Yes it could well be for 2020 more than 2019 but I like the changes . Cant see why Lever is not intercepting off half back but suppose he plays in between the lines. Worthwhile policy to try.

Look st the figures after our losses to Hawks Tigers last year people still sign on so 50,000 plus is not a pipe dream.
-
BB Perty did not say this year that 70,000 but maybe upwards of 50,000 and even 60,000 may be possible in 2019. It is a target for the future and every time people point out the 70,000 is not realistic it is not helpful. All Clubs need visionaries and Perty has much more experience than us, think that's also why we actually chose him as our CEO. Stynesy was 40,000 and we've last 2 years smashed that and I believe 55,000 is achievable if we win a no of games early in the season. I realise you only posted GIF (which I hate all of them) but let's be positive and support the Board their aims for the Club to achieve greatness and join the big Victorian Club cartel.

Remember we played without both in early rounds last season This us Mark 2 horror show with possibly more dire consequences long term! Hopefully Club gets it right for both Jack and Tom !

Exactly my point in posts on the team for Round 2. i had no doubt in 2017 that Jack then said I am playing and no one had the b...s to say NO. Result he got another foot injury which has impacted him until last season and only a super effort saw him fit for the Finals. But now it's other leg injuries and to play on in a prac match for fitness and nominate seriously fir Sat as fit does not look even remotely sensible. Medicos and Coaches don't ruin Jack he is tough but he can and will end his AFL career if we go soft and sentimental. He is our Capt to lose but I would like to see him later in the year and from 2020 And take our chances of a Flag or Finals in the meantime. Someonr will step up and assist it usually happens.

Surely WB it's easier to drop Vines as he is a co Captain only with Nathan still in team. sitting on the bench for a long period helps no one really and no conditioning on ground or form is gained and if it's injury the team is one down for extended period. Reckon it's a team thing snd we have had Jack missing over last 2 years esp. and win without him. Harmes should Have tagged Rockliff who was in top form dishing out to faster runners etc. Its What is best overall fir team and Goody etc. need to take the hard decision to get Jack back in full fitness and firing. This surely isn't going to be the hardest decision in 4 years if Goody stays the distance. Make it and move on or compromise will/may muddy waters now and in the future.0

Sorry fitness Gurus and Coach should make the tough decision It can be made if there is a will to do it !0

Agree with RJay - no real enthusiasm for Tom (Sparrow) when first goal kicked. Refer Saints with Parker Freo with Schulz. Team was flat definitely not up and about and when momentum shifted no one other than Salem really stood up (peghaps Melky). Players did look almost disinterested and not enjoying their day. It was laboured and many couldn't/didn't chase. Disturbingly not one player went and helped Maxy (Tommy where were you, anyone?) and no fight in the last quarter was disappointing. Maybe some were cooked but only 8 points. Where was all that love fir Goody gone between mid week on his well deserved extension and Saturday in the heat? No Leadership glaringly obvious and no score at all in 4th quarter as a result. Something with the players was not quite right ( other than form) they were not happ to be there and it may have been general fitness from operations but can't put my finger in it. Crowd (from TV in Qld) was not really in game also and with nearly 40,000 which was good considering the trains rain and heat made made for a lack lustre start to our season of hope and glory and Goody's extension. Definitely our brand ( PJ and Perty) not on show and definitely no "esprit des Corps" evident. Looking for a much better and much more competitive performance at Cattery which I am returning to for first time in nearly 30 years! Go Dees

Sorry Chook pleas don't include me or are you saying in the Club! Kenty was predominantly unfit injured and low possession player who looked spectacular in about 3 occasions during a match. Yesterday fir Saints a speccy goal but no other contributions of any substance. Tackled well once or twice occasionally and got caught on left foot because he can't kick right. Think he left at right time andgood luck to him at Saints for more money.

