You have conveniently forgotten the wonderful games Christian has played and been significant in the success of our team. Our 2021 Premiership was set up by Salo’s magnificent first quarter and indeed his whole game. That’s what makes a star on the biggest stage and shows too many people focus on the negatives of players rather than the positives. In very rare circumstances the player sometimes requests a trade and the Club may benefit however to openly move a highly skilled and valued match winner plus great Clubman does not send a great message to other players wanting to join your Club. Christian is often tied up with helping nurture and develop one of our up and coming stars on the side in his own time with no recognition generally until that player makes our team or wins a Rising Star nomination. Lets saviour the great and good games Salo gives us as much as his high quality Club sprit and contributions he makes overall instead of narrowing in on his unfortunate injuries and style of play in setting up team plays where many in the game waste their talent with erratic disposal.

Agree any fan could see we were cooked from go to 3/4 time. Brisbane they often do slowed down and again paid the notice. The only thing I was upset about was that Goody really didn’t change things halfway through the second quarter. If he had rung some moves you never know after last years come from behind win and last quarter recovery in the lights off match. There is no doubt the Lions don’t always play a game out and are gettable if challenged further out than the last quarter. Keep that in the memory bank Dees.
-
All of them I presume. Not every day but maybe once per week. Cats at least twice per week probably. Please don’t go and say it’s part of the reason for a loss. That’s why most teams try and get their training ground the same dimensions. Now that is maybe a disadvantage.
-
Most IMO centred around our drained presence due to the Adelaide games. 4 games in 19 days and 3 in 13 did affect the result although the Lions did play well and we were unlucky they hit form last week vs North.

Hood means Goody sorry.

Didn’t worry us last year with Clarry out. Why didn’t the Coaches change the mids positioning and also personnel ie Rivers say in 2nd quarter. Even say changing Harry with Tmac to get him into the game. Hood too often makes changes to positions etc after the result is almost or a foregone conclusion. Needs to act in the 2nd quarter not 4th.

Well said Some D/Lers have AGAIN ignored the reality of the opportunity around the AIA when we had no cash. Zilch you idio.. Stop trying to make out an unrealistic opportunity that never existed.
-
How rude you are to question Clarry after 150 good games and he was not at or near his best (like about 5/6 others). Players are human and to see him do all that work and you openly ( or sarcastically) ask about a trade? please don’t contribute if you dishonour a champion so horrendously because you are in a shi..y mood. And the forwards were poor but again not necessarily as disinterested as you assert.

That’s not the point You were able to gain admission solely with your membership card still used as a replacement entry to the game. The fact that no reserved seating was available didn’t restrict you from attending that game. It was a replacement game and your membership gave you an opportunity which you appear to have chosen to miss. Perhaps the fact that you couldn’t sit in your cosy reserved seat you turn your nose and say no I am not going to go sit in a GA area with some Hawks and Demon plebs. How very fair weather can you get over a one game opportunity to see your beloved team. There was about 25,000 ga seats you could have had any one. Please don’t try to defend yourself on the ridiculous technicality, your answer is totally wrong and you have exposed yourself completely openly.

What makes you think we are not a cashed up big Bic Club at the end of 2024. ? Enough to hold Caleb for his first 5/6 years.
-
How do you know how Adams will develop this and next year? No club will pay $1.4 mill each year for a Full Back either.

There is no disunity NOW within the Lions playing group. Whatever occurred is not the real reason for their disappointing form. Only ONE player has had anywhere near his last years form of the list of 2023. They like us have had to be mature and both groups are in total unison now. Dev Robertson had a chance to move back to Perth after 2023 and turned his back. He would not be in our first five mid players to look at recruiting go next year. I watch the Lions each fortnight if not going to the G for the Dees. Very good group of players just lacking a little toughness really. Pity they didn’t beat the Pies last year.

He will make a wonderful father just like all the Dads in our team are. We are very lucky to have such a mix of relative age and youth in our team.

If you can’t see some undisciplined play by Kossie then you have no reason asking others whether Kossie is. Any reasonable supporter can see now that his tackling is a major problem, 3 times in 30 games spells that out clearly. Your statement that we are not able to judge that because we don’t know if he has actually breached team rules because we aren’t sure if his actions are against rules as outlined by Goody. Snd he has surely shown with his continuous unrealistic MOTY or MOTC absolutely unsuccessful attempts an undoubted disregard of any team or football rules . The mantra of discipline is would it be ok for all of our small players to engage in the same practices. No surely not. They are towing the line crumbing usually and providing good service to the team. Let me say that Kossie is able to generally have a very small licence to thrill and Thsts what makes him a 40 goals plus player. He is one of our best players BUT if he cuts out the above mentioned consistent faults he will elevate himself to an A grader and undoubted consistent match winner for us. His gsm in the Semi vs Carlton is a classic example of this. Kicked goals as the cameo FF but got penalised as he spoilt his work with wrongful acts and let the team down. One could go so far as to say he lost us the game.in his fifth year of footy it’s about time he and the coaches had a very serious talk about what an AFL player is expected to do.

Wrong. Hawks game was a replacement home game so we have had two so far.

Not even close to the main point. Waste of a post really and irrelevant to boot.

How many others are on our list that don’t have the drive. Please name names?

Why oh why do D/ers not understand that at this stage no proposal is completed to be refused overlooked or written off. our Caulfield project is far from finalised so a specific authorised application has not been refused. The stakeholders are not ready yet but it is gaining momentum and priority. Some D/Lers post negative comments about our Club when we don’t hold the strings this stage. Another virtually says we don’t fill out forms of application for funding and other Clubs are great at it. Well that's because the Cats for example have a ground and it is easy to make a specific grandstand application for funding. By six time over they are good. No plan including our training facility is near finalisation so hold the horses till it is. Or let’s get into our Club and make them the whipping boys again. Oh and the post about the Lexus Centre location not being chosen was and it is well known a walk up case of no money to put in. Joe G had just saved us from merging/ possible extinction but still it’s used again incorrectly as an opportunity missed with no mention of the fact that the funds were not available at the time in our finances. It’s all about timing and one must have some cash to spend on such a development I repeat. This may be the final option for inner city land suitable and it’s no good spoiling the facility after this length of time due to overdue haste.

Name more than a handful Roost it ( that’s plus 5) please that were “passengers “ vs Port. To help some who were not great contributors Jibba Kossie JVR was ok and did the ruck admittedly ok but no goals, Salo quiet for himself. Woe good in about 20 mins cameo. All our defenders did their job Forwards and on ballers did valuable roles IMO. Who else RIF ?

No

LITB You have hit the answer right there if you leave Petty at FF. Why move him for Tmac or Tommo or Schache. He will kick goals very soon as he is too good a player not too. Only move him back for any cameos or if either May or lever are missed greatly. Also Disco is available next round for Casey return. If it ain’t broke don’t try and fix it.
-
Salo has class and is underrated by the opposition. Even the great Clarry is perpetually underestimated by opposition supporters. We have many at the moment who are becoming really more resilient and reliable from week to week.
-
Let’s not hide the fact that once Reid was gone our target was Windsor. Yes it was “needs” based but he was and is now showing every inch a No 7 pick in any AFL draft. His upside is huge and another great first round JT pick. Go the Duke.

Too late it’s the goal of the year this week Caleb is in. Vote for the Duke.
