thursday night games announced in Wednesdays.. Usual time for the rest of the round is Thursday.
  23. Fwiw, Some people are genetically predisposed to lower than average depth perception or may have an underlying physiological condition which impairs depth perception. It is not always something that can be corrected with optical lenses.
  24. Problem is we have been on the receiving end of those emotionally driven performances a lot this year. It happened last year against the Pies as well.