ANB's cameo was a typical insight. Running for a while when we were alive then took 2 marks and cruelled both shots either side of the goals, That is the reason he is not a long term proposition even though he allegedly tackles and maintains pressure. He is not an elite converter in big games but rather a finisher vs lower sides and his kicking has no particular style or consistent trajectory to guarantee accuracy. We May be forced due to injury to play ANB fir a while but the moment Jeffy or Chandler or Bedford show their hand and earn promotion let's see the in the team. That's of course if ANB doesn't prove me wrong

Read the posts below on our operations during the off season which was not the case at Pies Eagles Crows or Swans or Tigers ! Thats the story or large reason for the gassed condition plus heat did not help.
-
Horrible no height CP too small for CHF can play FF for periods though and you would not put Corey and Tom on flanks together on one line. KK not at back pocket and needs at least 2/3 games to toughen and match fitness. Pruess not necessary unless we can rest Maxy up forward or drift down back. Main players need to lift Captains and young stars plus Angus needs to concentrate on delivery he is wasteful.
-
Who ? not Pruess he was emergency !
-
Agree Clint Rain maybe a few but most with Transport leaving early necessary plus a 1000 welcome people as well I estimate. Really 45,000 would have been crowd so that is reassuring. Competitive effort or win at Cattery will see 70,000plus (transport again!) vs Dons.

Hunty for Tyson also makes 18 out of 22!
-
Hannan Lewis (if out) Vanders and Tyson our for the 3 debutants (Hore C.Wagner and TomS ) plus Hunty leaves I agree this team weaker than the Cats/Hawks Finals team. 18 out of 22 tomorrow! Prelim alter Joel Smith for Fritta (17 out of 22) in tomorrow! But it is still a better team than Round 1 in 2016 even allowing for the inexperience at AFL Level. BUT place May KK Lever and Vanders/Hannan/Lewis later in the season then that is as good as it gets if all fit and in form. ANB And Spargo would both need to be in better form than the JLT brand also.
-
The 3 debutants for Lewy Vanders and Hannan. Rarely have I seen debutants get a guernsey for so little form and style. But I remember Greg Wells debuted with No form at end of 1969 (I think) was nearly BOG and hardly ever missed another game so here's hoping Good Luck Tom Corey And Marty.
-
Sorry but all players will get their chance at Casey and it's a long season Maynard this time last year looked like it was certain but injury cruelled that and form since hasn't been the same.

Liam Jones only gets a fine. How stiff is Steven May?

But there are hits and hits !!! slight glancing blow with no impact and assessment of no damage or effect. AND ridiculous over the top grading ie medium vs low AND " the look " Which is so subjective and if added makes a good case about nothing really So you can manufacture a cadebif you want to and not if you don't !!! -
Agreed Vagg. Wonder if the Monday Dinner Crew will be there hopefully for Maxys sake yes.!
-
Dees fans no longer will be as picky esp as it is the first Round and see my post why.

Good question DL. I am thinking 40,000 looking at weather interest and membership sales so far and interest ie Maxy's 100th plus 2 new recruits which always add interest ( even allowing for rather normal backgrounds vs say Stephen May and his profile ability and persona. However now that this game has been promoted as The Welcome Game another 5/6,000 new fans should be added based on figures vs Saints in 2017 and 2018. In addition I just have a feel that the MCC quota given the Finals figures may rise higher than before so I'm plumping for 45,000 plus on a good sunny day with no rain. PS Power May add support with 500/1,000 fans but if it was the Crows I feel we'd be about 50,000. (Let's not get them scheduled in NT again fir a while). Here's hoping

Wondering if it's deep down self belief along with some confidence. I ronically Billy runs and kicks and that's about it. He is not special in close or with handball or changes direction of the footy much if at all. So he is purely a runner who kicks without looking to dispose properly. Think of his goal in the last quarter vs Hawks in 2016 and that's Billy. Straight line and kick fir goal! (nothing wrong with that but put him 20/30 metres back and the ball is usually in dispute after his disposal or cleared by an opponent. Also tackling is ok marking not great and really unfortunately not strong in body so AFL overwhelms him in my opinion whereas VFL suits with less physicality and more opportunities to run. Feel a little bad about this fir Billy as I believe he absolutely tris and maintains the highest standards and is the best role model in the Club. I really would love him to become a running outside winger a la Hunty! Go Billy the challenge is there. grab it!
