SOrry Deemania I am commenting on Dee Spencer's post you commented on. That's not the point If you make the action you accept the consequences. Mentioning the Gaff/ Brayshaw incident is not the smartest comparison. The mantra is DONT THROW your arms or fist around loosely. The memory of the horrible pictures of Andrew Brayshaws jaw are about as graphic as this type of action gets. Any logic or sympathy for BBB goes out the window immediately in your inappropriate post memory.

I understand what you said but it's irrelevant in the context of the subject matter.

The big Clubs don't carry on like this You will always get a time slot that's inconvenient to someone. well if it's not whinging what is it? Agreement ??
-
Sorry if I offended You LH. But you can't have it both ways You ARE complaining about Night games and FTA and coming up with multiple reasons why we won't get crowds at those games!! School hols are for 2 weeks so let's suspend AFL games!! The Sat night is fine for a crowd in the middle of Easter as Sunday is not a school day. Did you want the game at 1.10pm Ssturday or ssy 3.20 pm Sunday? Why Will we get any more at those times in the middle of Easter ? ( or School Hols) Where is your proof that any more revenue for the Club will be raised at those times? What you should be complaining about is the Sunday May 8 Mother's Day 1.10 pm time slot!! Vs Saints. Any fixture at the G on Mothers Day is a crowd killer about 5.000 more down than usual. My point is that if you keep having unpopular opponent teams at early day weekend time Slots you will go back to low attendances and lose valuable corporate revenue at the same time. Wr should be used to mask wearing on public transport and why is the public car park at the G any more closed on Sat night than 18 hours later on Sunday? Sorry your argument does not stack up for the Club revenue as you wouldn't have any figures to prove it. It is merely your preference in time slots it appears.

FGS We must be the only Club that has supporters that winge and whine about prime spots for games. Get used to success and the spoils either in marketing exposure and fame. We dont want to go back to below 20,,000 daytime at the G which makes the G look like a disaster zone. That's why we come under ridicule fir low crowds. if the players are any where any time any whatever support them. Not having prime time night games is paramount to marketing death and we can't afford that in our push by the Club for its 4 year plan etc, and the benefits of growth that go with it.

Quality small forwards with pace and great disposal was identified by JT when we drafted Kossie and are added to his crumbing and goal kicking for the firward line and mids. Bowry has blossomed as a defender and now with Kossie Lsurie is our classy newcomer developing with Casey. Yes Bedford snd Chandler will need to grab a spot soon or miss out.

Don't mind Smirh forward but BBB looks anything but ageing !

Was limited due to Covid ! 20,000 I think

JVR plays more like tall if you watch him. He has a good degree of competitiveness in one on one and also a good mark if allowed a run at the ball. Also a good kick for goal. He has a fine future I believe as he can sldo play at full Back or CHB.
-
Agree
-
That may be true LRFE but the post was who had the most upside and we seem to be in agreement that Laurie is the most thought of fir the future. I am simply saying that playing mid and forward will give him a great chance to develop quicker. we don't know how he will snd at what speed. He has had very little footy in the 12 mths at the Club and running around on the ball will help him develop his skills at a greater pace. Chandler snd Bedford definitely also deserve our support as they are doing all they can to get in the AFL team and are not far off it.

Guys heres an idea Read the team changes COVID PROTOCOLS.

He didn't play AFL because of Timing and transport issues. We will never know if we played at the G what would have happened. But the fact that the games were 2 days apart was fine you play at Casey and have a run around take a few marks etc. BBB has got a good track record since midway last season ( Port game on in fact) and for any one saying he had to star and be almost BOG forward to play next week is ludicrous. Look at Weid coming in for BBB last week and not the 7 goal star in Mitch B. We all know about racehorses some have starts to get race ready and others have jump outs where they try but are often held back so just for the run ie fitness like BBB. So one of Weid and OR maybe Tmac will not be playing vs GWS. I want Weid to have a run for 5/6 weeks though. He was too good vs Bombers and BBB too good since 2021 run of games and esp. Ginals not to play. Defence interesting but Petty needs another hit out Smith might replace Hunt but did any backman play that bad he deserves to be dropped ? Or does Smithy deserve his place back in the 7 defenders on firm. OR does our team balance of talls snd smalls need special attention for GWS. FGS we had 16 shots (4/6 in Last 15 mins) against us and 36 points. It's not sheep stations at this stage. Firwsrd line more important forGoody and Co.

