Like all things OD it is easy once you know how !! It will be the same for this party function and 2022. Best to get family into gear to get for you if you don't understand technology !!

Really who gives a toss what some EX Demons think Most will be glad and many overjoyed and the odd one bearing a grudge may not have those feelings. Largely snd almost universally our Flag triumph has been wonderfully received by the Footy World and neutral fans very congratulatory. I received many good luck messages and also congrats from friends and acquaintances which I replied to and cherished. In Perth for the game the same attitude was both heartening and warm from Freo especially and Eagles fans who embraced the whole game and build up and hold over the City for about a fortnight. I also believe our balanced snd mature celebrations have resulted in a hugely respected response and also an admission given the result and the margin we thoroughly deserved our triumph as the undoubted best team in the AFL in 2021. Its also a very important factor to success and in developing our response for 2022 and beyond.

Under the circumstances while RDB or Neal would have been chosen ( I am certain Gary would have agreed with that also ) had we played at the MCG your remarks are not necessarily needed as total success was not the ultimate result of either of Ron's or Neals coaching stints ( despite their undoubted efforts and strengths and Club loyalty ). Garys involvement in Neelds coaching disaster was not great but the Club had plenty of other problems at that time that led to our 2012/13 wreckage. I vividly remember speaking with a rusted on Pies fan of my age ( early sixties) at the time and he endorsed Neeld as the major midfield strategist in their 2009/2012 success and 2010 flag. Neeld could always claim he walked into a train wreck which I think was started when we couldn't persuade or relate to Kevin Sheedy after ND 's departure. That I believe put us back a majority of a decade until Roosy played the saviour we now acknowledge someone with experience was needed.

Recruiting is a balance of needs and availability. The word " robbed" is not used correctly in this situation as a clear policy of our FD is to look at needs and availability snd utilise both in the development of our Clubs list. Clearly in 2018 our defence while adequate was not our greatest strength. Jake Lever had committed himself to our Club and unfortunately injury delayed his progress in developing into a key member of our defence. Then at the end of 2018 The club decided to part ways with Jesse Hogan and through trade negotiations recruited Steven May. Again form and fitness delayed his elevation to his elite status of 2020 snd 2021. Since the halfway through 2020 we have had the best defence in the AFL on figures and with the additional recruitment of Jayden Hunt in 2015 ( I think) Harry Petty in 2017, Trent Rivers in 2019 Jake Bowey in 2020 plus Joel Smith through the Draft and Michael Hibberd in 2016 from Essendon after their drug sage scandals. Previously Christian Salem in 2013 was a draftee but not played in defence until more recently under Simon Goodwin. So to claim JT was "robbed"about selecting defenders is nonsense as the above indicates a very balanced approach which was totally justified in our recent 2021 premiership triumph. The nature of attracting nearly ready made players or star recruits is that the buyer tends to have to pay "overs" for another Clubs time in developing the skills but you are the recipient of a key element in your team you will build around for quicker success. First Round draft picks have been used by our FD Recruiting Managers in the last 8/10 years both as utensils for star players in trade and also as elite choices to build a very strong balanced list that enabled our team to succeed ultimately justifying this balance beyond doubt as a smart and successful strategy in the second decade of the AFL competition in the 21st century. For as long as we are supporters we will always debate many issues of football and our Club but for any one to be so churlish to criticise after 57 years wait this IMO brilliantly conceived elite list we possess now which has a great chance of sustained success and returning the Dees to a former position of power not experienced for more that half a century. There is no "robbing" of anything in this strategy for success as we have decided to implement it totally ourselves and we excitedly await the spoils of this in the next few years.

Why are they getting the advantage and we are not ? I have forgotten the rationale about the NGA but Dsicos and Darcy are under Father/Son.
-
Are you mistaking Lincoln McCarthy for Cameron?? Christension was another but only relatively successful.

Amazing that 6 mths previously at Marvel our basically second string on ball brigade and defence looked like statues as the Dogs flicked the ball from one end to another in a dominant display that saw us never repeat that form at all during 2021. Only Bailey Smith and Adam Treloar are quick all the others are good runners but what I would call a bit one paced. Looking at us both Trac and Clarry are elite runners Jack V was so good with his hands Harmesy in bursts plus ANB is so smooth and cut them up on the outside ( HIs best ever game in impact and importance) plus no one minds each other and Sparrow didn't have huge no's but had huge impact (probably as much as Smith did with his greater run and possessions). They also had their fastest defender Johanissen parked up forward taking a specky on Bowsers shoulder contributing a lone goal . Even when we were challenged it was clever ball kicking and slowish ball movement that featured rather than their handball and pace. Once our on ballers and rucks got it all together we looked like a well oiled machine. Langers owned the last quarter on his wing with some of the best handball ( and his running) I thought he was Clarry! So it was a combination of all things pace fitness elite team play tactics and our supreme confidence and ability plus their minds ( and bodies ultimately) and maybe an irresistible force at the top of their game ( Remember our third quarter in the prelim really all day perhaps) and our blitz in the last quarter at the Cattery that ultimately delivered US the greatest advantage in CONFIDENCE and LADDER POSITION we were almost unbeatable from then on, despite one game in 28 days prior to the GF. Thank you Burgo thank you and our team stability of no changes hardly all year due to form and fitness enabled us to not only be Top on the ladder but top in performing best on the biggest stage of all, an AFL Finals series and moreover the last third of the biggest game of All. Our preparation was akin to a Bart Cummings horse on Melbourne Cup Day and we duly saluted by the Length of the Flemington Straight!! Let's Hope our stars align and we can do a Mackybe Diva!!.

