Fixture 2020 (COVID Edition)
We should be playing in Hobart this weekend (a Jetstar departure reminder came up on my phone). We'd be right in the middle of this Antarctic bubble cold weather system that's been forecast to hit with game day temperatures of 9 degrees maximum and wind gusts of up to 50km p/h. No doubt we'd have coughed up a one kick lead going into the last quarter with a 10 goal hurricane at our backs.

Favourite Dees
On my duffle coat I had Mark Jackson's number (25) then on my woollen royal blue guernsey Michael Reynolds (46) followed by Brad Sparks (42) on my navy blue lace up. Maxy is my favourite of our current crop of players.

ALL AUSTRALIAN SIDE
Hi Maldonboy. Aye, if they ever made a walk of fame in Glesga then Govan's finest would surely be on it.

ALL AUSTRALIAN SIDE
Maybe I'm on my own here but I've never quite understood the intense debate that goes into the picking of a team that doesn't actually play against anyone. It's not like they're going to represent us in a World Cup. I'm not against bestowing accolades on the best players in our game but just think this concept is a bit daft.

Fixture 2020 (COVID Edition)
I'd be ok with midweek games if the season is extended to more than 22 games as I don't want to lose the social element around our matches that take place on the weekend.

THE RUN HOME 2020
Should we take care of the Dogs on the weekend then I think we're effectively down to 9 teams vying for 8 places. Richmond beating GWS this week should help our cause there. We can forget about a top 4 place and the double chance that goes with it so should concentrate on who else are likely to finish in the 5-8 bracket with us and which of them we'd fancy our chances against if we're to make the second round of the finals.

THE RUN HOME 2020
At the very least I hope they've learnt that learnings isn't a word. It should definitely be scrapped.

THE RUN HOME 2020
With only 3 days recovery time between those 2 games you could be right.

THE RUN HOME 2020
Agreed AF. Even an away final against Port wouldn't bother me that much. More temperate weather down there in October too. I'd prefer to avoid a trip to WA if possible, assuming there are games there. The games up in Cairns concern me a little as the wings at Cazaly Stadium are huge.

NON MFC: Round 12
I'm not really concerned about who wins between St K and the Bombers. They both have a pretty hard run home and I wouldn't be surprised if they both missed finals.

THE RUN HOME 2020
if we finish either 5th or 6th can we nominate Alice Springs as our 'home' ground ?

NON MFC: Round 11
Leaving their tired old patter aside it does little more that skim the surface of the game for me. There used to be a show called On The Mark that followed 360 and I thought the girls on it were really good at guiding their guests through some sensitive topics. Then again maybe it just seemed that way after an hour of listening to Robbo.

NON MFC: Round 11
Haven't watched AFL 360 in ages. Now I know why.

NON MFC: Round 11
Saints getting belted. Lovely. Wouldn't surprise me to see them tumble out of the 8 with the run home they have.

THE RUN HOME 2020
One disappointing thing about a shortened season is that we don't get to see Adelaide go 0-22 to farewell Tex Walker.

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs North Melbourne
They took 29 players to Adelaide. Would Preuss even have been one of them ?

THE RUN HOME 2020
Based on that list I'd say there are only two dead certs to play finals (based on reaching 10 wins) and they are Port Adelaide and Brisbane with Richmond also being likely. WC could be considered likely too but will be travelling back to Queensland to play many of those games where their form is questionable. Looking at St Kilda's run home I don't think you could say with any certainty that they'd definitely win any of them. If we make the big assumption that we'll beat North tomorrow then I think it's imperative we win as many of the games against our main competitors for a place in the 8 along the way.

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs North Melbourne
Hi Wunders. Yeah, all fair points you make there. I keep tearing the medial ligaments and meniscus in both knees as well. My goalkeeping days are behind me now unfortunately.

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs North Melbourne
A lot will depend on who needs to be managed through injury and soreness for Sunday. As T-Mac seems to be the latest player to be taking heat from the fan base, if we go with Tommo at CHB again I wonder whether he could take his place on the wing? We did it a fair bit back in 2018 when he was having trouble getting into a game. Sometimes even starting him there if I remember correctly, albeit mostly on the right wing where Langdon tends to play. The forward line clearly works better when we're not building a game plan around him as our main target but in such a compressed season there's still likely to be a role for him to play I think. Just a thought.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
I felt for most of the night that if we could get a 4 goal break on them we'd be fine but it would have been good to have done that a little earlier in the game. Tracca has found it a little hard to break tackles these last couple of weeks. I wonder if we can reinvent T-Mac in another role as he'll find it difficult to get back in the side as things look right now. Weid seems to have come into his own a little now that he is the senior tall in the forward line. Injuries aside you'd think Nev might struggle to get back into the 22 now.

Bernie should stick to selling houses.

Dee's Finances
Dee's financing. Who is Dee and what do her finances have to do with us ? Anyway, I think Glenn Bartlett mentioned this (or it may have been Perty) on a recent interview somewhere. $1 million raised by Xmas will see us in the rarified air of being an unassisted club. Makes me feel all fuzzy and warm inside.