That's what we said of Bowser last year but was incorrect that he needed a full season at Casey. FWIW I think Laurie is the best chance of a long term career of the 3 and I don't Think your dismissal of him being MID forward is going to have any relevance at all. Actually it will give him more of a chance. That's like saying ANB NOW because he is a genuine on baller also he has less chance of being selected at half forward. It's in fact a real advantage. Bedford needs a real breakout succession of games with some goals attached plus good disposal. Chandler similar but has he enough tricks when you compare him to the others ie pace ? skill ? kicks both feet? Enough goals? Marking ? I Don't question Kade's or any of the three ( or the encumbants for that matter) determination or courage to be selected. Time will tell and injury might be the only chance in the short term for a regular chance to grab the spot! Agsin we have a couple or 3 or more chances of depth but I will be sad if we are without Kossie any time soon. But he needs to start hitting the scoreboard more regularly like last year to be the classy player we know and love.

Finished meant to be be diminished!

These sorts of records are not rare enough ie too common because we don't play some teams often enough for record to be an achievement. For instance we have never lost a Grand Final to Adelaide Brisbane Carlton Freo Geelong GWS Gold Coast North Port Saints Swans Eagles. Fact is we have never played them in a Granny! We have lost in a GF to Pies 1958 Bombers 2000 1946 Dogs 1954 Hawks 1988 and drew with Bombers in 1948 ( and won the replay) And your post that we have not lost to Carlton in Finals since 1962 is not really significant IMO as we have only played them in Finals THREE times ( 1988 1994 and 2000 ) since then, I think. These records are finished by lack of genuine competition versus many teams.

No one predicted that In HARMES WAY what happened in 2019 Did you? And what are you getting at ? RPFC

Brilliant What lane and suburb?

Not sure Weid should be discarded yet as this game had no forward vibes or stars at all. It took the most likely and skilful forward of all to get 3 goals so that how hard it was to generate scoring. Tmac did play more usefully than Weid but maybe he could be Med Sub and give Sam another chance to succeed. Down back it will be a slow burn getting our best 7 together with encumbants being favoured by the Goody selection process. All in all we have 30 plus players in our depth st this stage with about 3 out of action. It's still a work in progress!!
-
Not true really he sticks to generalisations with insight BUT not specific names and details where he could be in trouble. Occasionally a joke erupts and the whole group laugh at the expense of someone but in a humorous not critical way. He has developed into a very smart snd listenable media person and so has Nathan Jones. Add Daisy and we have some stars to listen to that add to our pleasure and achievements.
-
All 3 probably and a dose of Lingers positivity!!!
-
Looking at our raft of goal kickers these days notice Viney Clarry Jacko Harmesy and Lingers have developed significantly since 2021 at this time. With ANB Kossie Tmac and Spargs slightly down we are well serviced by many capable and versatile players who are all up for a 100% buy in to team ethos.

There was an awful ( overwhelming ) lot of D/L ers say 40% who failed in my opinion to respect Pertie and his record at the Pies. Let's be fair he was CEO there when 2010 Flag occurred. He was not responsible for the Salarygate which ruined some including Ned Guy and partly Eddie plus their Recruiting and Football Depts. and Buckley was shameful in that charade. Gary Seemed to overestimate the amount of Merch/ Memorabilia that was wasted in 2010/11 after their Flag as a major criticism for lack of anything else. Working with Eddie you would always be 2nd or 3rd banana no matter which job you did. Gary drove and oversaw great membership growth and club development during his time. He Has made a very good 4 years go without an apparent and major public event ( presidential and football Department inc.the Review efforts have been outstanding.) And our subsequent Flag has made us millions. He has started our 4 year plan with results and Sunday could be another target accomplished. Our financial situation is the envy of more than half the Clubs in the AFL considering where we have come from. As many will say about our Training plan being developed we need our Admin and Social and supporter meeting place all in one developed. That is the prime Kate Roffey responsibility along with Gary and is a State Govt development in progress it appears. Yes it is easy when you stretch wins in 9 and 11 continuously with the prospect of more like that in the offing. Time for some good vibes from the doubters if they can eat humble( pie ) which is what they are sort of mixed up about being in this equation. Move on credit where credit is due. Also the Board and previous others are included in the overall appreciation society at present. We are so lucky our ducks are all in a row and are healthy and producing many beautiful ducklings in our footy life today. Long May it continue.

Spargs is a master at not really looking staged at it. Kossie is dramatic snd this one reminded me of the 3rd quarter one in the GF which the umpires ignored also. It's going to be about a 1 in 3 especially in front if goals if you lower your head ( ie duck) so is it worth continuing to try or use it? Maybe change name to Sellwood Kossie and Charlie keep using it strategically.
