2024 Phantom Drafts
That sideways kicking can be player motivated which is best but it can also be drained out by a game plan. it’s all part of the Hawthorn plan and Swans are not bad at it also. I want aggressive players and Tauru and Langford might well fit the bill if available. Would not be upset if Armstrong and say Smith or Smillie or Lindsay saluted our needs on availability if choice demands.

But you asked proof all along and all I did was give you the info to follow up. This in this case is prime evidence from the horses mouth ( albeit a summary of the events from his perspective). That you obviously seem to ignore this information is mind blowing. Yes it’s different from parts of what happened but let’s be honest a friendly meeting of some players on a farm ( without the Club dynamo Mackie I believe) is about as social as Geelong could provide. At least they didn’t tour the first 30 kms of the Great Ocean Rd and show him a potential property!! Let’s all accept that Clarry is now in his most certain phase and has parked as experience his Geelong adventure for now. As a Club we need to move heaven and earth to ensure that our results are as good as possible ( Finals and deep into even a Flag) are attained. One year is not going to alter the money equation drastically. Important to note that Harry Petty was going to leave for Adelaide this time of the year and excited a Club extension after all. Let’s look at all the resignings this year. While our results and some mistakes both Board and football have been made we have succeeded in retaining only ANB hs left for genuine reasons. Grest credit for the list to stop And think about our 2022 to 2024 follow up and while injuries have played significantly other things like game plan, selection and mind set on not to lose rather than to win ( complete opposite of Lions philosophy) it is changeable thank goodness as is the players inner most thoughts towards 2025.

2024 Phantom Drafts
Not sure what you have done by publishing your pecking order from our selection no 5 Dee. What’s happened to from Pick 1 -5. You have missed out on 2 spots at least by mentioning Langford and OSullivan. FWIW No one is sure who Richmond and North will take at 1 and 2. It is considered good mail that at 3 Blues will take SamWalsh’s cousin Finn O’Sullivan at 3 and Adelaide their local boy Sam Draper. We then have pick No 5 so one of Langford/Lalor/ Tauru/ Armstrong could be available depending upon North and Tigers at the top of the draft. JT has to make a decision and I hope he takes Tauru or Armstrong if available at 5 and one of the mids like Reid/Lindsay/Smith/ Smillie at 9 after the Tigers have 6 and Saints 7 and 8. Tauru has the highest draft improvement from all players seems to be the info.

The Alix 'Flying Viking' Tauru thread
Absolutely Hardtack I hope we can get Tauru at pick5 as he is total X factor and had unlimited potential. Great mark and could be a possibility on the ball with his mobility. Way to go. As you have said there will still be a good/ great mid at pick 9 for us such is the depth of this draft. I hope JT is all over this and follows up with Tauru at 5 and the best suited mid for us at 9.

No but if you care to go back to Page1 of this new Oliver topic you can read a report on the interview. Also if you go to the copy of Herald Sun ( Also in the Melbourne other paper The Age) you can read articles of the interview. Also pictures of Clarry at the races. Because you don’t make any attempt to follow up information or posts it doesn’t mean that stories are made up. Especially if you don’t believe the information as it may not coincide with your opinion.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
Sam Mitchell did not run fast and that districts home. Its always the same on D/L some one comes up with a very good player who has6/7 good points and says he’s slow and that is immediately transferred to all and sundry we shouldn’t take him. Langford has also had the same “fault” lack of pace is a worry despite he is a big strong build licks well gets the ball and also kicks goals Someone else is small, Armstrong is not tough enough Very rarely do 18 yo’s have all skills completely so let’s not nitpick about all of them and embrace whoever we pick. This draft looks extraordinary and with picks 5 and 9 two very good young footballers will join us. I hope Tauru is one for our talls and X factor plus a good mid preferably who kicks goals and can provide outside run and good disposal. Ie different to other mids we have already.

