In an ideal world (theory) yes most options could be done but I estimate about 40/50% cannot kick on their non preferred foot reasonably and as for turning back into trouble as an outlet it is happening less and less especially in heavy traffic. Think of Melbourne as an example and we are not blessed with genuine players who are adequate. What I will say is I believe that Left footers are more likely to succeed without a reasonable right foot than their opposite numbers are with a left. Perhaps this Left foot surplus at the Dees does give some small advantage. Hawks always appeared to have it in those 2007/2016 years with their kicking game.

Excellent appointment and continues an off and pre-season full of hope and genuine promise that 2019 was the year we had to have to reset on top of our build of the previous Roos/Goody/Jackson era. I think the message is abundantly clear that all the errors and misfortune and frustration of 2019 is not going to define us as in crisis or a basket case nor will we go back to the 07/13 rabble. Bring On 2020 which seems to be evolving much better than most fans even thought possible. Of course Ws and Ls are the criteria but our preparation has started by all Board Coaches and FD most impressively.

Totally agree LG with you about winning and ability but the average AFL fan ( and many Demon fans) are yet to be convinced about our culture (and ability to handle expectation) plus the tough/ difficult issues and the chance being taken by our Club will in my opinion change for the better the landscape due to the "potential bad boy " existence putting us on notice internally and externally. My hope and expectation is that this will bring the maturity necessary at this stage of our development and blend with our undoubted talent to transform into wins. As you indicated LG that is ultimately the judge of an AFL team and many factors make this mix towards successful outcomes.

While I respect Goody's No D.......s policy I believe the push for trials for Harley and Murray potentially are exactly the self checking and discipline defining acts that might also assist our Club to grow from slight immaturity to much stronger organisation. This stance in effect could be the one if the reasons our football and attitudes have to stand up big time for us to become a real team to challenge in the toughest of environments AFL. it could go one way or the other but we will never know without giving it a go.! And the upside is that we need the skills both these talented players possess for our team to progress and prosper. Strap in for an exciting ride.

Will be interesting to see what effect ( hopefully improvement in competitiveness and ball contesting due to a stronger body) that Charlie brings to the table. One taking is sure is that if ha can get 20 possessions a game forward if Centre a bid spike in creativity and goal assists and goals will result. As usual a left foot kick will always be better looking (and therefore easier to see trajectory and flight ) so he can still work on disposal etc. as all our players should to improve. Sometimes he should be between wing and half forward which is a bonus on some forays out of the backline which are either slowly deliberate (necessary when we change gears in a game) or just poor disposals and panic handball to another defender and have turnover written all over the footy. Pace is our bugbear and movement also so let's let him loose and see if they can chase him down! A mini Frosty playing Muzza Ball sometimes but exciting also in our defence team.

Why waste him as Half forward or winger has on baller/goal kicker all over hi. Just what we need on those highlights breaks lines has speed and challenges defenders and opponents alike. Yes if there was a horse fir a course this guy stands out Hopefully No 8 he is still available

Making money out of Freo Suns Port Even zGiants is not happening then 35,000 plus is necessary for Saints Bullies, 40,/50,000 for Swans if they are back in town and the Blockbusters vs Pies Tigers and Blues need 60,000 to 80,000 for a large haul of funds. This is assuming we are in the mix for Finals, And no bad weather days! Thats an average of about 40,000 each game over 10 games. Seriously this approach while a "good idea at he time" is so flawed. You would think we were the Tigers with depth on every line! We saw in 2019 how we coped with injury to half the list and now want to voluntarily rotate young prospects that are clearly not AFL ready early in the season. Yes maybe rest Gawny in a pocket more but please don't fly the white flag each week before the game has begun.

Bennell looks a real chance Martin still can pick him if we have the balls and money fir 2 years I still rate Sam Gray Lachie Henderson snd Maybe Sam Murray as players who could play a role in 2020 (and beyond) if we take a chance Gray is a Corey Wagner type who is more advanced and kicks goals Henderson is an experienced and versatile KPF and KPD who on a one year contract would give great depth while not undermining Harry Petty's career development. Murray is a speedster who may be fast on a wing or on half back especially if injuries occur. Supporters don't realise that the more you raise the bar in depth means the more the young developing players have to go to forge their career. It's a win win. Last years draft youngsters need to be challenged for their position for the Seniors through improvement and training and therein also lies the creation of depth and culture which exists at Clubs like Cats Hawks Swans And now Tigers And we need to foster this from 2018 and before but went missing last year in the medical room and surgery recovery workout gyms and running tracks! Top10 draft picks 3 and 8 will raise the confidence enthusiasm and skill level for all at the Club in 2020 and well beyond. Changes of Coaching, Medical and Performance and Conditioning Experts plus a revised and tweaked game plan are also a sure fire way of improving output and results this season if all are on board and united which seems potentially probable at this stage early as it may be. Those comparisons with Jonesy after his decade plus loyalty and service are over the top. James will win a Bluey some time and be a part of more success than Nathan but in being a better player over his career that is another matter. His style is likely to appeal more but it's the result that counts and if Harmesy can emulate Nathan he will also become one of the modern Demon greats

Crowd numbers the same Friday night this game will rate high and any other game (unlikely) will be held after or befit not concurrently. Do sponsors pay after the ratings are decided? First I have heard of that Sponsorship deals TMK are agreed upon with the Clubs. Any deals with Fox or Seven if paid are to them not us Iwould presume snd no effects on MFC finances. if this is not correct please explain to the naive and ignorant like me please?

How will this affect the crowd at the Friday Eve Anzac game? Any other (if scheduled and I don't believe it will be) would be in WA or SA where previous Anzac games have been held. These days games are 95% attended by the Clubs supporters (MCC members 15/20% more no doubt) so no effect in any way. Our game is locked in and FTA TV also. We just need to win 2,3,4,or all of our opening 5 or win 2 in a row prior to get 70,000 plus or even more.
