That's not the current opinion of AFL people at the moment! Kelly is one of the best disposers in the AFL ! Christian is playing career best footy at the moment as a result of extra work and commitment during the last 2 pre-seasons. Deserves any luck after injury cruelled his first 2/3 seasons. Csn be even better off the wing in a premiership team!!

POST MATCH DISCUSSION: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT 01

That's contrary to his pre season so far which has been great Sunday didn't ruin that. He still might make Round 1 as we need pace from half back urgently. -
Reckon he was saying Jack could be better than Todd not Clarry! only my take on the comment and the jury is still out but Jack has to be available consistently!

Jakey will be the best thing to dash through the snow if he makes a successful comeback and we go on to great deeds! Bwtter than Father Chris! Huge kudos to the Club who again and again are leaving no stone unturned in trying to improve our players and provide a base for success. Just a thought how would Rance and Astbury react if Pruess (or Gawn) were added to the forward marking group after seeing our efforts (Tommy not at best) on Sunday. Reckon that might alter the weight and height scale. JLT matches are like horse trials don't trust them generally as each Club has there own agenda! Lets see how that pans out on the early rounds as fitness and firm kick in.

Sorry I believe Spargs disposal is pretty good and agree with your comment in principle. -
Won't play in Round 1 Didn't shine or getvenough gamectime yesterday. Back through Casey and form of Spargo etc. and his form and teams will decide how quick an opportunity arises.

Basically what you are purchasing is a reserved seat in an area of the ground which will be decided by the price of the area You want to sit(or are permitted by choice). I imagine you would pay about $20 or maybe $25 fir the dearer choice for the reserved seat. Follow the Clubs advice re seat reservations and good luck as it is a fantastic occasion to witness and despite today's result think it will be a game we can still win. Go Dees

We are in good hands for leaders with the official Leadership Group plus Tom Mac Stephen May Jake Lever plus Hibbo Melkshake who all ooze knowledge and leadership and act as leaders also. Happy for Lewy to grace AFL for this year even if he misses occasionally the AFL and to keep Slobbo in check!!

Is only 19 yrs has excellent skills is a consummate team player and uses the ball beautifully plays within his limitations and can/will only get better. Yes kicking can lack depthsometimes but I reckon Jesse's did also on a consistent basis and that never stopped us picking him. Reckon Spargs position in the team is his to lose at this stage. Good luck to Jeffy JKH and other prospective small forwards! Hope you all put your claim in to ensure our team is as good as possible.

Saw post today that Jake comes home Sunday. all went very well inUSA with Bill Knowles. Aiming to be back in full training group in a month. Round 8 is looking like return to Competitive play most likely VFL then AFL. Good Luck Jake can't wait till you return.

With a little more luck and more continued excellence on the field fromTom and all the others they could really have the thrill of a premiership medallion around their neck.

Great interview on Max life and views on footy business and other time and the Club and his partnership with Pruessy! very cool and can see why he relates to staff players supporters and media, Msy not Captain Dees in his career but would be able to do the role justice as long as he reduced his off field interests. PS he has opened up food truck bring run by his younger brother selling jaffles! And says next week he's opening a wine bar. Definitely shoring up his after footy career and I think he is a natural for the media time permitting.

Gerard Healy prob first picked after Barass and Wells Alves Tingay And Wiz.

BBP Bailey didn't look physicslly shot in the VFL Grand Final as he was clearly our best . It was a tall for a tall (well medium Tall for us Joel). This is also an interesting side issue of playing Pruess and Gawnie plus Weid and Tommy. The dilemma other sides may face if our selection and all players succeed and we win the majority of games. IOW it forces them to respond to our height! OR NOT and face any consequences! Time will tell and Bayley should play wing or forward with his skills.

DV8 I understand your comments but am with DazzleDavey 36 in the Trac has 8/10 years ahead All with the Dees hopefully. To think Dave Mission has moulded his body shape deliberately is not correct. Trac has a NRL body shape and right now it is as good as it's been in 4 years. His upper body and waist are a good sportsman's fisuique and below his waist sturdy hips and great body strength which enables him to play elitely in heavy traffic. His marking for his size is strong (confidence is his main issue in marking and kicking). In 2018 he kicked about 20 goals from 50 shots approx. I dont think we would be having this debate if he had kicked 30.20 instead! Notjing but upside yes he can and will play better kick more goals and confidence will return. And this will be on the ball or up forward no matter what % it is. Heaven help us if he breaks out this year as his ability to do so is there in abundance as long as his stars align and his mind is at ease. -
Riewoldt rates Hogan as better forward than TMac
58er replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Both would have/will be/are Demon greats and Jesse would have given longevity and health ( not his forte so far) challenged Neiters goal record. But Jesse's mind was not always his greatest asset and let's remember his record vs top and bottom sides. No doubt all his warts so far are completely changeable and I hope he does so (not against the Dees) do imptovement is a given I would think even though he won't get all the opportunities at Freo straight away from a sub standard on ball division in a developing team. Big Tom is a far better forward than back man and I reckon he can play till he is 33/34 such is his fitness (big toe excluded) pace accuracy and team play plus his nous and extraordinary marking both high and chest and one on one plus pack marks. With our team he should be in the best 6/7 years of our current premiership window and benefit off some of the best Ball getters the Dees have produced viz Clarry Trac Vanders Jack V and Harmsey and hopefully Tom Sparrow and other classy forwards. Tom if he can play 20 out of say 25/26 games per year may not get near Neiter but he will hopefully have the accolade of multiple premiership player and at least a duel Coleman medallist to retire on. And I know on those big occasions Tom will be 100% on the job against the top sides. (5 vs Pies last QB) in a rout. Tommy Mac for me but good luck Jesse on being second! -
Good team Demons11 but I reckon Jonesy Mellkshake KK and Shannan won't make it through fitness allowing Lewis and Hore to play. Oscar to play over Frosty also as talls in Power forward line. Lewis to HB Oscar to CHB Fritsch to FF and bench is Hore Pruess Viney And Spargo. plenty of Rotations in all areas of side available.