AFLW: Rd 08 vs Richmond
It’s 1-4 actually and off a 10 goals mauling to boot. Similar to a AFL Lions run in 2001 as after a 10 goal thrashing at Ikon Park to the Blues (when they were good) they won about 14/15 straight to claim the first of their three peat flags. Hopefully we can emulate that feat however it is great to see the familiar feistiness, team first ethic and the rapid fire improvement in many of the newbies and plenty of growth in a lot of the old favourites.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Sorry was talking about The Duke That’s why I included a potential centreline. Shouldn’t have switched players in a topic, but I understand Sharp could well be a high half forward ostensibly replacing ANB. Who will play on the other wing then?

Clayton Oliver
Thanks Kozzy did not see that.

Clayton Oliver
That was Trac not Clarry. CP5 is in Austria now at the Red Bull camp.

Clayton Oliver
When did they stop it? It was done and we have moved on except you McClure and Barrett. Clarry had also please read his comments below from the interview with HSun at Caulfield races yesterday. They don’t call you CF for nothing!
-
Clayton Oliver
Can I suggest you read the Herald Sun today for your proof. Looks like it will be a feature in today’s Hun.

Clayton Oliver
It would have been an interview at Caulfield Cup races yesterday. Why don’t you ring him up and ask him to repeat just for you? For all the doubters he tried last year but fitness decided his finish after the bye. Once he is at footy he is his most determined thing in his life. I also predict CP 5 will be back to his best. He has the added incentive to display his brand at his best. That’s one of the reasons I believe the season this year was a bit like 2020 and it would not surprise me that 2025 mirrors 2021 in some way. There is a lot we can do a little better or even a lot better so don’t be surprised we improve as a team to prove some of the critics wrong.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Not his last 5 years from the Flag on.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
He is a centre man star in the waiting think Swan Warner! Langdon Windsor Sharp Speed Speed. Speed and connectivity to forward line.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Caleb best in the centre to have forward impact at its highest point. Will be a revelation in this role and 20 goals could be the reward also.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Not easily satisfied. Looks fast enough for you I hope.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
Agree with you that Windsor should be in the centre. A natural progression of a superstar in the making. Will rival one of the stars in the Swans trio. His career will possibly as as already been lauded or alluded close to the late great Robbie Flower. The difference will be we still have our A graders and champs potentially to enjoy as well if they are back to their best. I am backing them to be as good as ever and for us to improve with our youngsters on the improve. Bring on 2025 let’s show the doubters Dees.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
Here here Tauru absolute match winner to add to our mid or forward line. Will be as valuable yo us over the next decade as Shai Bolton or even better. Provides X factor to the max. We have a good mix of players on the ball and also up forward and he will provide the difference as any one of our players can be influential in the mix now if we get him. Will be great anywhere on ball cameos and dynamite up forward. Absolute match winner. Grab him first pick if still available and if not Langford I think.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
Yes yes yes still a good one at 9 for our midfield.

The Brandon Parfitt Thread
Still need mid field depth refer this season with Trac out and Clarry injured and fitness issue as year evolved. Need Rivers Kossie Kolt and the duke at centre not wing to raise the pace and aggression level of our mids

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Great post only way to go to destroy the likes of Barrett Marclure and Cornes some of the time.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
That will kill this Club. It is so selfish it’s why’s best for the Club to profit and bring the best footy for its supporters and if we keep laying the bland contest and defence without attack we will perish and fall on our own sword. Let’s read the tea leaves and see the recent premier who dared to lose before the final crowning justifiably rewarded them. The Strategic plan still lives 50,000 ave MCG crowd and 75,000 plus membership. And financial growth through sponsorship and corporate excellence.

Sam Weideman has been delisted
You w we outed “he was never going to be” I am simply stating that he was a better footballer than Dean Kent who as you may well know dislikes him as a footballer and you have unfortunately chosen him as your poster name, as homage I can only presume but really it is a reminder of our poorer times and that have kept him on our list far too long he as injury prone and iMO a poor plate all round. Justafiably he also failed at the Saints which I gleefully remind you of. Yes Sam was an an enigma and did have ability but inwardly he seemed restricted in his confidence and self belief which prevented him playing with any physical sense. Cale Morton and the late Colin Sylvia were also underperforming Dees with talent who we had great hopes for. Simolt my point is that Weid Cale and Colin all had a great level of ability. Your namesake did not possess such skills and clogged up our list far too long
