  1. I would have thought the usual end of season memories of some team efforts highlights and positives but when we have finished out of Finals tantilisingly close (for a third year in a row)there are more lessons to consider WHY and examine what is needed to take the next step to serious flag contender from a solid but really unspectacular team that lacks X factor pace and aggression and still forward power to convert opportunities. And please don't expect Daisy to solve any of those problems next year when she returns.
  2. My point which you seem not too get DV8 is that we have moved on from these soft efforts and therefore we don't keep bringing up about it. You seem to want to keep bringing it up to somehow believe it will ensure we don't go back. Forget the old past (as Roosy found was hard for some) but it's irrelevant completely from 2016 as we started our real development as a serious team.
  3. Sorry DV8 my point is why burden the current group with what happened when the pre 2016 were not good enough. Its not relevant to them that opposition sides relished playing the unprepared and beleaguered Demons and these are memories we want to put firmly behind us as each season goes by. Roosy found it hard early on to get the fear out of players of errors and the sins built up over nearly a dismal decade.
  4. Are we talking about the pre 2016 Dees or our present list? We must be careful to not keep comparing this group with the all too frequent failures of yesteryear. IE look forward not back!
  5. Thanks fir clarifying D11 the bland statement of injured misrepresents that Pruess May miss R1 but be ok for Casey practice or R2 fir AFL, ie not long term!
  6. About Decision No 500 of common sense and good policy from the FD and Club since 2014 sending a replacement when clearly miles in legs and competitive training the order of the day. Thats why on the very rare occasion we think the Club may get it wrong we can easily live with it with this record of competence. PS 499 was challenging for Stevie May, at Tribunal but not perhaps the best effort legally I've ever seen. PS Maxie as always looks the part but he looks shorter than Witts!!
  7. Rookie List possible Depending upon how last half of year goes. Hope he can get through as I really feel he has improved since mid-season 2018. Deserves a break of luck.
  8. Priceless!!
  9. Listened to all interviews Pert was again clear and visioned for the future on the admin training social complex. He realises his role in that he has been chosen to lead and deliver as his mission for the Club and he has a great sense of our history and what a legacy it will leave us. Yarra Park now looks way off but dont rule it out but whatever and whenever in the next half decade in our immediate window of opportunity I have no doubt we will be able to charge our glasses in a social location of our own. Is it any wonder his Experience with the Pies leads him to state that the Facility will be achieved, along by that time 70,000 members will also. He can't absolutely guarantee delivery of that long awaited 13th flag and that will be The real legacy of Jackson Roos and Goodwin. Its obvious he was the perfect CEO for us and despite the mischief and some blame that the Woods created about him he had run his race there. We also are now moving in to an era that we have committed concerned and extra passionate old and new fans ready for the spoils hopefully achieved that since 2014 have most meticulously been planned.
  10. More likely from Texas or where Cox came from!
  11. Place in the Rookie list fir 2020 unless he stars in late 2019.
  12. Christian as usual is trying to muscle his way into 2019. Must appeal on the medium impact ruling. I f Mummy can get off then so can Maysie.
  13. Maybe go to VFL website or NEAFLE or Casey Demons websites .
  14. My reply is in the Round 6 Melb vs Bulldogs thread DV8. Sorry for that placement.
  15. Sorry DV8 but I am getting the impression that you need a private secretary to update your calendar of viewing. I have Fox snd of course no such problems exist, but I live in Brisbane and Mate is the Bible on Footy for 7. Plus recording is also part of my viewing if I can't see live. I do frequent the Lions games as a Gabba Trust member when not in Melb where I can use recipricol rights to enjoy the Dees in main games at the G. (Sorry that means I have access to the players and see them run out and say goodbye after wins!) It is going to be harder than ever to get players to acknowledge our fans and importantly the kids if the crowds on the Northern side increase as our membership rises. Peter Jackson has trumpeted that the whole Northern side of the ground should be full of Demons fans (40,000 plus) to give us an edge at the G. I do have a MFC Members ticket with GFG which a friend uses and actually stands up in the outer over near you and claim my rights for finals tickets etc. Good luck in your aims I would love to see the Dees also take over the Outer!
  16. Thanks Saty good to hear your comment. As they say "It will be all right on the night!!" Hasn't changed my optisim for a stellar season and can't wait to see the Dees at the Cattery for a good old fashioned contest in a developing rivalry all of which helps build a smaller Club into a potential major player in the future.
  17. DV8 It's on the AFLW part of the AFL website. Two of the Sat games one twilight or arvo and the other the night game have bee on all season on Ch 7 but lately off 7 to mate or other station. Club also give details in the mid week prior to the next round should be there also. On Free to Air next Sat vs Crows.BTW.
  18. My understanding is that Goody gave up on that plan for the extra two behind the ball about half way into last year. Cant believe players can be so inflexible !(or selfish) If they aren't mentally right about this then let them learn at Casey. BTW what did they do before Goody invented this move? Start on the forward line obviously. Please if this is one of our real worries we have got problems. Send them on a Camp to get their heads in the right place!!! Players don't dictate rules or positions in the game and definitely not in this Demons era of success.
  19. Lots of players go at least to the Army area maybe write to the Club and ask them to come over. With more members some will be in the "Outer" so a gentle reminder would be suitable. Good luck!
  20. Agree to think Hore will take Lewy's spot is fanciful.
  21. Hannan is out injured till about the bye !!!
  22. It's your choice to sit In The Southern Stand the race for our players and change rooms have been on the Members and Northern Stand side.as long as I have been a Dees Supporter (1958) so the Mountain is not moving for Mohammed!!
  23. Carlton play at Geelong so what advantage do they get?0
  24. All good comments re our potential for Membership growth this season. 1. Dogs increase from 35,000 in 2015 to 47,000 in 2017 was based on the 2016 flag and Ballarat members coming on board (about 3/4,000) from my limited knowledge. We don't have a country boost but I believe a bigger supporter base potentially that cares and is crying out for success as each year passes and performance and success is more believable. 2. Those 90,000 plus fans in both finals were made up of a majority vs Hawks and a 75% mass of Red and Blue. Ie 67,500 est .Many in the Members (MCC) were I suspect either latent Dees fans using their ticket or visitors or guest tickets. Definite potential for new MFC Members (Dogs don't have that base) 3.There is no doubt the viral posts on social media since the 2017 disaster and subsequent Jack Watts media outrage are behind us and the good feel factor and vision is of a Club on the rise (4 years in a row) and football quality on our list sells HOPE and SUCCESS.Those 2 qualities are Huge motivation and therefore can be untapped results in the making. 4. I have enough faith in Gary Pert's goals and aims. Tempering reality with about a normal 10% increase will mean 50,000 in 2019. I sort of think we may get about 55,000 this year or more but perhaps not 60,000. The 70,000 will be a flag based increase or sensational continued performances of consistency over the next 2 seasons. 5. I remembering laughing at Ben Gales 3 -0-75 talk. It happened and has flourished. 5. Let's start by Gary's aims of 40,000 vs Power and I reckon 80,000 is well achievable for Round 3 vs Dons if both Clubs compete well in Rounds 1and 2.Plenty of presale tickets seem to have already commenced with 2/3 of the parts of the ground sold out. GA being one of the only 3/4 areas to be purchased. Good luck to us in 2019 many of us are living our dreams and hopes of decades of disappointment. 6. Don't miss it It's happening before our eyes and IS REAL
