  1. It'll be tough on the boys to back up last night with another game in five days but as a supporter I think it's great that we play again so soon. Can't believe that it's round 7 already though.
  2. I like how the differing views about the Anzac / Anzac Eve games are given their space in this thread without being shouted down. Our night game against Richmond is a fantastic spectacle. More so than the afternoon game the following day. That said I've always felt that they are little more than well spun cash cows for the AFL (and maybe the RSL?) and not an appropriate way to reflect on what the day is about. The same goes for the week long ANZAC narrative on steroids throughout the football media landscape that competes to out gush each other. Sometimes less really is more.
  3. An actual sell-out or a gather round "sell-out"?
  4. Having just read the rest of this thread apparently it has to do with anyone moving that's within a 5 metre radius of the kicker but as Lever wasn't the person standing the mark the decision was mind boggling. You'll be lucky to see it getting paid again this year.
  5. Those post game espresso martinis tasted extra good tonight. Never tire of beating that bunch of NQR's. We weren't great for much of the night but they were playing for their season and we've effectively ended it.
  6. Understatement of the year.
  7. Sounds like GWS are getting some traction in Canberra. I just heard six people start a Giants chant when they got within 35 points of Brisbane.
  8. Looking like Adam Kingsley was handed the keys to a reliant robin.
  9. Flagmantle flag (verb) to become tired, weaker or less effective
  10. Ask Dogga if he thinks the grass is greener BT.
  11. Why would you bother to boo someone as insignificant as Rory Lobb?
  12. By all accounts the round will be sold to the highest bidding state so if anyone else wants it they will have to cough up the $$$. I agree with other posters that it's only fair if the two local sides play each other but we know that won't happen. That aside I'm pretty ambivalent about the whole thing. I guess they'll look to expand the amount of provincial grounds they play at and perhaps look to do away with the double headers. And just seeing the locals implode when Victoria steals it off them in perpetuity three years from now will make it all worthwhile.
  13. I really hope this is the last time we try and 'phone it in' this season. My mood is as dreich as the weather outside right now.
  14. It's the foundation every game plan is built on and if we'd brought it early it may have been enough to keep a pretty average opponent at bay until we'd found our groove. Maybe our issues this season are all above the shoulders.
  15. When you don't bring the appropriate intensity to play AFL football that's what you get. Turned it off half way through the last quarter but could've done it half an hour earlier and not missed anything.
  16. Sunny but windy this side of the Maribyrnong this morning. 30km bike ride already done and bacon & egg roll and 2nd coffee already demolished. Let's shake off the setback of our 2023 draft placings momentarily and focus on the red & blue buzz saw that will be adding Essendon to the wood chip pile this afternoon.
  17. I know it's all about taking one game at a time but we should be licking our lips at taking on the toothless tigers next week.
  18. Are all of these games "sold out" because the SA government bought up all of the unsold tickets?
  19. Fremantle players celebrating like we did in our 2 wins a season days. Embarrassing.
  20. Dockers now 16th ⬇️
  21. $750,000 per club should be enough to buy their silence. It's only really fair if they make one of the games a showdown.
  22. That would be akin to the SA government buying their two AFL clubs an extra home game each year.
  23. Looks to be the same 'hot dog' shape as the Western Oval in Footscray. Completely straight wings.
