  1. If I had a crystal ball and could see that West Coast won't make the GF I'd be more than happy to take their $50 million.
  2. Hi BBP. I have no idea who Tom Elliott is but my understanding of the situation is that Victoria, unlike other states can only activate any of the measures we're currently seeing under a state of emergency for a maximum of six months only. That period is due to end soon. Extending the option for a further 12 months would allow them to be activated again at short notice (if required) without a lengthy debate taking place in parliament to change legislation. It doesn't in itself extend level 4 restrictions beyond 13 September or into the 2021 football season. It's a preemptive measure should there be a need to close things down again quickly at some point in the next year or so.
  3. If we do miss finals this year it'll be as much because we took eight weeks to work out how to get someone in our midfield to kick the ball to someone in our forward line. Despite having what we're told was a stellar preseason pre covid.

This game is an absolute drossfest.
  5. I'd be all for it. Imagine the Crows having a 0-34 season.
  6. If both sets of fans were honest they'd say they have no idea which version of their respective teams will turn up today. Slightly worrying perhaps is that it's now their turn to have a season defining game.

Good luck to GC getting any traction in the Top End. There's barely two guys and a dog cheering them on tonight. You'd have to say they've been royally screwed of any chance to showcase their club to an NT audience by being scheduled to play 3 games inside 9 days.
  8. We should be playing in Hobart this weekend (a Jetstar departure reminder came up on my phone). We'd be right in the middle of this Antarctic bubble cold weather system that's been forecast to hit with game day temperatures of 9 degrees maximum and wind gusts of up to 50km p/h. No doubt we'd have coughed up a one kick lead going into the last quarter with a 10 goal hurricane at our backs.

On my duffle coat I had Mark Jackson's number (25) then on my woollen royal blue guernsey Michael Reynolds (46) followed by Brad Sparks (42) on my navy blue lace up. Maxy is my favourite of our current crop of players.
  10. Hi Maldonboy. Aye, if they ever made a walk of fame in Glesga then Govan's finest would surely be on it.
  11. Maybe I'm on my own here but I've never quite understood the intense debate that goes into the picking of a team that doesn't actually play against anyone. It's not like they're going to represent us in a World Cup. I'm not against bestowing accolades on the best players in our game but just think this concept is a bit daft.
  12. I'd be ok with midweek games if the season is extended to more than 22 games as I don't want to lose the social element around our matches that take place on the weekend.
  13. Should we take care of the Dogs on the weekend then I think we're effectively down to 9 teams vying for 8 places. Richmond beating GWS this week should help our cause there. We can forget about a top 4 place and the double chance that goes with it so should concentrate on who else are likely to finish in the 5-8 bracket with us and which of them we'd fancy our chances against if we're to make the second round of the finals.
  14. At the very least I hope they've learnt that learnings isn't a word. It should definitely be scrapped.
  15. With only 3 days recovery time between those 2 games you could be right.
  16. Agreed AF. Even an away final against Port wouldn't bother me that much. More temperate weather down there in October too. I'd prefer to avoid a trip to WA if possible, assuming there are games there. The games up in Cairns concern me a little as the wings at Cazaly Stadium are huge.

I'm not really concerned about who wins between St K and the Bombers. They both have a pretty hard run home and I wouldn't be surprised if they both missed finals.
  18. How good are Sunday mornings after a big win over the magpies. I reckon it sits somewhere between Rangers beating Celtic and England being knocked out of a World Cup or the Euros.
  19. if we finish either 5th or 6th can we nominate Alice Springs as our 'home' ground ?
  20. Leaving their tired old patter aside it does little more that skim the surface of the game for me. There used to be a show called On The Mark that followed 360 and I thought the girls on it were really good at guiding their guests through some sensitive topics. Then again maybe it just seemed that way after an hour of listening to Robbo.
  21. Haven't watched AFL 360 in ages. Now I know why.
  22. Saints getting belted. Lovely. Wouldn't surprise me to see them tumble out of the 8 with the run home they have.
  23. The Footy Show minus the misogyny. Comedy for the lobotomised.
  24. but cooked.
  25. One disappointing thing about a shortened season is that we don't get to see Adelaide go 0-22 to farewell Tex Walker.
