Where I’m from if your name is George you get called Dod, or Doddy.

Umpiring discrepancies
It's quite simple. The AFL is a multi-million dollar industry being run like an amateur organisation. Full time umpiring and the latest VAR goal line technology should be non-negotiable. I'm surprised they're not already using the time it takes to make a VAR decision to introduce spot betting on the outcome to help fund them both.

Don’t know about the touched call at the end but we can’t have too many complaints about that one. I didn’t feel like we had any periods of momentum through the first three quarters yet we still managed to just do enough to keep in touch on the scoreboard. When we did in the last 15 minutes we didn’t make enough of our opportunities. Oh well, I guess we were due to lose a close one against them sooner or later.

Don't forget to send Papley all our love while you're at it.

Strictly speaking there's only the one. The other was cloned.

Sounds like there's zero Suns supporters at their game judging by the silence when they score.

It's been a really nice morning weather wise here on the west side of town and has only just started raining, although nothing heavy. Let's hope it has dissipated by game time. As CH7 have the rights to Australia's world cup games I wonder if it was their decision to show the game live on the big screens as they are also broadcasting our game tonight.

The booth at the wharf no longer sell ferry tix to the game. Called up the operator and they didn’t know either! Said there’s supposed to be a couple of crossing before and after the game and it was free if you have a game day ticket. Couldn’t tell me any times though so none the wiser really. Will probably get a cab.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
I don't think BG will be moving clubs. However, is it possible that the agreement to pay part of his wages is between the CFC and BG himself so it goes wherever he goes and Melbourne have agreed to a separate contract with him?

Finals preference
I'd like to avoid playing Collingwood in any final because their scummy fan base would ruin the occasion. At the Sydney game last year I was on an aisle right next to two bays of their fans. They were good craic, a fair number who were members at Pennant Hills and had travelled down for the weekend. It would be nothing like this against the great unwashed.

Buddy Retires Effective Immediately
On yesterday's evidence you'd have to think Riewoldt and Cotchin will be next. Dusty could go around again if he's so inclined. Kamdyn Mcintosh just looks like he's 60.

Just back from the game. Level 4 City End, just in front of Matt Jones and his kids, all decked out in the red & blue. I was worried at half time. We were just a bit off and said to a mate that we need to find a way to break the game open with four unanswered goals if we're to win this one. Around half way through the third we stopped them getting beyond their half forward line and progressively began to lock it in our forward line for longer periods. In the last they couldn't stay with us and we tore them a new one. Love getting one over that lot and their sooky fans.

Watching Collingwood, Brisbane and Port this weekend reminds me of when Toto the dog pulled back that curtain at the end of the Wizard of Oz.

Brisbane, in Bears colours and playing on their old ground turned in a Bears performance for the ages. Well done!