No shame for our girls. BUT surely we must make a star (Kearney)accountable. Little fumbles and missed marks can be costly Umps lost the plot as Roos got Selwood type frees and almost imaginary 2 or 3 frees gifted within 20m from goal. Need a strong leader on field to give direction ie tactics late go down the guts with 2 mins to go.AND forwards go to far up field at times AND round the boundary needs to be quicker into centre at times. Need to win vs Giants and Bullies by a total 50/60 points and then beat Crows in last and % May get us in. Heartbreak hopefully not again as we can win on today's effort.

I agree I was dumbfounded when Melb let Stef go. I thought he was very slow learning as a ruck but always thought he could end up full back as he showed on Bradshaw and Brown in his first game vs Lions in 2008. He had the bulk and weight to play on giant forwards from opposition. I don't think we gave Steph enough time and prematurely gave up on him. Not sure but I don't think he was the one who initiated the move. Re Jolly my recollection is that Coach Neil Daniher kept selecting Jeff White as the only ruck and he virtually stamped his change to the Swans which IMO was a shocker of a decision. No attempt to give Jolly time andalso no one when Whitey retired and needed assistance as we now realise Maxie needs. I am of the view that Pruess will play more than half the games and Maxie will still be a star up forward and down back and on the ball. Pruess will earn his spot as he can mark kick run tackle and will improve his palming out to our mids. Remember he is so big the fear factor and chaos plus marking will have opposition defences along with our forward mix of talls and smalls plus pressure and no of entries on full time watch and effort to contain scores. Its all a but if a guess of course but either way I expect our forward line to be top class and take us far in the season in September. -

Sorry that you must not have a Fox or listen to Gary on SEN. I will assume you have a reasonable knowledge of our game and Melb's games last year. My opinion on Oscar on Hawkins an also a spare man in defence on the last quarter at the G by Our coaching staff cost us both games vs Cats. Little things but 2,wins an we are 2nd Home Final vs Eagles !! Gary is sharp and doesn't miss things. Suggest you listen to him and you should understand. Boyh the examples above are my take and I stand by them. Hipe we can both celebrate the Dees in 2019 snd get that flag. -

Surely this is good news that our second string inc. Billy JKH Corey W and others on display today are in sync with our game plan and can fit in at half forward, or the pocket or even play a small portion in the midfield. The challenge surly is for one or all of them to elevate their game (and importantly their skills under pressure) to grab the no. 20,21 or 22 spots in the team. Same for our defenders where the skill level IMO is greater where Hore (not yet) Hunty KK and Lewy plus Jonesy can go through defence and potentially star or play on a wing and hold their place but not displace Hibbo or Lord Nev as medium backs. This then elevates our depth with extreme pressure on all players to get in the AFL team. Even more so now with the rucks now that Pruessy has arrived. Mark my words he is no 5 game backup but a much more skilled and rounded contributor with the real side benefits being Maxie still No 1 but able to play in defence ( as per today) or up forward where Brayden did well today. This means that depending upon team balance at any given time Weids will get the 3rd defence tall after Max and Tommy. Yes it will live and die by form but remember all are IMO good marks and not useless in general play ( refer Sam in Finals). Also our crumbers will have to play their part and Spargo (big year and rarely wastes a disposal) ANB AVB Jeffy JKH Billy Corey W hopefully Fritschy (can play small or tall) etc come into their own with 20 plus goals or more for the season. In between is the gem of them all Jake Milkshake skilled Mark and ground player on both feet tough and a great mark for his size plus I hope a developing Sparrow and don't forget Trac who makes most possessions count in heavy traffic and if he gets confidence back his goal kicking to another level ie 35 plus goals this year. The whole team is capable of going to another level by virtue of the skill and different assets of our choices at our disposal. Height Strength body and pressure will tell as well as speed and skill. Our mids providing they balance an in/out game and don't all chase the ball "IN" will take care of their territory. Also our key backs be they May Frosty Oscar (already acknowledged improvement on today's effort and still young Think Tommy's apprenticeship) Jake L will be rock solid if not spectacular at times. All glass half full I reckon no doubt hiccups will occur but try and keep this set of players quiet for a whole game and good luck to you. Lastly (and this prob won't happen) I would like to see some situation where Gary Lyon (forgive him for his coaching choices) is on tap for advice as he has by far the sharpest footy brain in the media box (think Warnie at cricket ) and this 1% would not allow Oscar to play on Hawkins for far too long at the Cattery and we win the game as Frosty or Maysie nullifies him. If we don't get a top4 spot and hopefully home finals I will be surprised and our form and availability will determine our fate in the big games in September. Oh and 40,00 fans on nonblockbuster games plus 80,000 or more in those clashes will no doubt help Make the G a fortress in for the nearly the next decade! -
Can't Im sorry but am in Melb fir a week. Girls can win and start to bear all rivals. GDees
