  1. Out: Hannan, Pickett, Tomlinson In: ANB, Lockart, Hunt
  2. yeah a bit wierd, but his form has been below average. Goody stuck Brayshaw out on the wing at the start of last year when Gus was unaccountable in the midfield & he's managed to fight his way back into career best form......I'm sure Harmes will do the same. He just signed a four year contract didn't he??
  3. yes agree.....58% efficiency & 9 turnovers for Viney.....kills us!
  4. Past & current: Tulip & Jimmy Because they are the 2 best Dees ever in my eyes.
  5. He's been playing Hannan for 3 years so yes I agree with you LN that he does play favourites. Good decision in my book.....Vandenberg applies pressure, has a physical presence & lays plenty of tackles.
  6. The dees have always had outside run or wingers, but no use having them if our ruckman & inside mids aren't instructed to use them. Most other teams on ballers, you can see clearly, that they 'feed' the ball out to their runners. Sounds simple enough but we don't do it. This is not our problem.
  7. Everyone keeps saying 'we are incredibly talented'....really! I don't see it & how do you measure talent! High draft picks, number of games or the amount of stats the players get each week? Maybe we are not as talented as we think..... Two things astound me..... 1/Why is it that most other clubs can win possession at the stoppage/centre bounce etc & distribute the ball out to the runners who then penetrate the line & impact forward entries? We panic & kick blindly creating on most occasions, turnovers. We have 2 or 3 players that absolutely kill us every week & nothing has changed recently. 2/ Why is Max Gawn kicking? His work around the ground is sensational, no question of that, but for god sake, don't kick especially in defence. Why are we not instructed to have runners like Salem, Hibbard, Petracca, Harmes, Jones or Langdon running past for the hand ball to run & transport the ball 100m. All other clubs ruckmen do this especially Nic Nat & Grundy & even when Grundy does kick, most of the time its safe & short. We need Max tapping the ball to our advantage & taking intercept marks. The dees need elite ball users not good ball users & that's what we have...'B' grade users. We also need a power forward to take us up the ladder & at this stage I can't see any improvement unless something changes dramatically..... Goodwin has to go.....forget about plan B, there is no plan A.
  8. Viney 19 possessions, 47% efficiency & 8 turnovers...... yeah he stays.....good call
  9. Goodloss won't drop Brayshaw Pickett, not in my opinion anyway. The reason Gus has been playing on the wings is his lack of accountability, so I can't see why Goodloss doesn't inject Harmes into the guts as he has a history of being a good 'stopper'.....
  10. Out: Jetts (2 disposals & 0 tackles) & Hannan 4 disposals (3 turnovers) Pickett on thin ice In: Rivers & T. Mac
  11. A 'Nuffie' stat..... Righto thanks for clearing that up Lord Nev, or should I say 'expert' Nev ? Either way mate, if we are serious about winning games & putting our best side on the park every week, at the moment, unfortunately Jonesy's not in it.
  12. For those of you who like stats Jones 2019 stats are as follows: 71% efficiency, 20.5 disposals per game, average 4 turnovers per game, 2.4 tackles per game, 6.7 contested poss per game, 2.1 clearances per game. Other disposal efficiency averages for 2019 were: Lewis 78%, Stretch 77%, Lever 73%, Salem 73%, Viney 71%, Hunt 70%, Petracca 69%,
  13. Contrary to most suggestions, I think time is up for Jones & we have to continue to promote others. The writing has been on the wall for a couple of years now as his efficiency has deteriorated & at the end of 2019 he looked liked he was playing for his own survival. Love to see him get to 300 games but no one player is bigger that the future of a club & if we are hedging our bets on Jones getting up for next year, then we have some bigger problems to deal with IMO. Thanks Chunk....
  14. Toby Bedford isn't even in the 'Hub', so he probably can't play......astounding considering he played round 1.
  15. I agree to some extent LT....... Tomlinson hasn't been setting the world on fire, but he's not the lone ranger, but I would take a Vanders any day of the week ahead of him.....& the reality also is that apart from Max, we aren't blessed with superstars so I would take a battering ram ahead of players that think they are superstars. You say Vanders is a liability? We will have to agree to disagree on this one, but at least he has a go! I agree with your comment about culture, however, if you want to build a strong culture, you need to have a strong foundation & a respected coach who has a proven track record. That seems like a very long way away.
  16. IMO, he's a much better footballer & impacts the game more than both of these guys put together. (when fully fit) Rivers will be good in the long term.......My previous posts re Tomlinson will show that this is no surprise.
  17. This footy club has deteriorated dramatically since PJ & Roos left & in my opinion, any coach would have taken our boys to the finals after the development, determination & confidence that Roosey impacted on the club in his 3 year tenure. To see us again as the laughing stock of the AFL is so sad & I agree that it's not Perts fault. The buck stops with the coach for on field W's or L's. He is responsible for implementing a game plan, selection of players, training loads & is expected to make the appropriate changes to his team when things go south.....I know this has been said many times before but that's when you know whether a coach is worth his coin.....Can he think/react on his feet? Bartlett & Mahoney had the responsibility of extending Goodwins contract & I am sure are under the microscope because of this. Our list, on paper, looks solid however, our performances thus far do not reflect this......I'm prepared to give them another 6 weeks, however, if we don't improve in the next month or two, then wholesale changes need to be made......its the only cause of action, in my opinion, even given the different environment we are in. Is Richardson the answer? Not sure......
  18. James McDonald could actually hit targets & use the ball effectively. Especially since the 666 was introduced, our mids including JV have been exposed. Love his endeavor for most of the time, however, his disposal has proven to be one of the worst & least effective in the AFL. I agree that he should be a tagger where for the team, he can have the most impact.
  19. Out: Hunt, Smith, Lever, Pickett & Goodwin In: Weid, Brown, ANB, O'Mac & Roos
  20. defensive game...... a bit like Brayshaws treatment last year.
  21. Agree PF..... what a joke......it's like a reality TV show. To also give Luke Jackson (& his family) the highs of his first game a couple of weeks ago & then omitted. He's got NFI
  22. My team this week: B: Hibbard May Salem HB: Harmes Lever Rivers C : Langdon Oliver Tomlinson HF: Melk Tmac AVB FF: ANB Fritz Hunt FOL: Gawn Viney CP inter: Bennell, Jetta, Gus & Pickett E: Smith, Jackson, Jones & Hannan
