PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
The way teams have sliced us open this year on the rebound is frightening and I worry this will lead to at least a 10 goal loss of the Tigs bring there pressure. Lynch/Riewoldt would be picking there lips for Wednesday night. Not sure how we will stop them from kicking a bag against us.

You may have missed our ginger headed All Australian and Bluey Truscott winning midfielder.....

Sack everyone (mega-thread)
Didn’t Clark re-injure his foot and then have some soft tissue injuries (calf) on the same leg multiple times? From what I remember, he continually tried to come back to early as he wanted to repay the faith but should have been told to cool his jets. Not sure if this is Missons job or not. Trengove story is similar in continually playing injured. This has more to do with us picking a 21 year old kid as captain (similar to what we may have done with Viney!!!)

Post Game: Rd 5 v St. Kilda
Wow I feel sorry for our key forwards , what chance do they have? The only contests they get to are 50m bombs in where they are flying for massive contested grabs each time. I’m a fan of the Weid but he has no chance of out marking multiple men and even when he brings it down it’s just gone so quickly. TMac struggling even more is worrying. He did have off season surgery but remained one of the fittest in the club with the time trials. He shouldn’t have lost much touch but looks a shell of his 2018 self. Still, my biggest worry remains being this crap footy of bombing it in to big contests has got to stop. It’s u/14 rubbish. You’re an afl footballer, lower your eyes and hit a lead for goodness sake. Back your skill. It’s the same crap we whinged about last year when we were playing poorly. Unfortunately, even though he has played well, Preuss makes it very hard to retain the ball up forward. His hands aren’t great and he adds zero pressure on the deck. If he is going to stay in (seems likely) then TMac or Weid must go to bring in another quick to lock it in. We are missing AVB and Hannan more than we are missing Lever/May at present. It’s embarrassing how quickly the ball hits the turf and rebounds so quickly with minimum pressure.

Post Game: Rd 5 v St. Kilda
I don’t think it was Hibberd alone handling him. Hore had a go at him for a while as well from what I saw. Don’t think we had any other options with Frost taking Bruce. Membrey is a different match up being quite quick for a tall defender and still marks quite high for a mid defender (Hore/Hibbo). If he was a hawk, pie or tiger everyone would rave about him imo. He’s a pretty handy player who loves playing us unfortunately

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Linked up nicely twice then had a shocker of a turnover under no pressure which looked very lazy. Zero tackles to half time however is the biggest glaring stat for me. Isn’t this what he is meant to bring? Very disappointing today. Needs a massive second half or it will be Jeffy time vs the tigs

Time to show Oscar some respect!
I’ve been calling for it but I never take satisfaction in a young kid being dropped. I still think at present we will be better off without him in as he’s having a poor season. I’m intrigued around your comment on if May/Lever were playing that he’d play on the third tall. He very well could but I still think he will always get the main man as a pure stopper with May/Lever floating across for help and a chop out. Those two are better defenders but by far more valuable to intercept and rebound as well. If Oscar plays, I think it will be in a role similar to Astbury/Talia/Frawley who would still take the key forward and focus on nothing more than defence defence defence.

POST GAME: Rd 04 vs Sydney
I wasn’t aware of this stat to be honest and was having a read of footywire to get some context. Its a positive he is leading our club but his average per game lists him at 37 on the list and is behind nearly every fullback in the league. This is not only poor as he offers zero offensively but poor because the pill is in our defence more than every other team in the comp. We have been the host heavily scored against team this year by far. I’m just as disgusted in the rest of our defenders who don’t appear higher in this list. They are getting plenty of opportunity. I know he puts his body on the line and will cop one for the team. I don’t doubt this courage at all in that regard. What I meant was courage in the air taking the intercept mark. Hes our key defender playing for the heaviest scored against team and doesn’t appear in the top 100 players of intercepts this year. I want him to back himself, mark the pill or fist it 30 yards from the contest. As for Goodwin picking him, what other choice does he have with the main two on the sidelines? Also, he’s clearly not rated that highly noting that even though we have the poorest kicking team in the comp (my thoughts) and the slowest, we still traded our last three first round draft picks for key defenders.... what does that tell you? I sound like an Oscar hater and I’m really not. I’d love nothing more than him to turn it around this week and you to come back and say “told you so” but he is clearly playing his worst footy since arriving this year and it’s hard to watch. I want him to have a spell in the twos, learn to mark, gain some confidence and come back a better player as right now he looks like a deer in the headlights. I hope nothing more that he proves me wrong but I can’t see him “wowing” me anytime soon and would be surprised if he even holds his spot this week.

POST GAME: Rd 04 vs Sydney
I think your clutching at straws a little binman to say his gut running to assist zoning is a reason he played well. If this is all he is offering to the team at the moment plus some token “one per-centres” he’s on thin ice. With the 6v6 he can’t just slide a little spoil down in front of him, he needs to really smoke it ten rows back. I’d love to see him more courageous in the air and throw himself at some contests. I’m not going to get into him about a couple possessions he turned it over as he’s usually fairly safe with the pill once it’s in his hands. Hes not looking confident at the moment but I still think he will be fine within a couple years. Just not right now for me

Casey Demons v North Melbourne VFL - Round 2
Was this said by the coaches during the game? Interesting comment if so. If he’s playing a pressure forward role and he laid that many I’d be stoked but if he’s on the wing I’d rather see him racking up bulk linking touches that are effective and no fumbles - or at least getting some touch back. Im honestly not a big fan but hope he gets back to his best as he has battled big time this season

Round 4 Non MFC games
Dylan Grimes what a last quarter! Amazing work. Wasn’t he meant to be the brother who wasn’t as good? He’s played some good footy the last couple years. I was hoping for Port but figure the tigs will definitely play finals footy where we might end up battling with someone like port for a spot in the 8 so the result probably favours us. Tom Lynch is worth every cent as well. What could have been if we had a draft pick one pick earlier.....

Operation get rid of Oscar and ANB!
They both need a spell in the twos. Tmac must be injured as I can’t believe how far he has regressed from last year. Still, he has a bucketload more presence than Oscar. Send him back, he was a solid CHB before the move forward and get rid of little bro. Keilty up forward. ANB is the biggest front runner I’ve seen in my 30 years supporting. The kids scared of his own shadow. I would have kept Bugg, Tyson and Kent over ANB - and probably rather the Pedo Bear in front of Oscar!!
