  1. For LJ he fulfils both current and future needs so any equitable trade needs to do the same. Someone who can impact now and is presumably 28+ and is in top 15 bracket of their club and then we need a pick that fairly represents his future worth, which is a top 3 pick. Eagles can offer us that, Freo cannot.
  2. I’d love to snag the other Brayshaw, but has anyone thought where we would actually play him?
  3. 💯
  4. Any other player from any other team would have ‘been.n example of’ and copped 6. Could you imagine if that was Toby Greene laying the bump?
  5. Petty / Turner should cover May. LJ hopefully covers Gawn so I think we are covered in those key positions s for the next decade. Forward line is where we need talent pronto. We could have sustained success for the next 10 years similar to Geelong if we can develop and attract talent there. Both McKay and Curnow come out of contract next year so we should definitely see how we can target one of them. Will take a mammoth offer though but could pull of a Tigeresque move like they did for Lynch.
  6. This bugs me big time. The last two years we have had compromised drafts with JUH and Daicos. I get the romance and all, but if you want true equalisation of Comp, you have to scrap the FS. I can just see this getting introduced the year before Viney Mk3 or Brayshaw-Frawley (granted decades away) are likely 😃

Why are we stuck with this game at TIO? I thought the deal had now completed. We don’t need the cash anymore so can’t the AFL get another club in need of dollars up there instead. It’s incredibly taxing on the players and we lose the home ground advantage.
  8. 100%. It was a coward act and he should get penalised to the full extent. Hits like that can end careers. What if that was Gus or Paddy McCartin? Time for a statement punishment I think to really drive the point home that you cannot go past the ball and bump and expect a few weeks. Bumps past the ball with a concussed player should be 4 weeks minimum and an additional 1 week for every extra week (after the 12 days) the concussed player misses out due to ongoing concussion symptoms (max 12 weeks)
  9. A few dodgy umpiring calls ruining this game.
  10. I can’t wait for the return leg. If we bring the same intensity as the Lions game it’s a completely different proposition.
  11. Nah mate every Richmond game is like this. I feel sorry for them tbh.
  12. Geez the Tigers get the short stick from the umps all the time. That wasn’t a 50.
  13. Cameron eye gouging? What’s the going rate for that?
  14. Just saw it. He’ll get 3-4 reduced to 2 I think. No way gets just 1 week for that, it’s actually the perfect example of what the AFL don’t want to see when you elect to bump.
  15. Lobb can kick them outside 50 on a 45 degree angle against us but miss 10m directly in front. Freo can keep him.
  16. That is how you kick with a centre clearance. Curnow leads and Hewett kicks it down his throat. We get enough centre clearances but bomb it onto the top of the square. BBB , Weid and can Fritta can all play as hit up forwards so why cant we do it?
  17. That team could beat Norf
  18. Doggies wining the FC count and Melbourne smashing teams in the 8. Order is restored.
  19. Perhaps. But sitting in AFL reserve for the 1st quarter (predominately Lions supporters), then the MFC reserve area of SS for the rest of the game had a stark contrast in volume. Sometimes when we would kick a goal, there would be no response bar the cheer squad i.e. Harmes goal where the crowd celebration was pathetic. However every time the Lions kicked a goal, the Southern stand would erupt. So technically we may have outnumbered them, but they were clearly more vocal than our fans.
  20. I was at the game and i would say a good 20-25K were Brisbane supporters. We have been outnumbered again and it probably came through on the tele as well. I get its a Thursday night, but if it wasnt for the BCNA, i would suspect the crowd would have been 10-15K lower.
  21. well he's on the wrong side of 29 then.. you get my point nonetheless.
  22. It’s a well known career ending type of injury and he’s in the wrong side of 30. He may come back but will he be able run , jump and mark as before? We would be silly to not look for adding to the forward arsenal - Mitch Brown will probably be delisted so if anything to allow TMac to rehabilitate properly and not feel rushed.
  23. I thought Weed was ok. Solid team performance, did his role, wasn’t outmarked too much and was serviceable. Maybe we just have to give this kid a different role other than FF, he has good skills and is good mark and kick, he’ll I even saw him lay tackle.
  24. No change
  25. my votes from M16 southern stand. Hard to get a real appreciation of what others on the tele might have seen better. 6: Jack Viney. That bone-crunching tackle could be heard from Row R. I swear the stadium shock. 5: Lever. Great to see him tacking those intercept marks again. Especially against the Brisbane forward line 4: Oliver. The machine keeps on giving. He is on track for a brownlow at this rate. 3: James Jordan. He is owning the defensive wing so well. 2: Brayshaw. Career best year. I like him at half back 1: Jackson. in the 3rd quarter was playing a perfect link up role on top F50. Harmes gets a special mention for his lockdown on Neale and hurting him the other way.
