Hi DJ. I was surprised to read this. I've always considered an AFL season to be pretty short. Same with NFL. In Europe, football coaches / managers oversee 10 month long seasons and they might get 4 weeks off between them. They are almost always just a few bad games away from being sacked. Man City just finished a season in which they played 60 games over 4 different competitions that included a lot of travelling to the continent in the Champions League and games every 3-4 days over those 10 months.

I’d prefer that the likes of Collingwood get their turn to go down there though and perhaps they will if Geelong can have eleven games there with a 40k capacity. Moving it to the G on a Thursday night won’t attract 70k as it’s inconvenient for their local supporters and ours won’t turn up because it’s cold or at night or whatever.

I have no feeling either way about the game today, just hoping for the best. It's a beautiful sunny winters day however so I'm going to make the most of it.
