WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Not to mention Alan Jarrott, Shane Zantuck (via South Melb), Brent Crosswell and to a far lesser extent Xavier Tanner.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
I caught a train towards town from Kensington station last year on a day when they were playing at Docklands and it had a fair few Roos fans on it. I'd never seen so many in the one place. They must all live in that Kensington / Flemington / Ascot Vale corridor along with Essendon supporters. It's then pretty much Bombers territory until you get close to Broadmeadows where Collingwood take over.

It could just be that both clubs have a deal in principle ready to go but want to see how everything else plays out tomorrow before pulling the trigger. I don't think either club have a reputation for playing hard ball.

Farewell Mitch Hannan
I wasn't aware of that Turner. I think we gave him every opportunity to nail down a permanent position during his time with us but if he thinks the grass is greener in Wefo then good luck to him.

Farewell Mitch Hannan
Dogs have sold him the dream of 3 years as a fringe player where we could only offer him 2. In his shoes we’d probably do the same.

Training at the MCG
The best we could hope for might be a single light session on the G a day or two prior to each home game at a time of day that works around any ground maintenance schedules. I think the WA sides get to do this at Optus. The fact that we now train early in the day and could be off the ground before 12 noon might help. They often have lines of grow lamps covering the surface at night, when we used to train there.

Geelong’s continued assistance from state, federal, and local govt
Hey DJ. Yeah, that's a fair point too. Everyone's a winner it seems. It's just important that the Geelong Football Club are sufficiently 'neutered' financially in the name of fairness to the AFL competition.

Geelong’s continued assistance from state, federal, and local govt
Just a view from the outside but is this perhaps just one of the benefits of being a swing constituency ? I'd be more concerned if it was a privately owned facility. It's not like money is being poured into a white elephant as the place is packed for every Geelong game and the stadium is part of a much bigger sports precinct. I don't doubt that it provides the Geelong Football Club with a big match day profit but you'd think that some element of that would find it's way back into government coffers via the Kardinia Park Trust.

LOL. If I were our no. 9 I'd also be taking out a court injunction to prevent the Deebrief from calling him Spargy Pants.

Didn’t I read somewhere that Nibbler was originally a midfielder ? ?

Apology to members - 1981 version
Yeah, that's bizarre that they grabbed some used season tickets @640MD but I'd be far more gutted about losing the Hasselblad. Mine are also just sitting in a drawer at home but I live on the west side of town and I don't think they'd be on the Apex gang's shopping list.

Adam Treloar
From the outside looking in he seems too clean cut and respectable to fit in at Collingwood. Clearly someone over there hasn't done their due diligence. The clean police record alone should have set off alarm bells.

I think the fanbase forfeited any right to suggest nicknames after milkshake. ??♂️

LOL. Story of our lives. I used a stanley knife blade to round off the corners of the no 5 and then got a 9 printed on top. I then did the same with the letters and managed to change Mark Jackson to Dale Dickson. It must have taken me most of the summer to finish. I wasn't a fan of him but it was better than throwing out a good duffle coat. I had Crackers Keenan on it too and I think he just lasted the one season ??♂️

Yup. It was a very lean year. I went to every game bar the one against Geelong at the SCG. A year before they shipped poor old South Melbourne up there.

Geez. Why don't I remember that A de C ? I got my first duffle coat at the end of that season and had Jacko's name and number printed on the back. A year after that he was gone. He moved to St K (where his brother was) because we were too stuffy a club for him. Belting Robbie Flower at training probably didn't help his cause.

That was at the Western Oval in round 3. Robert Flower took a big mark in the goal square at the railway (southern) end of the ground deep in time on. It was my first season going to watch the Dees and my first away game.

Roos joins panel to find Kangaroos Coach
Yeah. Didn’t Yze interview for the senior role at Freo last year ? Hope he doesn’t trigger that clause with us. The ink has barely dried on his contract.

Isaac Smith
Enjoying the updates Dr Evil so keep them coming. I don't mind the occasional furphy.