Well Fraser Rosman is under pressure if we pick Rodney Howes!!! Also from Sandy Dragons!!!

Agree
-
May seem like that now but Dons will come and Blues after them. Both Clubs have had 22 and 27 year droughts for next season which is LONG for both Clubs. I agree about the 16 snd have my eyes on that but let's get 2 then 3 then the 4 however they come along.
-
Can't compare the timing his 2 you are referring to are near the end and are clear arm chops The swing of his body and holding after he missed the ball was legit but perhaps the one earlier that quarter ( 3rd) for holding was not BUT the umps have been paying SOFT holding and pushing and interfering frees all year so no different. The Hannan free late in the 3rd also was crap. Overall umpiring had little or no effect on the outcome. I was at the game and was ok with Umps.
-
Agree but it does in no way alter what I said re spots in the team. Any player not in the GF 23 will have to earn his spot via form or replace an injured teammate to get in the team. That's good for the team culture and development.

Tear jerking stuff Bendigo Dee. My 96 yo Dad missed out by 2 years and 3 months. I am sure he knows and is resting much more easily now knowing that at least I was able to go to the game in Perth and experience that ultimate feeling. You both will never forget Sat 25 Sept 2021 like many thousands of Dees fans. it would have been fairly late also for you to visit your Dad after the game that night about 10 pm or thereafter! Hope you can both with your son get to see the Cup on tour or at the G. I will see it at the G or here up in Brisbane or both!

That's what I am saying Wrecker that it's Toms or others SPOT TO LOSE but I feel Dunstan will ( still) get ( earn) a number of games in 2022. Injury or form are obviously the key factors in this opinion.
-
Dunstan says Hi! PS It's definitely Toms and others spots to lose but Dunny will get a good no of games no doubt to add another soldier to our Midfield troops. We sre not resting on our laurels on any way thank goodness and a draft to come as well!

I bow to your proof of age of the Bullies mid field brigade Jontee. Undoubtedly convincing. I didn't check the ages and thought some from 29 to 25 were a year or 2 younger. I didn't think the gap was as big but also when Jacko Vines Clarry and Trac turned on the power in the third it just blew the Dogs away even the Bont looked powerless to stem the tide. The depth and class of us vs them plus that vital years in age showed fir the last 1.5 quarters of the game. But it should not have been 16 to 1 goals! That's embarrassing and unacceptable no matter how good we were.
-
Although at the Stadium on the day it is amazing Watching it on TV now really awakens me to the completely separate halves of the 3rd quarter and how we couldn't generate any scoring opportunities ( but kept Doggies to 2 goals only) to suddenly flick a switch and presto 7 majors on the run pretty well sealed our drought breaking flag agony. That quarter along with the last quarter of the GF and Round 23 at the Cattery plus the Gawny Masterclass 3rd stanza in the Prelim are about the best 4 quarters of footy we have played in a patch for decades. Truly Premiership quality footy by the Undoubted best team in the comp in this season. All hail the magnificent awesome sensational Demons of 2021.

While not necessarily disagreeing with the fact that we struggled financially from say 1990's through to about 2015 The ability to come up with $15 mill. Almost on the spot would have ruled out about more than half at that time inc. Tigers Saints Roos Dogs Cats Blues and possibly Hawks depending upon the specific date it was required. We must not allow our current and stable off field position financially to be frittered away. A Power Club ranking awaits us if we are sensible and successful in the next 5/10 years on and off field.

Really does it matter what the time frame is? It's always as at the time the list is redrafted no matter the date. Yes Dogga is 1 Kossie 3 and Riv 7 now and thoroughly deserving. Ill be surprised if our 3 are not always in the top10 or very near especially if they keep racking up "premiership player" in the next half decade. Congrats to JT Tim Lamb and the team as usual their judgement is spot on.

That's great to hear and read. All fans should be able to find ONE opportunity to hold and be photographed with the Cup. Dec5 th will be the biggest but every other venue on the tour will be a great highlight for all our passionate and loyal fans.
-
You bet PS
-
This museum is not a State run one so may be a more slightly expensive visit. Thsts not over the top considering the style and type of history at the MCG. Especially if a photo of holding that Cup is involved.
-
And I'll bet Kossie has saved at least 10 more goals by his tackling than any other of those forwards maybe except for Cyril.
